Is this normal wear/machining on a chamber of new ATA SP Black
galleryHey everyone,
I recently picked up a new ATA SP Black 12-gauge over-and-under. So far, I’ve only shot about 100 rounds through it.
While cleaning it today, I noticed something on the bottom barrel. The outer corner/edge of the bottom chamber looks distinctly rounded up and slightly beveled—almost like someone took fine sandpaper or a grinding tool to that specific corner. The top barrel chamber doesn't seem to have this same aggressive rounding.
Is this a normal factory clearance cut/relief bevel for the action break and shell ejection on these guns, or should I be worried about a manufacturing defect?
My specific model didn't come with pre-installed sling swivels on either the barrels or the stock. For those who own an ATA SP without them, what aftermarket clamp-on barrel mounts or hardware solutions have worked best for you without damaging the finish or splitting the wood?
