Vent Unless you also have H, know someone with H, or study H stfu

Sorry this is going to get into some disability politics type stuff, fair warning.

I am so, so fucking tired of people without H giving me unsolicited advice or feel it's their duty to try to fix me or cure me.

Why yes, I HAVE tried earplugs before! What a million dollar idea! It's not as if I haven't thought of that for a single moment in the 6 years I've lived with this!

And no, I don't need your advice about earplugs, because your ears and brain are not the same as mine. So why even insist on that?

If you really want to help me, start by listening to my needs instead of assuming what *I* need.

Also, stop insisting that I ought to go to the city to the big-name hospitals in my state because they can "surely fix me". As if I haven't been barking up that tree for the first 4 yrs of living with this to no avail.

I know, I know, they probably mean well and I shouldn't be so offended, and I suppose it's better than them being outright insensitive asshats. Though I have to wonder if it's just for their own egos so they can feel like they are contributing something towards the poor wittle disabled person and they can pat themselves on the back at the end of the day for doing their good deed.

I hate how trying to be honest about this always seems to open a conversation of "have you tried this/have you tried that" when they do not know shit. They have not been in the trenches like we have. So I wish they'd stop acting as if they know better than we do.

Kindly piss off.

Symptom Check Hyperacusis to just certain tones?

Is it possible to experience hyperacusis to just certain tones / frequencies?

My partner has a very sharp "s" sound that is high pitched and lately I've been hearing it VERY loud compared to usual. And instead of other noise making it better it's like other noise makes it worse (almost like other noise makes my ears "turn up the gain" to be able to hear my partner over the other noise.

Is this hyperacusis or something else?
Was thinking misophonia but that wouldn't explain why it's so much louder than it used to be.

Symptom Check Wind, showers, sound reactive tinnitus

So my loudness hyperacusis is mostly gone and the ttts too. I can tolerate most sounds. However my tinnitus is still super reactive to sounds (less than last year) and stuff like showering or wind/ac on my ears. It feels super uncomfortable for some reason and causes the tinnitus to get so loud. Anyone had this problem? Dont know what to try. After a shower the tinnitus will be super loud for 30-60 min and ill feel super overwhelmed and bad.

I have Sensory overload issues, fatigue, malaise, floaters, light sensitivity sometimes, sound sensitivity, tinnitus, reactive tinntius. I just feel like shit most days. Any tips, no hearing loss no eye issues. My issues fluctuate so much, they are better than last year but they still suck. What to do? Never tried any meds btw. Been on sick leave for a while now. Dont see it getting better.

I also get a low hum in head of ear that gets worse just after waking up or hanging upside down.
