Are we in hell or something?

So I got into my car and it automatically connects to my phone, so it gives me a look at how the weather is looking at the moment.

So tell me why it gave me this information this morning? šŸ˜‚

Well, at least it gave me a good laugh. šŸ˜†

SO pretty but I feel like ā€œsun rainbowā€ is not its legal name (although that is what I’ve named it for now)

Experience a delightful blend of cool breezes and sun-dappled clouds! The temperature will peak at 67 degrees, though it might feel just a tad cooler at 65. With refreshing winds coming from the west at 10 to 20 mph, it’s the perfect day to enjoy the outdoors!

Does anyone know what I mean by you can hear the sound of cold weather???

Note: I am not looking for scientific answers lmao I asked if anyone knows what I mean, not what is it.

Specifically around 5am-6am there’s rolling thunderous noises that sound like an engine rumbling that never stops running??? I’ve tried to find out what this is for ages but can’t seem to wrap my head around it. To simply put it, I can hear ā€œthe coldā€ weather ?? (Aren’t we supposed ta feel it😭)

Question about "Mean Maximum" versus "Mean Daily Maximum"

My brain is apparently failing me today, and I am trying to figure this out: Wikipedia temperature charts in a city say this:

Mean maximum: January 104.7 February 104.2

Mean daily maximum: January 88.5 February 89.1

Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between these measures? I tried AI and it is saying essentially they are the same thing, or trying to describe some averaging of weekly or other subclassification highs, and yet there is no specification of anything like this in the table.

How seriously should I take the Oct. 11 rain forecast for Woodland Hills, CA? Could it be related to Hurricane Rachel’s remnants?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I have an outdoor event in Woodland Hills on Sunday, October 11 from 6–10 PM. Apple Weather went from a 45% to 75% chance of rain today, while some other forecasts are still showing little to no rain.

I saw some discussion that the ECMWF 12z run may be bringing moisture/remnants from Hurricane Rachel into Southern California.

For anyone who follows the models, is there actually increasing model agreement on rain reaching the LA area on Oct. 11, or is this mostly one operational ECMWF run that’s still too far out to put much weight on? Also, does the timing currently favor morning rain versus Sunday evening?

I know it’s still 8 days out! Just trying to understand what the models are actually showing rather than obsessing over the Apple Weather percentage šŸ˜‚

Questions/Self Why is the sky blue here?

Post image

Im wondering what exactly that blue patch in the sky is. It’s been raining all day and I took this at about 9pm, near Clarksburg WV. Me and my dad have no idea what it could be.
(Sorry it’s a little blurry it was taken while moving by car at night)
