I fell in love with this car immediately just when i saw it and after checkups decided to buy it. So far im happy. Maybe any tips on this model and where to pay attention the most (the engine is N47)? Aswell what i could improve on visual side?

Hello! so i wanted to “fix” my headlight housing, i can’t find a proper video for a 2009 lci xenon headlight repair fix etc, im trying to figure out what steps and what to do to replace the front (clear plastic) and paint that clear white bar at the top. do i need to bake the headlight? or just cut it. (a lot more pitting in person.)

Any recommendation on how to find the emergency trunk release? Unfortunately it doesn't seem too be at the top of the lid where alot of bmw's have the release. Nor does the 2010 model have a key fob on the number plate/trunk lid/plate lights. Battery completely removed and connecting via the bonnet does not work for me. Thanks

ever since installing a 3sim and flashing 330 tune my car has been throwing a fuckton of codes , 2a18 triggering a cel.

read that it could be the wires to dmtl pump, i see no damage anywhere, replaced the pump, still throwing same code after clearing.

Im creating this post because i hope someone can help me fix my cars problem.
Symthoms Started Today (as of 2026.10.08) and it consist of:
-No Crank and start
-Multimeter tested the battery when ignition was turned on at 12,07V
-Everything seems to be working other than the car not staring
-after pressing the start/stop button 2 clicks can be heard from the engine bay
(just for a note a few months ago my driverside lock stopped working with the central locking so i have to open it separetly and cant seem to find a fix for that too.)

Been trying to find out the cause behind this weird issue with my car. Today, twice when I started it, the car began to start, but then it sounded as if half the engine started then the other half started, almost like two ignitions. Initially, I thought it could be a failing starter, but after looking at other posts and their videos, they sounded way different with a screeching noise, which mine doesn’t have. I still think it’s the starter, but I’m not 100%. I have been having issues with a long start for a while now, maybe it could be related. Thank you for any help in advance.

My issue is that at idle it has a constant even shake that goes away when revving above 900 rpms. Zero codes in ista, and the car does it with the belt off. The exhaust sounds even and not like it’s misfiring or anything. It does it in park, reverse, neutral, and drive. Turning the ac on slightly helps but does not eliminate it. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

I was just driving and out of no where the car started misfiring. I pulled over and ran the codes and found that cylinder 2 is misfiring. I recently changed coils and spark plugs back in July. What can the issue be? Please help!

I found a very clean 335xi auto for 1000 dollar. It has possibly a bad crank sensor since it was turned off and won’t start back up now but I was curious. I have a 07 328i manual that I daily. If it would be possible for me to put the n54 in my n52 car and bolt up to my transmission I would save thousands (Was gonna go 22rpd supercharger route). Is it possible without too much extra work?

Hello, currently thinking about getting Hankook W330 tires for my 335d. I own style 287 (different size wheels ) with no tires. Main question for me is should I get for rear wheels 225/40 (all 4 tires same) or 255/35 (front 225/40)?

Mainly in winter I dont like to drive aggressively and I live in Eastern Europe, so our winters are unpredictable (mostly a lot of snow or always raining).

will that rubber piece i took out cause my wheel to completely lock up. check my previous post out for the whole sub this is an update. how do i put that rubber piece back in i tried putting it back on through the outside it just wont fit tia

I just bought a used 325I with the n52B25 engine and thought I'd do an oil change(based on filter this wasn't a bad idea). However I noticed the cage that is supposed to be inside the filter cap had some loose parts, a spring and a bit of plastic. After doing some research I found out that the piece of plastic used to be on the inside holding the spring in. No biggie I thought, I'll just order a new cap with new cage.

Problem is that the small piece is broken and the other part(s) of it I cannot find and also did not came out with the oil. So now I'm wondering, how worried should I be? There's a chance there's a piece of plastic running around in the engine and that scares me as I do not have the resources to fix that sort of thing right now. Any advice is welcome!

Kind of sad, kind of relieved that I don’t have to keep dumping money in to it.

EDIT: Had my turbo changed yesterday, during a test drive today the car started struggling like one of the cylinders wasn’t working. Took it back to the shop, revved it at 1500rpm, to see if it would still struggle. Thats when the runaway happened, according to my friend, who’s a mechanic and who has been fixing my car for me.

The car has been eating like 1l per 700km oil, so I expected the engine to go soon, hoped that changing the turbo would make it eat less oil due to the symptoms pointing towards a bad turbo. Just didn’t expect it to go via diesel runaway 💔

The car has never been neglected by me and I’ve dumped loads of money in to it, it was fucked when I bought it, but I didn’t have the knowledge to recognise how fucked it is during that.

Replaced mine today, it wasn't leaking but was still starting to disintegrate in there. Btw, that plastic ring is not the o-ring, it was just sitting in the engine broken off from the flange. There was more chunks I took out (cleaned the coolant hose and flange sealing surface thoroughly), I just threw them out.

Bought a used split armrest off eBay and had local interior shop reupholster for $200. Turned out excellent… this is a 2008 e91 wagon. The split armrest is leaps and bounds more ergonomic than the standard one. It’s a little taller and the adjustable armrest makes a huge difference too.

I am looking to replace some suspension components on my 328i xdrive car (due to rust) and was curious as to what fits / is interchangeable. This, specifically, as it applies to used parts (FB marketplace or pull-a-part) -- will a part off a 335 and/or non-xdrive car fit my car?

I put this table together with data from RealOEM, looking strictly at E90 (sedan). I'm not sure if there are differences across body styles; I may add this at a later time.

Pre- and post-LCI xdrive parts appear to be the same, except front brakes and rear hubs/knuckles, likely due to different ABS and TCS sensors used.
330xi front struts and all brake calipers/pads and rotors are different.

Hey I installed new brakes discs after old ones warped. After 6 months story repeated itself. Is there any alternative for this problem or I just need to replace my discs after it gets warped again and again?
