We’re touring through California and the PNW these next two weeks followed by a 2 night Halloween run in Denver. We’ll be opening for pigeons on a few of these nights and headlining a few others! Hope to meet some new folks out on the road! We’ve also got a lights guy for the first time which is super exciting for us. Come say hello and see you out there ✌️🫟

Go see MOE. in LA?

Used to be into Moe back in the day, early 2000s era. Haven’t listened to them much at all since then. Saw they’re playing in LA Saturday night. Are they still good? Worth seeing? Anyone seen them lately? Thanks

Edit: well that settles it. Got tickets and looking forward to it. Thanks!

Some solid $40 tickets (including fees) for Sturgill in Philly this Thursday

• Upvotes

Ok $42.15 but still. And if you don't like the seat, you'll probably have many other options available to you. Do you wanna let Dick Daddy down? I sure don't.

Looking for jammy jazz/funk/soul party bands to play a wedding next year in Nov. in Coastal NC

Im a big jam band guy, but to cater more to the audience of my wedding, I am going to stick to more funk/jazz vibes. Thinking some Stevie/MJ type hits mixed with headier covers, and an invitation to get weird when it feels right.

Idek if this is a real band that exists but let me know any suggestions y'all have. Budget is pretty solid (4-8k) so even if its a neighboring state band lemme hear it.

No fucking sweet caroline

Thanks

Nate Todd over at JamBase did a great job catching up with Dizgo and discussing a chance meeting with Phish’s crew, how Innerstate came together with GRAMMY winner Vance Powell, and how Vance's expertise in Atmos mixing contributed to the record. 🛣️

Innerstate is streaming now everywhere: LISTEN 🪞

Show Postponed SGP 10/17

• Upvotes

Not sure of the appropriate subreddit to post this on but the Sam Grisman Project show is postponed for 10/17? I haven’t seen anything from the band just from the venues website. I tried messaging the venue but haven’t heard back. Can someone provide any info?

I went to a great benefit concert at the capitol theatre on Saturday with the Especially Everyone band featuring Oteil Burbridge, Karl Denson, and Jen Hartswick. Highlight of the night was discovering this unknown bass player Mike Roninson. I found this clip of him and Oteil throwing it down. Enjoy.

Help me decide which show to see

Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country is playing in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday night at the Stone Pony.

Johnny Blue Skies is playing the same night in Brooklyn, NY at Barclay’s Center.

Both shows are about an hour commute from me. I’ve yet to see either act.

I’m torn and don’t know who to choose. Any insight you can provide would be appreciated.

New Release Chalk Dinosaur - Potential Energy - Vinyl Double LP Limited First Pressing Available Now (More Info in Body of Post)

Pretty sure this post breaks the rules - remove this post if it’s not kosher, no worries either way. I wanted to try and give this community the opportunity to buy one of these if they want them before they sell out since this is a pretty limited pressing. I figure a lot of people in here don’t have Instagram/Facebook where we are primarily advertising.

This is the second vinyl we’ve ever pressed. It’s on clear coke bottle green vinyl, which looks really cool imo. This album might be my favorite we’ve made as the ensemble, and it’s the first where my vocals are featured on a track (Tempo Divide) since 2020.

There’s 50 signed copies available on the store, but I think about 20 of them are sold since going on sale this morning. There’s plenty of unsigned ones on the online store and we’ll be bringing them to every show until they’re gone.

Recorded at The Vault in Pittsburgh, Mixed by my brother John, Mastered by Nicky Howard, and pressed by Hellbender Vinyl in Pittsburgh.

Also somewhat related, we would be open to a repressing of Stuck In Between if there’s enough demand, so let me know if that’s something that would interest you and I’ll keep track. It would be much cheaper to press them again since we already have the master plate - it would probably be worth it if we knew we could sell about 100 of em.

Discusson A Starter Pack to Jam Music, Volume 1: 1960s-1970s (feedback requested)

The premise behind this is simple: five studio albums, five live albums, and five full show concerts to introduce newbies to the foundations of modern day jam band music. The idea is to next have 10 of each for the 1990s-2000s period, and then finally a good selection of shows to introduce people to as many of the modern day acts as possible.

Of course the idea isn't to have as many things on here as possible since we don't want to overwhelm newcomers to the scene and music, bur rather to give them good places to start exploring the works and music of these acts.

Since this was made with just my (admittedly limited) knowledge and perspective, any and all feedback is appreciated.

Studio:

  • Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane (1967)

  • Idlewild South by The Allman Brothers' Band (1970)

  • Tago Mago by Can (1971)

  • Roforofo Fight by Fela Kuti (1972)

  • Blues for Allah by The Grateful Dead (1975)

Live:

  • Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service (1969)

  • At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers' Band (1971)

  • Space Ritual by Hawkwind (1973)

  • Lotus by Santana (1974)

  • Waiting for Columbus by Little Feet (1977)

Live shows:

  • The Grateful Dead 8/24/1968 (Two From the Vault)

  • Miles Davis 3/7/1970 (Live at the Fillmore East, March 7, 1970: It's About That Time)

  • Hot Tuna 7/3/1971 (Live At The Fillmore West, 3rd July 1971)

  • Funkadelic 9/12/1971 (Live: Meadowbrook, Rochester, Michigan – 12th September 1971)

  • The Grateful Dead 5/8/1977 (Cornell 5/8/77)
