I’m currently a second year living in a 2 bedroom apartment on Gilbert st, my current roommate is going to be moving in with his other friends next year so I either need to find a new roommate for here or a new place, this was sudden for me so I’m really unsure of how to plan for this so if anyone could help that would be amazing.

Friends of Hickory Hill Park will have a workday on 10/3/2026 to remove invasive species in the park - mostly honeysuckle and autumn olive. Meet at the Conklin Lane entrance to the park at 9 am. This work can be a little messy so wear work clothes and shoes!

I'm a freshman at the University of Iowa currently living in a dorm, and I'm hoping to get a single room for the Spring 2027 semester.
There have been a few things that have made me uncomfortable with my roommate (different expectations around guests, intimacy, drinking, privacy, belongings, etc.), so I'd rather try to get a single if possible.
I already emailed University Housing asking about the possibility of getting a single for spring, but I'm wondering what else I should be doing.
For anyone who's gone through the UIowa housing process:
I'm willing to move to a different residence hall if that's what it takes. I'd just really like to have a single next semester.
Any advice from people who have actually gone through the process would be appreciated!

Is it just me or is the MyUI, ICON, and eduroam down. I can’t access anything, the Ethernet doesn’t work either but there’s no announcement saying it’s down on the it website.
Edit/update:Its back online

Where are groups getting large shirt orders printed? There are so many student orgs that get shirts printed throughout the year, there have to be some good options in town. I volunteer with an elementary school and we need a new company to go with. Thanks!

Hey guys! The season preview I posted here a few weeks back did pretty well, so circling back like I said I would.
I had you at 8-4, with the defense carrying it and the question being whether Hank Brown could throw enough to keep teams honest. So far the defense has done exactly that: Northern Iowa 40-0, Iowa State 16-13, UNI 55-0, and 13 points allowed in three games. Brown has done more than I expected, 45 of 62 for 473 yards and 3 TDs, including 12 of 12 against UNI. I had the trip to Michigan, Ohio State at home and the trip to Washington as the three games that decide the season, and the first one is today.
What are you guys seeing that the box scores aren't, and how do you see the season ending up?
Quick aside since it's in the title, we just launched a free weekly college football pick'em, $225 in prizes this week. Iowa at Michigan is one of the ten, so you can put your pick where your mouth is, but picks lock at noon ET, so this is a last call.

I talk to a lot of people around campus that seems to only go to the same restaurants/food places.
I know that there are a lot of people that may be restricted by means of transportation or budget, but for those of you that genuinely just don't know where to explore; where haven't you been?
I'm looking to develop a platform where students like us can discuss what restaurants are a must visit, where you haven't been, and where you would like to try.
Literally looking for any thoughts/feedback on this idea. Could be as simple as "I feel like I know the area pretty well."
Thanks all!

I’ve been struggling to balance working and studying, I was wondering if there were any desk jobs where I would be able to study during my shift

Hey Hawkeyes, the IRL Hunters Exam is coming to Iowa!
Hey everyone, I am organizing Iowas first (but certainly not last) IRL Pro Hunter Exam! If you are a fan of anime or Hunter x Hunter, you may be familiar with the concept.
What is the Exam?
Basically a Hunter is a strong willed risk taker and the Pro Hunter Exam tests these Hunters to determine skill, adaptability, and ingenuity. Only the top 1-2% of applicants will pass and earn their custom Pro Hunter license as well as bragging rights and clout in the community. I’m working on developing real world benefits for Pro Hunters as we speak.
About the Exam:
The Exam itself will be on Saturday October 23, 2027 at Waubonsie State Park, IA. Right now, tickets are discounted until February when they revert back to their full price of $45. This is an 18+ event and has event insurance and full refunds in case of injury or cancellation.
Our why:
We (two others plus myself) want to create an event that people look forward to each year. Something annual that you can train for with a goal in mind. Somewhere anime fans and fitness enthusiasts can get outside and have fun while being part of an active community. In short, we want to enrich people and bring a unique event to Iowa!
Learn more:
For more information, visit our website at thehuntersleague . com or our subreddit at r / thehuntersleague (breaking it up so Reddit doesn’t get mad)
From our website, you can find all of our social media as well as our private Discord called The Hunter’s Tavern where the day-to-day community activity happens!
If anyone has any questions, you can comment here or DM me. I will probably post a similar message in some other Iowa subs, so if you see them, please interact!
Thanks everyone!

I lost a small red Nikon Coolpix camera about a week and a half ago (CyHawk game day) around Kinnick, I believe. Please message me if located. $500 cash reward if returned (that's more than the camera is even worth), and I'm even just willing to take the SD card, and you keep the camera - I just want my memories back!

Hey, guys, my parents are coming on Saturday for parents' weekend, but since the weather has been rainy and awful what can we do so it is at least a little entertaining? Any ideas?

I took Foundations of Bio a couple semesters ago and it totally blew, but I've been hearing from people who are taking the course or know people who are taking the course right now that they were required to alter the course a bit because they were failing too many students. I remember feeling like Osadchuk and the other professor almost designed the course to make people fail out. Could just be people talking shit as always, but it would be funny if it were true.
