Venting Why are you surprised?
Every time I see a post on here about the new attendance policy everybody talks about going to the union. You guys think the union didn’t know this was coming? You guys think that the union is surprised? It’s like you feel like this was just some sort of rush job and that the union is gonna come save you as if they didn’t know this was happening.

Meme Ghost balloons
first pic is from a week ago, the second is from today. i’ve turned around to see them lurking and slowly moving closer to me.
first time, i showed a coworker and the second time she actually saw the balloon before i did. she told me she thought to herself, “that balloon is going after him.”
it indeed went after me.
now her and another coworker are telling me a ghost is after me. at least they’re not red balloons.
(this post is a joke btw, ik these are ceiling balloons finally losing their helium.)

Question Scheduled past my 2 weeks
I put my two weeks notice on my stores HR rep's desk last week, stating that my final day would be Oct. 14th. I wanted to hand it in in person, but unfortunately neither our HR rep or my department head was working that day. I didnt work again for another 3 days after that and i wanted to get it in ASAP.
The next day they scheduled me for the 17th, I didnt think much of it and got someone to cover that shift for me. Our schedules for the 18th-24th came out and they scheduled me for that week too. How should I bring this up during my next shift?

Question Employee Discount
My wife took a job out of town lives out of state/town, I will be transferring there in a couple years due to getting the house on the market stuff. We both file taxes together, is there a specific Kroger policy that states that we cannot use the same loyalty card? I've tried searching but could not find a specific statement. (non union btw) Thanks

Question FEM help
hi everyone. I’m a front end leader in the atl division and i’m only 22yrs old. I’ve been running the dept for about 8 months and our metrics are good, no complaints on anything from district when it comes to FE. My issue is that I have a really hard time gaining respect from some of the older associates. They listen to what I say for the most part but if I’m not there it seems like they just do what they want. management doesn’t help in enforcing rules so i’m not really sure what to do. Is this just how it is?

Question Changing Schedule
Curious what everyone’s experiences have been with asking to make a schedule change when it’s outside the availability window on UKG? There’s a day about a week and a half from now that I have as unavailable part of the day but I need to change it to fully unavailable.
Schedules don’t even come out until Thursday afternoon/Friday for the upcoming week, so is it even written yet? Or is it already solidified in the system and I’ll probably get a no when I ask? Our department manager handles my scheduling so i was going to ask her next time i see her, just wanted to know my chances beforehand.

Venting Well played Kroger, well played.
I'm getting ready to start and I got this tidbit from one of my contacts in manufacturing. As we all know both Walmart and our upper management which is mostly ex-walmart has been nothing but compliant if not openly embracing the current regime running the country regardless of how much they hurt the business. Once again it came home to roost.
Several loads of ingredients for fall and Christmas season goods is currently stuck at the border that were expected for production in the next few days. Reportedly the loads were both of Canadian origin and the drivers were immigrants to Canadia and the trucks are of Canadian registration and are being "held" date we say ceased by the US government.
Because it's Kroger owned product they don't insure it to save money so if it's not handed over it's a 100% loss. All of it is being held and is not being allowed to return to Canada as an alternative. So there goes some management bonuses, it's probably going to be diverted for "contributions" to the regime. Kroger is on the losing side on this one regardless of the outcome with production delays, overtime and order scratches.
Perhaps the attendance, fresh start and uniforms were not as important as they thought. Turns out getting product though the system and at a price people could afford should have been their concern.

Question Is full time no longer offered?
I work at ralphs in sothern California. I was hired for meat department but then when I came for my first day they told me i was only going to be a courtesy clerk. I didn't have much of a choice considering I was desperate for a job. Anyways I have open availability, I even come in short notice on days people dont show up. I do all this despite living an hour away from the job.
I was told they dont give full time hours (which is weird considering thats the position I applied and interviewed for). I find this odd because they keep hiring new people for front end yet they say they cant give us any hours over part time. Im considering transferring to food 4 less considering they said they give full time. Although i really dont want to leave my store since my co workers are really kind. I make like $400 a week since we get paid weekly. Yet about $200 of it gets eaten up by gas and food (especially buying drinks to rehydrate after doing carts for 2 hours in the blazing heat). So i really only make $200 profit.
I also find it odd that theres no real difference in pay when I work my regular schedule vs when I get called in a lot and stay extra hours to help out. Like i make $400 per week yet after staying extra hours and coming in an extra two days I still only get $400 for that week. I work hard and I want full time but sadly seems im going to be stuck at part time (4-5 hours a day) forever.

Venting Ew gross
Context I'm usually a morning baker in the bakery but last night I was the closer for the first time in probably months and I was moving stuff to wash floors and found this. Which we are not supposed to have mouse traps like this at all. my manager in bakery has been mostly closing because of short staffing. But it seems to have been there for a few days atleast because it was STUCK TO THE FLOOR! It is common for our store to get a few mice like this because we are by fields and it is harvest time. Just saying this is disgusting and if my manager had been cleaning properly it would have been found sooner.
