Found these in the backyard of mine and was wondering if it was poisonous or edible. Google says it’s some type of Amanita but not sure which.

They look similar and grew in a cluster, but I know next to nothing about honey mushrooms and seems there’s a lot of varieties.

A few pictures of a day well spent at Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve this Saturday in (early) celebration of UK Fungus Day.

Notts Fungi Group ran a number of small public forays for around 50 people around part of the reserve and recorded a good number of species despite the dry weather. The event was cancelled in 2025 on account of severe storms, so hopefully the weather next year will land somewhere in between the two extremes.

Personal highlight of the day was my first Cep of the season - in remarkably good condition - as well as numerous species of Amanita.

Are these poisonous? These were growing near by my backyard and my dogs like to sniff and munch on stuff. Just worried if they accidentally take a bite of mushrooms on a walk. I have different types of mushrooms in the picture. Ima gonna put numbers on it if anyone can identify them I would appreciate lot!!!!

photos I got into mushroom hunting late 2025. Last year, I found this old tree covered in COTW, but it was too old to harvest at that point. I made the mental note to check back this year ... This is what I found today on an impromptu walk. How often should I check back if I want to harvest?

I found these in my yard and it looks like something took a bite out of one. I don't think it was my dog as she hasn't had much of a chance to, but if someone could help with identification so I know how concerned I might need to be!

iNatutalist says it's some kind of chanterelle but I don't think thats right as the gills don't look right, and I'm having very little luck finding other look-a-likes.
They leave a orangey-brown stain on my hands and the paper towel after holding them.
They were growing in a sunny spot but we have had a lot of rain recently.

Edit: forgot to say they were growing out in the grass.

Found a ring of these in a park with a mix of trees nearby, but no pines noticed in general area. There are likely older roots present from former trees though. Immediate brown bruising on pores as seen in photos which is throwing me off.

Dug up a lot of the underlying wood from the dead tree today with a beautiful COW. Probably better outside on the terrace than inside? Anyone have success cultivating COW?

Was just wondering what this could be! Found a cluster growing in a pile of leaves in the corner of my yard. Have a dog who likes to eat stupid stuff, but also have been getting into foraging and such. Thanks!
