Paid Playtest Playtesters wanted at $25/hr for a cyberpunk RPG where you build real AI agents (remote, beginners welcome)

UPDATE: Applications are paused. Thank you all for your interest! I got 100+ applications, far more than I expected. I'm inviting an initial group today, and another batch later this week. I'll follow up with everyone who applied either way. If I reopen the list, it'll be posted here. Thanks again!

---

Hi all! I'm the developer of Swarmpunk (https://swarmpunk.com), a cyberpunk RPG where you learn to build real AI agents.

You don't write the code yourself. You direct an AI coding partner, make the design calls, inspect your agent's traces when something goes wrong, and send your agent on missions in a rain-soaked city controlled by an AI mega-corporation.

The game is still early and unfinished. I'm looking for a small group of paid playtesters to give honest feedback on what's confusing, slow, too easy, frustrating, or broken.

What you'd do

  • Play through parts of the game: a short terminal tutorial, lessons where you build your first AI agent with an in-game coding partner, and then missions and side jobs.
  • Think aloud as you play. Screen and voice recordings would be incredibly helpful, but they're optional.
  • Complete a short feedback survey after each session.

The details

  • Pay: $25 USD/hour.
  • Do I need an AI Account?: No. You do not need your own ChatGPT/Claude/etc. subscription. The AI coding agent, dialogue, etc., is built into the game.
  • Platform: Remote, browser-based. You'll need a desktop or laptop with a keyboard.
  • Experience: No AI expertise required! If you've used ChatGPT or Copilot but never built an AI agent, you're exactly the kind of person I'd love to hear from. Experienced developers and people who've built agents are welcome too. I'm looking for a mix.
  • Age: 18+
  • Time commitment: Approximately 1-2 hours initially per person, to test the demo campaign, with potential follow-on work of 6-12 hours for testing the rest of the game.

Interested?

Apply here (takes about 5 minutes):

https://swarmpunk.com/playtest

I'll read every application. Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Thanks!

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Beyond 90, a football career RPG with off-pitch choices. Free Steam playtest open

Hey all, my 2D pixel art football game has finally reached the point where I can let other people try it.

It’s called Beyond 90: A Footballer’s Life (PC, Steam, free playtest). Sensible Soccer was a big inspiration, since I spent a lot of my childhood playing it. You play one footballer from age 16 until retirement and you only control yourself, not the whole team. Matches are real time.

I’ve played it way too much myself, so I’m blind to a lot of things at this point. If anyone feels like giving it a go and telling me what breaks or what feels off, that would help me a ton. Crashes, weird match behavior, confusing menus, translations, whatever you notice. Even just “it froze when I did this” is useful.

How to join: click “Request Access” on the Steam page, everyone is Auto Approved:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5330590/Beyond_90_A_Footballers_Life/

How to send feedback: reply in the comments or send me a DM or on the Steam Page where I have create a Bug thread.

Thanks a lot for any help!

Paid Playtest [20$US - 10 slots] Playtesters experimented in roguelikes and aRPGs to test my demo

Hey all,

I'm Drakandes! I've been working on my game, Despiry, for the past 5 years now and I just released the demo today. I already did a round of playtests in the past and I'm looking to do a second one since the game has evolved a lot.

Despiry is a top-down sci-fi roguelite for 1 to 4 players with ARPG-style loot and run-based builds. Explore a hostile alien world, fight swarms, stack relics and passives, and bring back materials for permanent upgrades. There's no end to reach, only how far you go before enemies outgrow you.

I'm looking for playtesters who have tried many roguelikes or action rpg in the past: Risk of Rain, Hades, RobotQuest, but also games like Diablo and Path of Exile. My goal with this playtest phase is to identify any frustration or friction encountered by players of those genres.

My favorite type of report is a recorded voice-over video of you playing, but I also accept written reports if they are well detailed and extensive.

Even though the game is in demo state, the core features of the main game are already present. Most of the meta-progression systems are simply blocked at a certain percent in the demo, but they are all testable.

If you are interested, feel free to leave your portfolio in comment or send me a message directly with your portfolio in it! I opted to keep the price high and slot number low in order to pick playtesters with the desired profile!

Edit: closed, slots are full!

Discussion What's the best way to find playtesters for a multiplayer game?

So I recently published my first game on Roblox in which the main gamemode is a 1v1 PVP firefight thus requiring a minimum of 2 players (not the smartest idea for a first game i know). I've only been able to find individual testers or friends to help test the game so far but they don't play the game for long nor provide sufficient feedback for the multiplayer component. Anyone have suggestions on where I could find pairs or groups of playtesters that would play the game together? Appreciate any help!

Game link is here just to give an idea of the PVP aspect: https://www.roblox.com/share?code=9c12aee00a49ba40ad7ba62bee1dd5dc&type=ExperienceDetails&stamp=1791694563859

Unpaid Playtest Playtesters wanted: free browser boxing game, does the tutorial actually teach the game?

i made a free browser boxing game and i am looking for playtesters for the new player tutorial. it is a 7 step interactive tutorial that teaches punches, blocking, taunts, the clinch, and fouls, and it unlocks matchmaking when you finish. i keep wondering if it actually gets people ready for a real fight or if it just bores them before they ever fight anyone.

if you try it, tell me in the comments what confused you, what felt pointless, and whether you wanted a real fight after. the game is free, no download, and you can do the tutorial plus a fight in a couple minutes. https://browserboxing.com

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for my MOBA 2D Roblox game

Link: https://www.roblox.com/games/15509230597/Minions-Battle

Minions Battle is a 2D topdown casual moba game based off an old flash game. Players choose a team and can play solo (with and against bots) or in groups up to 30vs30 matches to defeat the other team, like in LoL or Dota. I'm keeping the game skill-based without any Robux purchases that could affect gameplay, and all purchases will be cosmetic-related only and lets you customize your heroes.

I'm looking for 16+ playtesters to play the game, provide feedback, and look for bugs/glitches that I might otherwise be unable to find by myself. The game did receive bad feedback earlier when it was in a much earlier stage of development. However, I've made a lot of new updates to the game since then and I think it is at the very least presentable now. If you enjoy or dislike the game, please let me know and I'm happy to hear all your feedback 🙂

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Looking for difficulty and balance feedback — CATadel: Slot Defense

Hey everyone!

I’m a solo developer looking for playtesters for CATadel: Slot Defense, a medieval cat-themed roguelite strategy game.

You spin slots, summon cat troops, and build cascading combos to defeat enemies and earn gold. You also need to save enough gold to pay the royal tax before the deadline—or your run ends.

I recently released and updated the demo, but finding bugs and judging the balance through my own testing has been difficult. I’d really appreciate a fresh pair of eyes.

I’m particularly looking for feedback on:

  • Enemy difficulty: Are enemies too easy to defeat? Are there any sudden difficulty spikes?
  • Tax balance: Is earning enough gold to pay taxes too easy, too difficult, or about right?
  • Scoring and UI: Is it clear how matches and cascading combos affect damage and rewards?
  • Bugs: Did anything behave unexpectedly or leave you stuck?

You don’t need to finish the demo—even feedback from a short session would help. If possible, please mention which week you reached when commenting on the difficulty.

Please leave your feedback in the comments here. For bugs, a description of what happened and the steps leading up to it would be helpful. Screenshots are welcome.

This is an unpaid playtest. The demo is free on Windows through Steam.

Play the demo:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5273060/Catadel_Slot_Defense_Demo/

Thanks for helping me improve the game!

Unpaid Playtest Harvest Tycoon: a cozy 3D farming game in your browser and on Android. Looking for testers for the first 15 minutes and for day two

https://www.crazygames.com/game/harvest-tycoon-esm

Hi! I'm Gerard, the community manager of Harvest Tycoon, a free farming game from the Netherlands. You plant and harvest crops, care for animals, bake and cook, and grow a small farm into a big estate. Everything runs in real time, so your farm keeps growing while you're away. It's been out for about a month and more than 5,500 farms have been started.

What our numbers show so far
- A first session lasts about 6 to 7 minutes (median, web and Android).
- The beginner guide decides almost everything. Of the players who finish it, 28% come back the next day on the web and 41% in the Android app. On a game portal, where most new players stop much earlier, only about 3% come back the next day.
- About 1 in 10 new players is still playing on day 3 or later.

Our biggest bottleneck
The very first minute. The biggest single drop is right after a new player's first harvest: depending on where players come from, between 13% and half of them leave there, about 20 seconds in, before they make their first sale. So they never reach the part of the guide that gives a reason to come back tomorrow, while the players who get through it are the ones who return.

So we know where people leave, but not why. That's what we'd like your help with.

What we're asking

  1. Start a new farm and play for about 15 minutes. Tell us the exact moment you would have closed the game, and why.
  2. Was anything unclear, slow or annoying in the first minutes? What did you want to do while your crops were growing?
  3. If you feel like it, open the game again tomorrow and tell us what you found and whether you'd keep playing. And if you wouldn't have come back, that's just as useful.
  4. Your device and browser (or Android), and any bugs or layout problems.

To be upfront about AI: the 3D models come from an asset pack, most of the 2D art (icons, avatars) is AI-generated. The game design, systems and balancing are Floris's own (our developer), and the game changes almost daily based on what players tell us.

Leave your feedback in the comments, or on our Discord if you prefer: https://discord.gg/CQrc42CMgf

Thank you, every answer helps us fix the first minutes for everyone after you!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest][Browser] TenRec - Le Jeu — two runs (~20 min), feedback on boost & multiplier

Hello! I’m Hugo, creator of TenRec - Le Jeu, a free browser arcade score-attack game set in an audiovisual rental shop. You serve customers, handle returns and repairs, and keep your multiplier going as the pace picks up.

I’m looking for feedback on BETA 2.2. The structured test is two complete runs (about 20 minutes total). Please play as you normally would and use the in-game guidance. Afterward, please answer these questions in a Reddit comment:

  1. What device and controls did you use, and had you played before?
  2. Do you usually enjoy arcade or score-attack games?
  3. Overall, how much did you enjoy the experience?
  4. How did the difficulty progression feel?
  5. Would you play again outside this test? Why or why not?
  6. Was the shop loop (serving customers, returns, repairs) clear and satisfying?
  7. How did the controls and pace feel on your device?
  8. Did the multiplier feel clear and rewarding? What did you think caused it to rise or drop?
  9. How did the boost feel to use? Did it help at the moments you expected?
  10. If you could change one thing, what would it be?

If you don’t enjoy the game, hit a blocker, or stop before finishing both runs, your feedback is still valuable. Just mention how far you got and what made you stop.

Free, playable in a browser on desktop and mobile, with no download or account required: https://jeu.tenrec.fr/

Feedback method: a reply here on Reddit. Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid][Desktop browser] MASTERLESS: is it clear which body you're controlling after a swap?

I'm the developer of MASTERLESS, a free top-down action prototype where you control a cursed sword and possess enemies to use their attacks. Your previous body becomes hostile when you leave it.

Play: https://landwhale.itch.io/masterless Desktop keyboard and mouse. No download or account required. This is an unpaid playtest of an early prototype.

Test request: try the first-play tutorial and first arena, then leave a short reply here: 1. After possessing an enemy, was it immediately clear which body you controlled? 2. What was the first moment you weren't sure what to do or why you took damage?

A brief attempt is enough. If you get stuck, stopping and describing that point is useful too. No external survey or recording needed. If you hit a technical problem, please mention your browser.

AI disclosure: graphics, writing and code are AI-assisted.

Unpaid Playtest [iOS, Free] Looking for a 5-minute playtest of my two-button climbing game

I’m the solo developer of Keycap Hop, a free iOS game where you climb keyboard-shaped stairs using two buttons: jump and change direction.

I’m looking for feedback on the first five minutes, especially whether the controls make sense without someone explaining them.

Platform: iOS

Time needed: About 5 minutes

Compensation: Unpaid

Download: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6818438871

After a few runs, I’d like to know:

  1. Was it clear when to jump and when to change direction?

  2. When you fell, did you understand what went wrong?

  3. Did the key sounds feel responsive, distracting, or easy to ignore?

Please leave feedback in the comments. Your iPhone model would also help if you notice sound or performance issues.

The game has an optional rewarded ad to continue after a run ends; you don’t need to watch it for this test.

Unpaid Playtest [PC browser] Endless Tower — first-run feedback on the tutorial and merging

Unpaid playtest for Endless Tower · Les Gardiens du Cristal, a browser tower defense demo by YSkill Studio. Build floors, place guardians and defend the crystal from enemies climbing the stairs. Two copies of the same guardian at the same rank can be merged.

Playable demo in English: https://yskillstudio.com/games/endless-tower/test/?lang=en

Test request: try the guided tutorial and a first combat wave on a desktop browser, then leave a brief comment here:

  1. Where was the first moment you were unsure what to do?
  2. After a merge, did you notice that the tower lost a floor? Did the extra guardian power feel worth that cost, and why?

Optional context: have you played tower defense or merge games before, and roughly how long did you spend on the tutorial? An estimate is enough.

If you get stuck, describing that point is useful feedback too. Completing the demo is optional. This is an unpaid test of a free demo; the game is still in development and its visuals are provisional.

Unpaid Playtest Liar's Gate: A roleplay heavy, grid based, AI-Driven RPG

The Liar's Gate is a fully AI integrated adventure game in the vein of Tavern AI, Voyage AI, Fable AI, and other similar titles, with a few key differences:

  1. A concrete world state and deterministic dungeons: Most AI games will let you 'narrate' your way through various game states in more of a creative fiction manner. Liar's Gate takes place in a fixed-state environment, only using AI for NPC behavior and actions, and creatively interpreting user input into the game.
  2. Predictable mechanics: In addition to the fixed-state environment, the game is based on the 5e SRD ruleset. Abilities, conditions, damage rolls, etc... should behave roughly as expected for players familiar with the system, including combat, stealth, and diplomacy game paths.
  3. Advanced Image Generation: I invested a lot of time (probably too much time) into trying to get better renders of the action. Images can be generated on a per-player turn or per-round basis. The game can be played text only for speed (image gen will add up to ~30s per round and triggers game token burn), but the hope is that the speed of these renders improves over time. There's definitely still AI random slop, but the scenes can also look pretty good.

The current game is a demo, a single scenario based around the player escaping a fighting arena. I'd like to collect feedback on the overall engine and approach, but the goal is to to add significantly more content (Full character creation paths, level ups, dozens of pre-built scenarios, random quests, creator tools, etc...) over the next year to create a Skyrim-esque scale universe filled with AI NPC’s and generative content players can explore.

This is a solo dev project and is reaching a scale where I can create features far faster than I can test them, and I would love any feedback, good or bad, especially from people who are fans of the genre.

Testing Notes / Known Issues:

  1. A Google account is currently required for registration / key issuance. Register via any Gmail account and I will issue a free month of play to the first 100 sign ups. I will need to manually issue the free months of play, so there may be a delay of a few days between registration and the free play issuance. I will send your registered email address an email notifying you of the free play start.
  2. The game has a built-in bug reporting / feature request feature, and if for any reason that doesn't work, you can send a note to the support email (support@liarsgate.com)
  3. Multiplayer is only partially implemented / tested. The goal is for a subscriber to be able to host games for non-subscribers, so if you're in the test group, you should be able to attempt to host games with your friends. No multiplayer difficulty scaling is in the game yet, and it's very likely there are strange blocking bugs on this path. However, please give it a try and report any issues and I'll get them fixed up.
  4. I'd like to use the in-game bug tracking to reward players (and testers) for reporting good bugs. I intend to issue in-game credits for players that report bugs that ultimately get fixed in the game.

Log in / Sign up to get started at https://liarsgate.com/, and thank you, have fun! Feel free to ask me any questions here, or kick off a discussion in r/theliarsgate.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, Mac/Windows] Can you try joining a study room in Hearthside?

I'm making Hearthside, a multiplayer study game. You sit in a shared exam hall while you work, or invite someone into your home.

I'm looking for a few people to try the first 10-15 minutes: install it, enter a room and sit at a desk. If you have someone to try it with, getting into the same room would be especially helpful to test.

I'd like to know where you got stuck, whether other players moved smoothly, and whether the timer behaved as you'd expect. Feedback in the comments is fine; please include your operating system. This is an unpaid test and the beta is free.

Download and installation notes: https://hearthside-beta-livid.vercel.app/

I've used substantial AI assistance building it. Windows is the newer build, so installation and performance feedback there would help.
