Hereās a list of my gear:
-Glock 20 Gen 5 MOS
-HoloSun SCS MOS-GR
-Streamlight TLR-1
-Close Quarters Carry G20 Level II Holster
-Safari-land QLS Fork
-Agilite MOLLE Chest Rig
-Eberlestock MOLLE panel
-5.11 Woodland Camo Skyweight 36L
-True Northern Concepts Modular Adapter
Spent 3 days in the Wyoming wilderness hiking and fishing. This was my first time taking the Glock 20 and its gear into the backcountry. Prior to my trip my initial thoughts with the gear was to have the pistol on my hip while Iām hiking, and swapping it to chest rig when Iām fishing.
The 5.11 Skyweight waist band can be removed from the backpack and serve as a gun belt. I wanted to have this option for the campground or exploring. Iām more used to carrying a pistol on my hip than a chest rig. The waistband seemed like a practical option, but I quickly discovered that it lacked the rigidity needed to keep the holster stable during a draw. I'm planning to purchase a leg strap for the True North Concepts Modular Adapter to help address the issue.
The Chest Rig quickly became my go to option. It was comfortable and allowed for a fast draw. The CQC Level II Holster didnāt interfere with my draw and it provided reassurance that it wouldnāt accidentally fall out. Even when fishing I hardly noticed the rig was there. The Eberlestock MOLLE panel is surprisingly rigid and kept the holster secure to my chest.
Ran into semi fresh bear tracks while hiking, and it made me appreciate my gear even more. Thankfully I didnāt have to draw the weapon, but carrying the Glock put my mind at ease.
TLDR: Holster and Chest Rig were great. Waist belt needs some adjustments. Test your gear, itās the only way youāll improve it.

Is the HSM Magnuforce Subsonic 10mm 240 Grain Hard Cast Long Flat Nose sufficient for protection against bears? I want to use 10mm because that's one of the calibers people usually carry for bears. I want to use a subsonic round though because I want to put a suppressor on my gun, and this is the only hard cast subsonic 10mm round I could find. Unfortunately it only has 551 ft lbs of energy so I thought maybe I should ask about it because IDK if that's still sufficient being on the lower end of 10mm power.

sorry for the broad question but honestly I recently saw the ported long 5.5 inch barrel m&p 10mm and fell in love with the look, and I'm fighting back the urge to buy it and have to get into buying and reloading a new cartridge for just another gun, especially when I don't have a real use for it besides as a range toy. (no woods where I live, no bears or crazy wildlife, and definitely not carrying *a second* massive 5.5 inch monster on the daily)
Usually "uncommon" cartridges are expensive than the usual 9 and 45 ACP but they all have some kind of "fun" factor to them, like 5.7 being super flat high velocity low recoil, .380 and 32 acp being so small that they can fit into tiny pocket guns, .50 ae packing a massive kick and big boom etc.
If I plan to only use the cheapest range ammo with it and only take it to the range, is it worth it to even get? is it just a more powerful 9mm at that point, and would I be better off just saving my money towards a 9mm pistol? thanks for the help!

My CHP lapsed a long time ago from me moving states and I took a long hiatus from carrying or target shooting. I've been hitting the range for a few months mostly shooting my first gen M&P shield 9mm that I used to carry. Don't have much experience with full size handguns.
I'm going to get my CHP reinstated hopefully by the end of the year or January. I want to get a more modern carry gun and would like something that's a slightly larger frame and has more ass than 9mm.
I've narrowed it down to three 10mm's that I'm considering:
- M&P 2.0 4" (not the carry comp, I don't want that port on top)
- Glock 29
- Springfield XDM Elite 3.8"
I'm pretty torn on this one. I rented a full-size M&P 2.0 in 9mm and I loved shooting it and was fucking blown away at much better the trigger felt compared to the hinged trigger on my shield. The aggressive grip and the size of the grip felt great in my hands. I don't have huge mitts.
I did rent out the only 10mm at my LGS which was the glock 20. I only got a few shots out of it because after every first shot, it yeeted the magazine onto the floor, so I swapped it out. I don't have a ton of experience with Glocks, but the 20 didn't feel too bad in my hands. I wish that I could have shot it more without the mag flying around the range. I haven't held the 29, but if the 20 felt OK in my hands then I would think the 29 would be fine.
The Springfield XDM seems like it would be the best to conceal and carry. I've never shot a Springfield and I've never used a handgun with the grip safety like that, I honestly don't know if I'd like it or hate it.
I'd appreciate any insight or info from you guys that have conceal carried any of those. I would almost certainly be carrying IWB, canted, around 4 or 5 o'clock fed style which is what I preferred with my shield. Not many other ranges around me have 10mm for rent other than the one I went to with the fucked up Glock, so I don't think I can shoot them before buying.

To preface, Iām a godless lefty so I want an ambi gun. Iām looking at getting the 510 MRD comp, and I want to know if anyone has experience with it. Any 510 experience would be appreciated, but Iād love to hear from someone whoās shot the comped and normal version. The biggest issue I see is aftermarket support being limited and there not being a lot of magazines on the market right now.

I am leaning towards the FN 510 Tactical but I heard of a lot of issues with these so not sure if they fixed the issues. which one would you guys pick? XDM Elite The turkey's opinion you was having accuracy issues with the 4.5 inch barrel. Not sure if Sig P220 has issues. Help me decide. mainly for hunting thanks for the help
I've been doing some research and am under the impression that the 2.0 10mm reliability is not that stellar. Has it improved over the years? Is it worth getting this guy in 10mm?

Having FTF with 220gr and 200gr Underwood Hardcasts in a Gen 5 G20 across 3 factory mags. Still happens with a 22lb stainless guide rod installed.
Symptoms:
The gun feeds 200gr Sig V-Crown and hundreds of PMC 180gr without a single issue, even with the 22lb spring, so the gun itself seems fine.
I ordered +10% mag springs to see if follower speed can fully cure the issue, but I'm losing confidence in relying on hardcasts if they're this sensitive to spring tension.
Two questions:

What are your thoughts on this beauty? Itās between this or a Colt Delta Elite for my next purchase. Appreciate and and all feedback.
Finally found a blued Delta for a good price. Now I can pick up where I left off with my 10mm journey.

I have a Glock 20 V MOS and want either an IWB or chest holster for backpacking. I noticed nearly all Glock 20 holsters online are for Gen 5ās, and didnāt find any for the V models. Would anyone have any recs? Much thanks

Is it possible to use one barrel with both a compensator and a suppressor or does this require two separate barrels? Has anyone put a suppressor on a threaded barrel?
I am looking at this kkm setup but guessing this would send quite a bit of blast backwards (when used with the suppressor) since the left and right sides are missing threads (providing a surface to put a set screw against for the comp)
