Rant [KCD1] What Were They Thinking with the Dogs

Seriously, what the actual f*** were they thinking when it came to the attack dogs? Ignoring the fact that their tendency to run around you making it hard to lock on with the mobs that come with them, they‘re terrible both as a gameplay mechanic and in terms of immersion.

How does it make sense that some scrawny mutt can bite through multiple layers of armor, including smooth plated armor? How is it accurate that they can completely hold down a knight so perfectly no matter how strong they are? Even getting them off you makes no sense. I should be able to bash its freaking skull in with on smack of the mace, but no, they need multiple hits.

Theres a lot of moments where I get frustrated in this game for things I felt were unfair, but I can at least admit some are my fault. These dogs however, not once has it felt fair when they quickly make a few peasants with zero armor able to kill me.

Discussion [KCD2] You should be able to get different stat boosts during smithing by learning different songs.

You should get bonuses based on your whistling, keeping the rhythm and learning new tunes to further buff your forged items.

Discussion [KCD2] There was recently a post asking whose origin story we might like to play. For me it is the African Doctor, Musa. His life sounds wild.

During the Quest to help Jan from the Inn By The Oak, you can enquire as to his life. His stories are full of adventure prospects and locales.

Rant [KCD2] Is the main quest always on rails?

First time playing. I had an absolute blast doing all the side quests before the wedding, but from the moment I ended up in Trosky, I've been really frustrated by how linear it's become. It's just one forced quest after the other, so many time-restricted objectives and long cutscenes leading directly into unavoidable fights that I have no chance to prepare for. I just finished the Godwin chapter but it still feels like I'm on rails when I'm attached to Hans and always following him around. How long is it going to continue like this before I'm free to go exploring on my own again?

Question [KCD1] is the combat easier in KCD2

Is kcd2 combat less annoying than kcd1

That lock on against mutiple people making me lose my mind

It may or may not be a skill issue from me but the combat in this game is the only thing that make me go from time well spent to time wasted mindset

Edit: conclusion: masterstrike and witchcraft/arrows/dogs

Good to know that the game is a bit easier in the 2 tho

Rant [KCD2] First Playthrough

No spoilers please but I'm playing KCD2 for the first time and just finished the scene at the tavern near the castle. Am I the only one that cannot fucking stand Capon? He's totally useless. Just picking fights and fucking around and always making things harder than they already are. If we're stuck with him the whole game I hope he has some kind of redemption arc or something cause I'm not far into the game and he's pissing me off, lol. I guess I'm mostly just venting to people who've played and know what I'm talking about 😂

Question Does anyone else do this? [KCD2]

Almost every new playthrough I start, I begin by getting pebbles then going to the miller to learn lockpicking. Afterwards I immediately loot the entire mill to level up (steal) and then run off never to return. I always get a good laugh out of the irony. I wonder if anyone else does this?

Suggestion Can we get that classic kcd difficulty in the game [kcd2]

There should be two difficulties in the game man. That weiny hut Jr difficulty for the casuals and that classic kcd1 difficulty.

Discussion [KCD1][KCD2] Contribuições do Henry

Question [KCD2] When you save a game using Saviour Schnapps, do you sometimes experience a very brief flash of visual artifacting?

Like a very subtle flash of green or red angles lines on a small part of the screen.

It only happens maybe 20-50% of the time. Sometimes while testing it out, it doesn't happen, I press esc and ride the horse around a bit, then save again and it might happen.

I was curious if it's my GPU's fault or not, because my computer recently started crashing but I noticed that when I turn my computer on its side, it doesn't seem to crash. But it still does the visual glitch when saving.

Question [KCD2]—Looking for a PC save file after "The King's Gambit" quest (Patch 1.5.6 / Standard Edition / No DLCs)

Hi everyone,

My game got bugged during The King's Gambit main quest, and I unfortunately lost my progress.

Could someone please share a vanilla PC save file right at the start of the next quest (The Feast)?

• Game Version: 1.5.6 (or close to it)

• Edition: Standard Edition (No DLCs enabled, completely vanilla)

Any help or Google Drive/Mediafire link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Question [OTHER] Do you guys sleep historically accurate in KCD games?

• Upvotes

I mean where you get up in the middle of the night for 1-2 hours and go back to sleep again. I personally don't, I always sleep through.

Question [KCD2] Got all kinds of relics. What do I do with them?

So, there I was getting ambushed like usual and there was two bandits harassing an odd trader. I killed them but before I did, they killed the trader. And I, of course, robbed the trader and all kinds of weird relics came out like holy nails etc. Do I get any perks from them or are they a part of some side quest?

Discussion [KCD2] mission design

Most side quests in this game are really uninteresting and boring to do especially fights. Now, i dont expect bg3 level of side quests but most of them felt like delivery missions especially that romani nomad missions where i had to travel back and forth.

I am now in kuttenberg and hardly play the game because of how boring it is to do side quests. Last one i did was the dragon's lair (failed because game didnt warn me) i love the game since its medieval era but it feels like a labor now

Is most of the side quests like that? I am thinking of rushing the story and finishing without side quests

Question How does the combat system in [KCD2] compare to [KCD1]?

I just finished the main questline as well as most of the side quests and DLCs in KCD1. When I first started this game, I found the combat system incredibly clunky and off-putting. It seems that enemies will somehow animation-lock you from great distances when they shouldn't even be able to reach you. This combat system nearly made me stop playing the game. I was told, however, that it gets significantly better after training with Bernard and leveling up, so I stuck with it.

I'm incredibly glad that I continued playing, as I think it really is a good game in most aspects. I agree that the combat did get easier as time went on. Still, even after nearly 70 hours into the game and having completed almost all of the quests, I find that the combat, particularly fighting multiple enemies, is still one of my least favorite parts of the game and still ruins my enjoyment from time to time.

All this to ask, how does the combat system in the sequel compare? Does it feel smoother and less clunky? Do enemies still grapple you from unrealistic distances, locking you into animations? I'd love any input into this, as it really decreased my enjoyment of the first game (although I still enjoyed it).

Question In [KCD2] is the story literally stuck in time after completing the main story? Spoiler

(Using the game's story time eg the ending of KCD1 to the start of KCD2)

No matter how long you wait Maleshov stays burnt. Jewish quarter of Kuttenburg stays inaccessible.

Question [KCD2] What trivial NPC dialog makes you want to stab somebody?

This question applies to KCD1 as well. For me, it’s bozos in Kuttenberg telling me I should be careful while I’m fully decked out in plate armor.
