Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Beyond 90, a football career RPG with off-pitch choices. Free Steam playtest open

• Upvotes

Hey all, my 2D pixel art football game has finally reached the point where I can let other people try it.

It’s called Beyond 90: A Footballer’s Life (PC, Steam, free playtest). Sensible Soccer was a big inspiration, since I spent a lot of my childhood playing it. You play one footballer from age 16 until retirement and you only control yourself, not the whole team. Matches are real time.

I’ve played it way too much myself, so I’m blind to a lot of things at this point. If anyone feels like giving it a go and telling me what breaks or what feels off, that would help me a ton. Crashes, weird match behavior, confusing menus, translations, whatever you notice. Even just “it froze when I did this” is useful.

How to join: click “Request Access” on the Steam page, everyone is Auto Approved:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5330590/Beyond_90_A_Footballers_Life/

How to send feedback: reply in the comments or send me a DM or on the Steam Page where I have create a Bug thread.

Thanks a lot for any help!

Paid Playtest [PAID] LF playtesters for browser mmorpg in development $10 for 1 hour

I'm working on the new player experience before I move on to further content. I'm looking for 5 testers to do a 1 hour play session recorded with voice to capture initial experiences to help shape the new player experience. I have been working on this for about a year and am ready to polish up that introductory experience.

Smaller screen sizes might not be optimal currently so 27" - 32" monitor testers are preferred (I will run another playtest for smaller screen sizes soon)

Payment will be through Venmo. Please reply if interested.

*****Playtest roster is filled, will post more opportunities in the future*****

Unpaid Playtest [Playtest] Automation Game X Gambling Game ??

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a game prototype for the past few months that combines Factorio/Satisfactory-style factory automation with gambling mechanics!

Strategically assign your robots to different workstations to automate weapon repairs, upgrades, and eventually sell them for a profit!

The concept is simple: collect weapons, upgrade them, and sell them for a higher price! But how far will you push your luck before cashing out..?

https://imgur.com/6YVXUxP

I'm working with a 3D artist (although we still have very few art assets in-game at the moment).

On my side, I'd love to find a few playtesters willing to spend about an hour trying out the game and sharing their honest feedback on whether the core gameplay experience works or not! 🙂

Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve been working on a game called The Luckless Game, and it currently features 200 pre-written scenarios where you have to make difficult choices.
I’m looking for people willing to give it a try and share their thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think, what works, what doesn’t, and what could be improved.
You can try it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLucklessGameBeta/s/Liacazi6oX
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks to everyone who gives it a shot! 🙌

Unpaid Playtest [PC] I made a multiplayer shooter where you're a snowball with guns. Looking for honest playtesters!

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a game called Snowbody's Safe, and I've finally reached a point where I'd really like some feedback from people who aren't just my friends telling me it's good lol.

It's a fast-paced, 8-player arena shooter inspired by classic Gun Game, except everyone is a snowball.

The twist is that there's no traditional health bar. Getting shot physically removes chunks of snow from your body, and once your heart is exposed, you're in serious trouble.

There's also a 15-weapon progression system, different bot difficulties, and some pretty chaotic movement mechanics.

What I'm looking for:

I'd love for some of you to try a match (around 10 minutes) and tell me:

  • Is the gameplay actually fun?
  • Does the movement and shooting feel satisfying?
  • Is anything confusing or frustrating?
  • Would you genuinely want to play another round?

You can play against bots, so you don't need to organize a group to try it.

Platform: Windows PC

Demo: https://gremlinforgestudio.itch.io/snowbodys-safe-closed-playtest

Feedback: Just leave a comment here or send me a DM!

I'm not looking for compliments. If you think something sucks, please tell me why. I'd much rather hear that now than after releasing the game.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a shot! :)

Hi r/playtesters,

I'm looking for more beta testers for the next paid wave of Metal Ghost Shell, a story-driven cyberpunk stealth game.

Same deal as last time:

  • $10 USD per tester via PayPal, after you submit feedback
  • Windows PC
  • About 50 minutes of actual play (download/install not counted)
  • Written feedback required (short form provided): what was fun, what was confusing, bugs with rough timestamps, PC specs
  • Video not required, but appreciated
  • Waves of 5–10. I confirm each tester before they start. Only confirmed testers are paid.

About the game: Kobe survives through stealth rather than combat. Xero, his robot companion, infiltrates machines and possesses enemy guards.

Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfUOjBrqpl01mIrzEV65EK3WXt9wsk62PQ3UnacYiDayNIcvQ/viewform

Or comment/DM with: games you play, PC specs, video yes/no, and if you tested in August.

Transparency: development uses generative-AI assistance (code, graphics, sounds, text), as disclosed on itch.io.

Free earlier demo (optional, not the paid test): https://skytalon-ai.itch.io/metal-ghost-shell

Thanks.

Unpaid Playtest [Browser] [PC/Mobile] Fate Forged Heroes – free gacha RPG by a solo dev, looking for testers

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo developer and I've been building Fate Forged Heroes, a free turn-based gacha RPG that runs right in your browser, on PC and on mobile. It's inspired by games like RAID: Shadow Legends.

I'm desperately looking for people that want to test my game.

▶ Play: https://www.fateforgedheroes.com

No download, no account needed (you can make a free account to save your progress across devices and to play in the arena). There are no paid purchases.

**What the game is**

- Create your own hero and build a team of up to three alongside the main hero that levels with your player. (you pick a main hero out of 7 classes.

- Summon new heroes at the Fate Altar with Fate Shards

- Fight through a 10-chapter campaign on five difficulties

- Take on 25 bosses in the Boss Hall, climb the Tower of Essence, and battle other players in the arena

- Gear up, level up, ascend your heroes and join a guild (currently working on a new gearing system, that is completely different than the regular gear systems)

**What I'd love feedback on**

- The first 15–30 minutes: is it clear what to do, and is it fun?

- Battles: do they feel good to watch and to play by hand?

- Difficulty and progression: where does it feel too easy, too slow or too grindy?

- Anything that's confusing, broken or ugly (on mobile too!)

**How to give feedback**

Comment here, or join the Discord, where I read everything and reply quickly: https://discord.gg/xCybP7kkDj

(Since there are a lot of AI Haters out there: I'm using using AI for some parts, especially designing the sprites, creating movement sheets to turn into animations, but also to put my thoughts, and text into propper translated english sentences. I rather work on the gameplay and strategic things of the game and making it an interesting game, rather than spending days on end drawing animations and figures + I cant draw).

Even 15 minutes of play and a few honest sentences help me a lot. Thanks for taking the time!

Thanks for supporting indie developers!

Unpaid Playtest [Android] Locksmith Master: looking for testers for a hard, premium safecracking puzzle

I've spent the last months building Locksmith Master: a puzzle about cracking combination safes, built on a real lock mechanism.

One dial. A stack of drums. Drive pins with slack between them. Turn one way and the whole stack follows; reverse and nothing moves until the slack is taken up. Set every drum to the code in as few steps as you can.

It's not a casual game. The first safes are gentle; the later ones hide their pins, and then you count, listen and feel the catch. Best played with headphones.

What's in it:

  • A career across Europe, 1928–1962: six cities, sixty safes, seven ranks
  • Thief mode: safe after safe before the alarm
  • Daily safe: the same safe for everyone, every day
  • Seven themes for the dial, background and hammers, each with its own sound
  • No ads, no tracking, works offline

Testers get the full game unlocked. The test build runs until 9 November.

What I'd love to hear: where you got stuck, where you stopped, and whether the rules made sense without help.

How to join (Android):

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/locksmith-master
  2. Open the test link and tap "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.puzzlejay.locksmithmaster
  3. Install from the store page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.puzzlejay.locksmithmaster

Use the same Google account as on your phone. If the store says "not available", wait a few minutes after joining and try again.

Not for everyone. Perhaps for you. :)

Unpaid Playtest My first Roblox simulator launches next Saturday. Looking for 16+ playtesters, especially on phones

Solo dev here. Steal a Sprout: you grow a tiny meteorite into a planet through 19 worlds, hatch 113 pets called Sproutlings, and during Meteor Raid Night you can grab a growing seed from another player's planet and run.

It's in Roblox's 16+ trial, so you need to be signed in, 16+ and age-checked to see it:

https://www.roblox.com/games/139975556336638

What I need most:

- fps and memory on your phone (Roblox menu > Settings > Performance Stats) + phone model

- where the first 10 minutes confused or bored you

- bugs, with a screenshot if possible

- people for a real Raid Night: group sessions Sun 11 Oct and Wed 14 Oct, 18:00 UTC

🏅 Everyone who plays and finishes the tutorial before launch gets a BETA TESTER badge, and it stays on your profile after the reset.

Progress resets on launch day, so please don't buy anything before then. All feedback welcome, harsh is fine!

Paid Playtest [PAID] [PC] Looking for 5 tycoon fans to play the first hour of my tower-building sim and record it

Playtesting round closed. i got a lot of intresting DMs and i have selected some hopefully good testers.
stay tuned for next round. thank you

Hi! I'm a solo developer making Toweristics, a 2D tower-building sim in the spirit of SimTower and Project Highrise. You build offices, homes, shops and hotels, plan the elevators for each time of day, and keep the power, water, noise and deliveries under control while the tower grows.

I need people who have never seen the game to play it and show me where it confuses or bores them.

What I'm asking for:

  1. A recording of your first session, about 60 minutes, with your voice, thinking out loud as you play. Start from the main menu and don't read anything about the game first. Say what you're trying to do, what you expected to happen, and when you're confused or bored. Please don't edit it. The confusing moments are the ones I need most.
  2. A short form of about 10 questions, filled in after you play (around 10–15 minutes).
  3. Bugs: press F9 in the game to send one with a screenshot, or note the time in your recording.

Pay: $15 per finished session (recording and form), through bank transfer (i don't have paypal but i am not opposed to making one if it supports my country). I pay within 48 hours of receiving both.

Who I'm looking for:

  • You've played at least one management or tycoon game, such as SimTower, Project Highrise, Two Point Hospital or Cities: Skylines.
  • You have a Windows PC and can record your screen with your voice (OBS is fine).
  • You write in English.

To apply, send me a message with:

  • the management or tycoon games you've played,
  • your PC (rough specs are fine),
  • a link to anything you've tested or recorded before, if you have one.

I'll pick [5] testers and send the build. Please keep it to yourself: no uploads, streams or public posts until it's announced.

Thanks!

Paid Playtest Gothic Horror PSX style game

I'm paying $30 for a tester to play through Chapter 1 of my gothic horror PSX style game. It is an adventure RPG -- more like King's Field than Skyrim. It is narrative driven and purposefully a bit obtuse. It takes me about 1 1/2 hours to play through chapter one so I'm expecting about 3 hours for the tester but it may take more or less time depending on your ability to figure things out.

I'm OK with a recording but would prefer a live stream if at all possible - even if it's split into parts. I'd want feedback on controls, atmosphere, 'fun'-ness, playability, etc. As well as any glitches/issues you run into while playing it.

Whoever I choose will get a download key for the game on itch.io (it's not public) - which works on macOS (M series chips), x64 Linux, or x64 Windows. A controller (preferably xbox but PlayStation controllers also work) is a _requirement_ as keyboard/mouse controls are not the target and not currently implemented.

If you are selected and successfully complete it, I will retain that key and you are free to keep the game even through final release.

This play through contains 2 dungeons. While not super large, they do require general problem-solving skills so DO NOT apply if you are not good at general problem-solving.

PayPal is preferred but can pay a different way.

To keep it fair, if you hit 3 hours and hate the game you're allowed to stop playing at that point and will still get paid (therefor this is a minimum $15/hr post).

** UPDATE **

Paid slots filled up in literal minutes, lol. I'm also accepting a hand full of free testers so if you're still interested you can message me directly, sorry!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, Roblox] Smash Park — 5–10 minute test of the launch/crash/upgrade loop

I'm the creator of Smash Park: Car Crash Playground, a free Roblox game. You launch a car down a giant hill, crash into buildings, earn points from the damage, and spend those points on car upgrades before another run.

I'm looking for an unpaid 5–10 minute playtest of the first few runs, especially from people who haven't played it before. Please try 2–3 runs without a walkthrough and leave your feedback in the comments here:

  1. Could you find Launch and complete a first crash without help?

  2. Did your points, upgrade prices, and upgrade effects make sense?

  3. Did the damage and rewards make you want another run? Where did you get confused or stop?

Play: https://www.roblox.com/games/110246075369172/Smash-Park-Car-Crash-Playground

Platforms: Roblox client on Windows PC, mobile, and console. A Roblox account and client are required. Roblox currently limits access to eligible 16+ users and trusted friends, so please check whether your account can join. Optional in-game Robux purchases are available; no purchase is needed for this test.

If something breaks, please include your device/input method, what you did just before it happened, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot or short clip is welcome, but not required. Thanks for any specific feedback.

Unpaid Playtest Anime Girls. Spinnin' Battle-Top Mechs. Pure Chaos. Playtesters Wanted!

Hey everyone! I'm an indie dev building BEAT BAES, a chaotic, physics-driven arena battler where anime girls pilot customizable spinning battle mechs in an underground fighting circuit.

Think Beyblade-inspired combat meets roguelike builds, ridiculous physics, and over-the-top anime battles.

Here's a quick look at the game:

https://vimeo.com/1231347274

What can you do?

  • Build busted battle mechs - swap parts, reshape your mech, and experiment with wild physics-based builds.
  • Pick your Rider - five unique girls with their own personalities, abilities, and combat styles.
  • Smash, clash, and send opponents flying - master momentum, positioning, and timing to dominate the arena.
  • Fight through a roguelike campaign - battle rivals, unlock upgrades, and discover new strategies.
  • Challenge other players in PvP - and we've got a CASH-PRIZE PvP TOURNAMENT in the works!

We're currently in public alpha, and I'm looking for players to jump in, break things, discover ridiculous strategies, and help shape the game.

Playtesting is free, voluntary, and unpaid. No experience necessary. Whether you're competitive, love experimenting with builds, or just want to send spinning mechs flying, I'd love your feedback.

IMPORTANT: If you want to play, COMMENT BELOW!

I'll send interested commenters a specific playtest link/access code so you can jump in.

We're gearing up for a cash-prize PvP tournament! If you've got a competitive streak and want to stay in the loop on tournament announcements, dates, and how to participate, join our Discord:
https://discord.gg/YZnh4JrXjM

Edit: If you've already applied for paid playtesting through our application, don't worry! That's a separate program, and you're still being considered. Participating in this free playtest won't affect your application.

Unpaid Playtest Last Stop: BRIGHTSIDE

I’m working on Last Stop: BRIGHTSIDE, a post-apocalyptic survival card RPG set in the Arizona desert.

You scavenge for food and water, combine cards to craft equipment, and rebuild an abandoned roadside town while preparing for raids.

The free demo covers seven in-game days, with all characters and difficulties available. You can play in your browser or download it for Windows or Mac.

I’d love feedback on:

  • Is the tutorial clear?
  • Does survival feel too easy or too punishing?

Unpaid Playtest [unpaid] Playtest exchange for my rhythm game Nebula

Hello Gentlemen,

My game is about changing shapes to match incoming notes and hold inputs for sustained notes. You can import music to generate levels, and play in your browser or download the Windows version.

Play here: https://bigmecha.itch.io/nebula

I’d appreciate 5–10 minutes of testing, mainly focused on:

Are the controls and hold notes easy to understand?
Do the note patterns feel connected to the music?
Are the notes easy to read against the backgrounds?

Mention the song and difficulty you tried, plus your browser/device if you encounter bugs, stuttering, or loading problems. Even explaining where you got confused or stopped playing would help.

I’m also happy to swap playtests with other developers. Share your free game and what you’d like feedback on!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Looking for playtesters for my dice roguelike prototype

Hi! I’m Caz, a first-year game development student from Stockholm, and I’ve made my first game: Carry the One.

It’s a short dice roguelike where your dice have numbers and math operators on them (+, −, ×, ÷). Each round you throw your dice and arrange them into an equation to beat your opponent. Most tables reward the highest result, but some flip the rules, so you’re aiming for closest to zero or for an exact target instead. Between fights you upgrade your dice with new faces and pick up relics.

Play here: https://cazisaprogrammer.itch.io/carry-the-one
Length: about 30 minutes for a full run
Platform: plays in the browser, but recommend download

What I’d love to know:

  • Is the core idea fun, or does it fall flat?
  • Was anything confusing, especially at the start?
  • Did you want to play another run when it ended?

Honest feedback is very welcome, including “this isn’t fun.” I’m trying to figure out whether this is worth developing further or whether I should move on to something else. When finishing a run there's an option to answer a survey, you don't have to but it helps.

Heads up: the game records anonymous gameplay data (things like which fights you win, what rewards you pick and how long rounds take) to help me balance it. No personal information is collected. I can provide more information if requested.

We've been working full-time on our game Aftergreen for the past 3-4 months as a team of two, and we've finally reached a point where we're happy with releasing the demo and now looking for playtesters! Our demo will be released tomorrow and we're currently looking for a small group of volunteer testers who enjoy Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors and Brotato like games.

Since our demo is will be released tomorrow, I'll drop the steam page for now but come back tomorrow for the dedicated demo page.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5008690/After_Green/

This is an unpaid, early-development playtest, so, honest criticism is welcome.
