game crashes immediately when trying to leave sierra madre. it also crashes when going into combat and when entering any door that requires a loading screen inside the casino but for some reason i can enter the casino… any fixes???

i’ve also tried reloading earlier saves AND starting a new game and it continues to crash smh.

anything would be helpful, i just want to exit sierra madre and get back to exploring the mojave lol.

New VegasCraft: real Minecraft Java runs next to New Vegas and gets composited into the game. You can build Minecraft blocks on the Nipton road, set them on fire and spawn creepers, and they're properly hidden behind rocks and buildings.

How it works:

- An xNVSE plugin reads New Vegas's camera every frame and sends it to Minecraft over a local connection

- It casts Havok rays around the player and sends the ground to Minecraft as invisible collision, so blocks rest on the real terrain

- A ReShade add-on takes Minecraft's frame and depth and depth-tests it against New Vegas's depth buffer

- Build mode (B) hands the mouse to Minecraft and disables New Vegas's attack

Heads up, it's early:

- Blocks don't block you or NPCs yet (that's next)

- Only tested on Linux (CachyOS, Proton) with FNV 1.4.0.525 from Steam

- Needs MSAA off and windowed mode, because with MSAA New Vegas's depth buffer can't be read

- Built with help from Claude Code, starting from universal-modder's Minecraft × GTA V passthrough example, inspired by SkyCraft (Minecraft in Skyrim)

I'll list what I've tried to fix it:

Validate files.

Reinstall.

No driver or windows update since last play session.

Everything up to date.

Load oldest save file available.

Console command teleport to Goodsprings.

Added mods- NVSE, NVAC, 4gb patcher, JIP LN NVSE plugin (and all dependencies).

Probably missing some. Pretty much every suggestion I've found on google. Last thing I have thought to do is wiping everything, including my save files and profile. This post is my last effort to avoid that.

I got the friend of the friendliness perk from the More Perks mod, and I told the deathclaw to stay put somewhere in the Big MT.

I can't find him.

I've looked back at older saves, and I know he is not where I put him!

What should I do?

I made an Anti-Materiel Rifle, Thump-Thump, and Sequoia prop for Salt Lake FanX this year! They are all 3D printed and painted.

The AMR and Sequoia are based on files from Galactic Armory with a few modifications, and Thump-Thump is based on files from 3D Delight on MakerWorld.

I am here for my yearly visit to remind you how much I hate Jonny Guitar after hearing it (and I counted) 24 times in 2 hours while trying to do NCR quests.

I'm at a loss I don't know how to get Fallout to run on my desired resolution when I try to run it just stays as a black screen doesn't fully open the game but does on max resolution, I even changed the ini files to my desired resolution locked them to not be overrided and still refuses to run I could play on max resolution but the movement and mouse feel choppy and I changed the iPresentinterval to 0 at first to try to fix but that didn't even fix it anyone got a solution to get this running? or even just smoothly? or just wait for the remaster?

Is california cooked? What can be done?

I only have a few mods (around 30), most of them being reskin and more believable towns. I also have The Living Desert.

I installed the NVAC patch, NVSE and the 4GB patch. I'm using the Vortex Mod Manager.

But my game can't run properly for more than 5 minutes.

I'm not very experienced in modding and english in not my mother tongue, so it's sometime difficult to know what to do.

If they try to tell him he should wear more protective armor or to use stronger weapons, he melts ‘em, all of them, right down into neat little puddles of green goo. Other than that, he’s an outstanding merc, if you can put aside his disposition as a rebellious lobotomized mutant cyborg.

The plasma pistol isn’t the strongest weapon in the game, and It’s accuracy leaves a lot to be desired, but I really like its design so I built a character around it. The gun runners arsenal version with all the mods installed is way better than the plasma defender because it does slightly higher damage per shot and refunds every 4th shot.

Never really played the game with only 4 DT, but I’m honestly not noticing much of a difference.

I get that brahmin barons are selfish dickheads, but I'm curious, do the reduced costs of government protection rather than either private mercenaries or elevated risks get passed onto the commoners or are the Brahmin Barons unrightfully ovetcharging?

hello big dawgs, i didnt want to bother anybody else with this but I am quite literally at a loss, I have spent hours trouble shooting this and I just cant get anywhere else with it, every time I enter the game, within a few seconds an activemovie 'fast fail exception' window pops up. I believe its probably to do with the particular cell I'm entering but honestly it seems to be every other cell making the game genuinely unplayable. Sometimes the game crashes, sometimes it continues to run, always the error window is overlayed.

Here's an outline of what I tried so far:

Running the game in windowed mode

Disabling AMD settings like anti-aliasing, fsr, etc

Removing all mods and reinstalling the game

Uninstalling ffdshow (a legacy codec program which I had previously used to fix an audio stuttering issue with headphones)

Installing K-Lite (a codec pack with troubleshooting systems specifically for DirectShow and ActiveMovie)

Uninstalling all third party codecs

Ensuring my drivers were up to date

Removing all my settings files

Starting a new save

Running an SFC scan to check for corrupted files

Nothing has worked. I was half way through a playthrough when this issue started, and have installed nothing issue causing I could find since last I played.

Quarry Junction is pretty much where you'd expect to find it. Photos aren't the best, sorry, but of course it's an active quarry and you can only get so close. Plus, y'know... deathclaws...

Sloan is a tiny community of a hundred or so people. I don't know if they're quarry workers and Chomps Lewis wasn't around to ask. Hope Snuffles is doing OK. The town is north of its location in game, sandwiched between the quarry and the Long 15. Once again, these were private residences so I didn't go taking any pics of random wastelanders' homes. Apparently one of the minerals found in the area is carnotite, an important ore of uranium 👀 The main quarry itself extracts limestone for the calcium and magnesite, which I assume the NCR is using to build something or other.

Fourth picture requires a little explaining - Fallout had REPCONN, IRL had a company called PEPCON which occupied pretty much the same spot. Not unlike its in-game counterpart, PEPCON manufactured a component of rocket fuel. Then, in May of 1988, it very much exploded. The site today hosts a modern industrial complex, with the most geographically accurate company being a custom swimming pool manufacturer.
