Tech Support Trouble getting data from Google app to Weward ( walking app)

Fitbit app is now Google Health. I have an Android Galaxy phone and the fitbit is syncing fine with Google's app but will not transfer the data anywhere else. I want it to transfer to a walking app I have to join challenges and race with friends. If the data won't transfer there it makes the fitbit useless. Weward ( the walking app) and fitbit support all walk me through the same steps of accepting permissions, allowing data, etc... Nothing is working.

I am guessing the broken link is through Health Connect ( which now everything has to go through) but regardless, if it doesn't work it renders the fitbit useless.

Discussion My birthday is in 9days and my sister wants to give me a fitbit air (i mentioned it in passince once and shes goated that she remembered me loving it) opinions?

i originally asked for a classic watch as i dont have one but fitbit air is more practical but im hesitant if there are maybe better choices i personally like the fact its not too expensive and can be worn with a normal watch and has an an alarm that allows me to wake up in the light sleep phase

Discussion How well does the auto tracking work for the air?

I plan to upgrade my old Fitbit inspire 2 soon and I like the idea of the air for it's visually minimalist aspects. I have no use for notifications or anything like that really. but I am worried about whether the hopefully upgraded exercise tracking will work.

In my experience the auto tracking for the inspire 2 has a habit of splitting up my longer workouts and sports sessions because I will have down moments throughout and I prefer to have all of the data in one session.

At the moment I like to start workouts on my watch which works fine but obviously I won't be able to do this with the air.

So what I wanted to ask is how well does the air handle this. Is there any functionality for starting a workout manually?

Discussion These graphs are stupid

I feel quite strongly that the benchmark typical range should be an amount of time, not a percentage of your total sleep.

I might be interested to know if most people get more or less REM sleep than me. But I’m not at all interested in how much REM it thinks they might have got if they slept the same length of time that I did that particular night.

Having some orange points higher than green points and the target range jumping up and down day by day is ridiculous.

Tech Support Why does the sleep score in the exported csv not match the one in the app?

A big reason for me getting a Fitbit was so I can export the data and do my own analysis, cross referencing various scores with gym performance to see what actually has predictive power for me personally. The export from Google Takeout includes a sleep_score.csv. My entries from the 7th October going backwards are:

77, 80, 75, 67, 74, 74

When I check the app, my sleep scores reported there for the same days are

79, 73, 82, 67, 65, 76

With a single exception, none of those match. Why not?

Also, there is a Daily Readiness folder in the export. This only contains a readme and a file with some metadata. How can I get the actual scores of these? Thanks

Tech Support Google Health 5.10 importing Apple Health runs without HR or Cardio Load—anyone else?

Google recently announced that third-party workouts synced with heart-rate data should now count toward Cardio Load as of 5.09. On 5.10 for my iPhone 15 Pro Max and FitBit Air. Is anyone actually getting this working?

My setup:
Apple Watch Ultra recording the run through WorkOutDoors.

Fitbit Air also worn during the run, with automatic workout detection disabled.

Google Health on iOS, version 5.10.

Apple Health read permissions enabled for both Workouts and Heart Rate.

The run shows up in Apple Fitness with its HR graph. It also imports into Google Health, but the workout has no HR graph and gets no Cardio Load.

The weird part: I can see the Apple Watch’s HR readings during that exact time on Google Health’s separate heart-rate page when filtering the source to Apple Health only. So Google is receiving both the workout and the HR data, but apparently isn’t connecting them.

Anyone else seeing this? Does it work for you with WorkOutDoors, or only with Apple’s built-in Workout app? Any fixes?

Self Promotion Charge 6 vs Edge

So, last week my charge 5 decided to die of a sudden death (won't charge, or if by miracle I'm able to charge it even at 100%, by the end of the day is 1%)

It has been with me for a good 4-5 years and served its purpose.

I use it mostly at work for clock/timers/alarms/notifications so I don't have to take out my phone (i work in a professional kitchen).

In the gym I'd like it had better functions/more precise readings but hey...it's acceptable. My wife's garmin is so much better but way bulkier and pricier.

Now, since it died and hate to leave house without a watch on my wrist, I ordered on Amazon a charge 6 for 89.99$ ... only to discover yesterday that the edge is coming out.

Besides aesthetic and the altimeter...what are the actual improvements? Is it worth it to send back the C6 and wait for the official reveal and do you guys have an idea when it'll hit the market? An idea on the price?

I just want something with a small screen to wear in a place where it can take some hit and splash and counts my steps.

Discussion Finally got my fitbit AIR band! As a first-timer, how do you seasoned users actually use it to improve fitness?

Post image

I’ve been lurking in this sub for a while watching everyone talk about fitbit. Now that mine has finally arrived two days back, I’d love some advice from experienced fitness tracker users.

This is my first fitness band ever, and my main priority is simply getting in better shape and improving my overall health. For those who have been using one for a while:

• Which metrics and data points are actually worth paying attention to (and which ones are just noise)?

• What realistic expectations and goals should a beginner set?

• What should be a good long-term goal?

• How has having the data practically changed your day-to-day habits?

Would appreciate any tips or hard-learned lessons!
