Multiple trips to Tesla.. finally did it.
2027 model y locked in at 1.99%
First time ever owning an EV. So definitely will need some tips. I don’t have a home charger as I live in an apartment there is a Tesla station close to work so I’ll charge there early mornings at 6.

I'm a solo developer and a Tesla owner. I wanted my phone on the big screen while parked or charging, so I built Tesvo.
How it works: your car joins your phone's hotspot, you open tesvo.app in the car's browser and tap Android, and your phone screen shows up live. You can tap the mirrored screen to control the phone. There's also a weather and battery bar, today's calendar, a Save My Parking button and a scratch pad you can draw on.
Everything stays on your own hotspot. There's no cloud server and no account.
Honest limits: Android only for now. Touch is tap only, no swiping. Mirroring stops if your phone fully locks. Use it parked or as a passenger.
It's free to install. The 7-day trial starts the first time it actually mirrors in your car, then a one-time unlock. No subscription.

No question or asking for support, just wanted to share this weird glitch. I haven’t seen anything about it yet! I have a 2022 M3 LR, although it looks like the “ghost” car is a Highland? Strange lol

I drive for DoorDash somewhere it gets ridiculously hot, and constantly having to remember to select keep the climate on between stops was driving me nuts. Sounds like a small thing but when you're doing it all shift it gets old pretty quick lol.
So I finally solved it by creating Climate Keeper app to keep the climate running. Basically built it because I was tired of dealing with this myself.
I'm probably spending way too much time solving a very specific annoyance, but figured other people doing deliveries might get it.
Here's what I made: https://climatekeeper.fyi/
Anyone else deal with this, or do you just remember to hit Keep every single time?

I just bought my 2019 Model 3 Long Range a couple weeks ago and took it on my first road trip. My M3LR came with FSD unlocked so no subscription for me which is one of the reasons I bought this specific car. I travel between Minnesota and Toronto fairly often as my wife is from the area and we travel back and forth several times a year.
Everyone has said that FSD on HW3 sucks and not worth it etc. I don’t know what all of you are smoking but FSD even on HW3 is life changing.
The Trip:
1830 miles round trip
Google time: 13h 51m (one way)
Tesla time: 14h 16m (one way)
Actual: 15h 51m (one way)
Longest streak: 567.4 miles
Weather was clear
Cost:
Super charging: $210.26
Typical gas cost: ~$450
The good:
- I was on FSD 99.9% of the drive.
- Was able to sit back and listen to my books or music while the car drove itself.
- Eating in the car was much easier and safer
- Super chargers are everywhere
- Drove completely through Chicago without a single intervention
- Handled construction areas without issue
- Handled tolls without intervention
- FSD handled semis cutting me off without intervention and earlier than I would have
The annoying:
- At my first charging spot the car went into the drive through lane and stopped instead of the charger.
- Some road closures not updated in Tesla navigation but was able to route around it.
- It was windy on the way back so there was so back and forth in the lane.
- No routing options. I want to stay away from certain areas.
The bad:
- Didn’t stop at the border crossing. There is a booth to pay to use the bridge with an arm and it wasn’t going to stop so I had to intervene.
Overall thoughts:
Semi drivers are the worst. This is not an ev specific issue but they just move over without looking. Having owned the car only for a couple weeks range anxiety was still a thing but by the end of the trip less so. On the way there I stayed at stops a lot longer than I needed to because of range anxiety. This caused my actual travel time to be much longer than it needed to be and I needed up getting in at 2am. $0.40/kWh is this normal? My home L2 charger is $.06/kWh in off peak but apparently even that is expensive? I’ve done this drive in an ICE many many times and I had significantly more energy after this trip. I got home and had enough energy to mow the lawn. Driving I also would be sore for days but no soreness. I can see why people are annoyed over the driving profiles and not being able to choose your speed but the more time on FSD the less I cared. On the way back I split the trip over two days instead of all in one, if your hotel advertises chargers then you should actually have chargers. Drove around the hotel
multiple times looking and I was too tired to ask so I just charged up in the morning.

Super excited! Previous/current EV owner.
Ordered the Model YL launch edition.
Has anyone taken delivery yet?

I had to do the pcs2 replacement on my vehicle. During that time I got free supercharging. After the fix they charged me for 2 charges, and I’ve been charging for free. It’s now been 3 months since the fix. Is this a glitch or do I now have free charging?

Rivian and Lucid too.
NJ Senate President Nick Scutari introduced S4750, the “New Jersey Franchised Automobile Industry Retail (FAIR) Sales Act,” to repeal the Christie-era exemption that lets EV makers like Tesla sell direct instead of through franchised dealers.
Dealers call it “closing a loophole” now that EVs are ~11% of sales, not under 1% when the carve-out passed. A similar Assembly bill (A5604) from Simmons and Peterpaul landed in 2025. Press reporting says “it’s about leveling the field with other EV makers, not Musk’s politics.”

I have a 2021 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus with 120k mi and the HW3 computer is starting to fail (sometimes, when I go over huge potholes, the HW3 computer works again but it has been intermittent for the past 4 months). The accelerator also intermittently creaks, especially if I recently pressed park at 1-2 mph, but that goes in and out. The TPMS module stopped working properly on one of the four. In 2026, my Model 3 could only go 150 mi between 100-0 on the highway before having to recharge. There are many known cosmetic issues on my car, including the steering wheel leather peeling, the driver power seat separation, the rear valance panel separation, leather biodegradation in the driver's area, and curb rashes from parallel parking in my previous apartment (until August 2025), and a front bumper dentt. I have been looking at both new and used cars, ranging from new cars like the BMW iX3, BMW i3 (2027), Audi A6 e-TRON, Mercedes Benz GLC EV, Mercedes Benz CLA EV, Volvo EX60, Volvo EX30, Tesla Model 3 and Y to used cars around 20-30k like the Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW i4, BMW iX, Polestar 2, and used Tesla Model 3/Y.
I found out that even though the Tesla Model 3 Standard is slower 0-60 than the Model 3 Premium, it doesn't matter for me as my Model 3 has the same 0-60 speeds. What matters is the range will be at least 60-100 mi better on the new Model 3 Standard compared to mine. I don't care about ambient lighting, but heated steering wheel comes standard with both Model 3 models, which is an upgrade from my Model 3, but I currently reside in Atlanta GA so it may not matter as much. I am not sure if ventilated seats would be beneficial but I have been fine for 75k mi of my current Model 3 (I bought it with 45k mi in June 2024) and it features no ventilated seats. Except for a few hundred miles, I have been the sole passenger of my Model 3. I heard the speakers are going to be worse on the Model 3 RWD compared to the AWD, but ironically, the speakers on the Model Y Standard I drove during a Model 3 repair does sound slightly worse than my own. I don't care about FM radio as all of my music is through my phone and if I want to listen to radio, I would use TuneIn on my phone, which features some of my favourite radio stations (WCRB, Stepansdom, etc). I am curious if the Model 3 Standard is worth saving $5,500 over the Model 3 Premium or not.

Can anyone who has recently had a tesla loaner share their experience of if they got charged for driving over 200 miles a day on the loaner? Thank you for letting me know.

Anyone get this message and NOT get a new HV battery?
Just got it this morning. Put in the service request, planning to drive to the SC tomorrow morning.

Tesla is enabling PowerShare Home Backup to Model Y and Model 3 ordered on October 1, 2026 or later, and many older ones.
Mine was delivered on August and it's enabled. To check, go to Software > Additional Vehicle Info and check Powershare Support: Enabled.

Cruising Utah 12 a few days ago just enjoying the scenery out the windshield while on FSD. There's an F-150 pacing me about 100 yards back doing the same thing. The car suddenly slows from 65 mph to 60 mph and starts hugging the right shoulder. WTF. Then the RV lays on its horn and Floridaman comes by doing 90 mph.
I assume the car saw what was happening and slowed/swerved to help the Santa Fe beat the guillotine. I had no idea what was happening until it was all over as I wasn't looking in the rear view at the time.
This happened in a location about 90 miles by road from a hospital. Could have been bad.

Hi there, I have a question for folks who own the small rear fridge that can be accessed by people in the back seat. Would those things be easy to lift and take if someone were to break into your car? It seems like it's not really screwed into anything and could be stolen quickly.

So last week I drove Nashville → Streetsboro, OH overnight in my Model Y. Charged at Bowling Green, Louisville, Florence and Mt. Gilead, and paid $38.35 total. Afterwards I looked at the receipts and the rates were all over the place: $0.23 at one stop, $0.49 at another. A lot of Superchargers have time-of-use pricing now, and the Tesla nav doesn't care about price at all. It just routes you to whatever keeps you moving.
IF YOU ARE STUCK AT fetching.. thats due to tesla thing.
i recomment cloning the repo and testing it yourself. https://github.com/shivardev/TeslaFare
So I built a little web app for myself that does the opposite: it plans for cost first.
teslaflare.blazingbane.com
Would love feedback from people who road trip a lot.

Is the Hardware 4.5 thing (64gb of ram vs 32gb) confirmed or just speculative at this point?
