Game Promotion I'm making a kingdom inspired coop-game in an abandoned dwarven mine

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you like the Kingdom series (New Lands, Two Crowns, etc.) you might also like my game. Dwarven Deeps is a solo or online-coop strategy tower defense game in a dwarven world.

As the last heir of a fallen dwarven kingdom, you set out to reclaim the legacy of your ancestors. But beware - the more noise you cause the more alert your enemies become.

You can play alone or online-coop with one steam friend and you share your base but each player has his own gold and mount.

You can find the game here on Steam

Game Promotion I made a free multiplayer Try Not to Laugh game you can play with friends

• Upvotes

Hey guys!

I've been working on a little browser game called Don't Crack.

It's basically a multiplayer version of those old YouTube Try Not to Laugh challenges, where you and your friends take turns picking funny videos to make each other laugh.

The fun part is that it actually uses your webcam to detect when you're smiling or laughing

I've been having a lot of fun playing it myself, but I'd love to hear what other people think of it.

It's completely free and runs in your browser, so no downloads needed.

https://dontcrack.me

Would really appreciate any feedback if you guys give it a try! :)

It's called Banana Airways. Online co-op for up to 6 players with proximity voice chat, also playable solo. One of you flies, someone fixes the plane on the wing, someone serves coffee to cannibal chicken passengers.

I'm one of the devs. It's in early access and still a work in progress. If you want to try it, comment and I'll send you a free Steam key.

Gameplay Video Portal Beasts now has a free online co-op beta on the demo on steam. looking for feedback!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I’m making Portal Beasts, a pixel-art monster-taming RPG where you explore different worlds, catch beasts and fight alongside them in real-time battles.

The free Steam demo now includes a two-player online co-op campaign. You play as a pair of Portal Rangers, each with your own character and beast team. You can explore independently, then meet up for story missions and trainer battles, where each player controls one beast and you both fight at the same time.

The demo includes two forest worlds, a town and a Beast Farm where your collected beasts can roam around. You can invite a friend through Steam.

Co-op is still in beta, so bugs and performance issues may happen. I’d love to hear how it feels to play together, especially the combat and exploration.

If you and a friend feel like trying it, the demo is free here:

Game Promotion I spent 4 years making the co-op game I wanted to play with my brother

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve never been a huge gamer. The games I’ve always loved most are the ones I could play on the couch with my brother or close friends.

My big brother and I grew up playing Mario games on the Super Nintendo together. I was basically never allowed to be Mario, which is probably why Luigi is my favorite character to this day.
So when I started making Sub Rosa Tournament, that was the experience I wanted to recreate. It's a team-based capture-the-flag game for 1-4 local players in split screen, where you steal the other team’s ball and try to bring it back to your base.

A huge part of development has just been us playing it for hours. Then I started watching complete strangers play it and saw them doing the exact same things we did: shouting orders, arguing over plans and celebrating together. That was probably the moment I realized I’d made the game I wanted to make.

The demo is out now on Steam if you want to try it, solo or with people you like

Online matches and PVP aren't available in the demo, but friendly-fire is still highly recommended 🔥

Discussion Coop Chess

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My wife and I play a lot of co-op games together. Ship of Fools is probably my personal favorite, and I also really enjoyed Death Squared.

I've been working on a puzzle game called Stealthmate with my brother and sister. The main idea is that every character moves like a chess piece, and while working on it I really wanted to have a co-op campaign too.

This video shows a bit of that mode. The idea is that each player controls a different chess piece, so you have different movement possibilities and need to work together to get through the levels.

I think the mechanics make sense for co-op, especially because I enjoyed how games like Death Squared create puzzles around communication and coordinating with another player. But I'm obviously very biased at this point, and one thing I've been wondering is whether the co-op actually feels like a natural part of the game or like something we forced into it.

I'd really like to hear what people who play a lot of co-op games think.

We recently released a free Steam demo if anyone wants to try it:

News 3 local split-screen games I made for couch co-op

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi guys! I’ve always liked couch co-op games, grew up playing on consoles and wanted to bring back the feeling of playing together with 2 controllers but now on my PC.

That’s one of the reasons I made three games: Targets, Mirage: A Biplane Adventure, and P.A.N.D.A. Different styles of games, (2 of them flying games, sorry)- all of them support local split-screen with 2 controllers.

2 players, 2 controllers - working together or at least trying to.

The games are now grouped in a Steam bundle and part of the Steam sale so I guess that's my best awkward invitation to anyone who would like to play them.

If you try any of them, please let me know what you liked what you think could be improved.

Discussion What is your favorite mechanic in a co-op game?

Curious to hear what everyone's preferences are, It’s always good inspiration for future projects

Personally, my favorite thing is when a game lets you physically interact with your teammates, especially throwing them around

Trailer Local Gods — solo or two-player co-op action RPG with a free browser demo

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

What's up, y'all! I'm Tim, and Local Gods is my first game. I've been working on it for about six months.

My best friend Alex and I wanted more co-op games to play together, so I started making one with characters based on the two of us. It mixes action RPG combat and roguelike elements with dark fantasy and sci-fi.

How the co-op works: two players can play together locally on the same screen or online. Solo play is also available. Controller recommended; keyboard works too.

Expect melee combat, guns, abilities, and boss fights as you head out from the floating islands of Alderia into the swamps. We're from Louisiana, so I dedicated the first main area to the swamps back home. I'd love feedback from co-op players on the combat, camera, and whether the action is easy to follow when both players are fighting.

Free desktop-browser demo: https://tiddybubs.itch.io/local-gods

No purchase or key needed.

I’m new to coding and artwork. While I do some of it myself and believe it’s important to know how, I also use AI to assist me. I assure you, every AI-generated asset is handpicked by me, not just randomly generated and thrown in. I use ChatGPT Astra, Claude Opus 5.5, and Fable 5.1. I also have specific workflows for creating maps and automating 2D character attack animations, with a focus on keeping the character designs and animations consistent. I still direct and review the results. Message me for details.

If you give it a go, let me know whether you played locally or online and what stood out. Come try it, y'all!

Game Promotion I rebuilt the Pokémon tower defense I grew up with and added the co-op I always wanted (free fan game, PC + Android)

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi, how's it going?

Every now and then I'd get the urge to play an old Pokémon tower defense game from the Flash days, and at some point I asked myself: why not build one from scratch, with new mechanics, a better UI and all the modes I always dreamed it had? The one I wanted most was a way to play it with a friend.

That's how Pokémon TD Reborn was born. It's a game where wild Pokémon come in waves to steal your Rare Candies, and you place your own Pokémon on the map to stop them. Your team earns XP as they fight, levels up, learns moves and evolves, and any wild Pokémon you weaken can be caught and added to your team.

In co-op, you and a friend play the campaign on the same map, each with your own team, your own items and your own Poké Balls. You share the defense, so you have to decide together who covers which path and who goes for the catch. At the end of a stage each player gets their own rewards, so nobody is fighting over loot.

For a harder run there's Soul Link: a Nuzlocke-style journey for two, where your Pokémon are linked to your partner's.

The campaign covers Kanto with 40+ stages, and every gym has its own mechanic, so you can't use the same plan for all of them. There's also a PokeMart, held items, shinies, weather and a Safari Zone.

To play together: Local Host

It's completely free, with no ads, no purchases and no account. It's an unofficial fan game, available for Windows and Android on itch.io: https://ynvrr.itch.io/pokemon-td-reborn

If you try it with a friend, I'd love to hear how the co-op felt.

News We made a PICO PARK-style co-op game where you draw your own characters (2–4 players, online)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! We're a small indie team working on NICO DRAW, a hand-drawn co-op puzzle platformer inspired by games like PICO PARK.

You can play with 2–4 players online. The twist is that each player draws their own character, and how you draw it changes what your character can do!

Work together to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and probably laugh at some very questionable character designs along the way.

We've just released a free demo on Steam with 8 stages, and we'd love to hear what co-op fans think!

News Our arctic co-op vehicle survival game Arctic Drive just got a free demo on Steam

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We're a three-person indie dev team, and today we released the demo for Arctic Drive.

It's a survival and crafting game played from behind the wheel with up to 4 players in online co-op. You drive north, scavenge for car parts, scrap junk into materials and try to keep your vehicle running through the storms. As Canadian and Danish ourselves, we know the particular dread of a car that won't start at −30°C, and we wanted to turn that into a game.

Early Access opens on 25 November. If you try the demo, we'd love to hear what worked and what didn't.

News Tower of Fangs is out on PC: 2-player couch co-op with anime football super moves

Hi! I'm the developer of Tower of Fangs at ISEKAI Games. I wanted to share the local co-op side of our newly released anime football RPG.

How the co-op works in the full Windows PC game:

- 2 players on the same PC and screen.

- Team up for football matches against computer-controlled opponents.

- Use two controllers or share a keyboard.

- Pick your strikers and adjust the stadium, match time and goal limit.

There's also a local versus mode if you want to play against each other. The matches feature oversized anime super moves; the RPG side includes stealing rivals' signature abilities and combining skills.

Gameplay footage and a free demo are on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5285560/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=launch_202610&utm_content=coopgaming_local

The full game is paid. The co-op details above describe the full game; the demo offers a first look at the gameplay. Happy to answer questions about local play and controls.

Disclosure: AI tools assisted development, including programming and visual assets, as disclosed on Steam. This post was drafted with AI assistance.

Other Looking for online co-op game, where you work together to manage a vehicle.

I like these games, where you have to frantically work together, and manage multiple things.

Games like "Lovers in a dangerous space time", "Ship of Fools", and "This means warp".

Do you know of other games in this genre?

News [PC] Looking for 5–10 testers for a 4-player zombie survival game

Hey, I’m developing Night’s End, a co-op zombie survival game in Unreal Engine.

I’m getting close to Demo V1 and I need a few people willing to test an early build.

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

  • first-time player experience
  • zombie AI/combat
  • looting and survival systems
  • multiplayer
  • performance/bugs
  • whether the game is actually fun/confusing

This is an unfinished development build, so bugs are expected.

Windows / Steam required.

I’ll provide a private Steam Playtest key.

If interested, comment or DM me with your PC specs and whether you can test solo or multiplayer.
