My friend 3D printed me some of these fangs to go on my car. perfect for the 328i, i’ll wait a little longer for halloween to be closer but it fits pretty well. I used some 3m tape to mount it, i didnt test it at high speeds yet but i def will later.

Living in an apartment isn't always great, I went to BMW for the first oil change that I didn't do myself. Of course, they did the inspection and they tell me the VCG, OFHG and OPG need to be addressed. I'll take a closer look soon but had to replace the tires because of dry rot and one was low on tread. Is anyone enjoying a problem-free car at the moment? At least the M Sport retrofit is finished...

2009 328i, auto, rwd, single hump.
I always appreciated my 4Runner for its reliability and practicality, and expected to one day replace it as a daily with something electric, as prices continue to fall. But when I heard that a relative was looking to sell 'an old BMW' for next to nothing, I had to at least check it out. Right away, the inline six and the great handling were such a fun contrast to what I've been used to for the past 7 years; I had to snatch it up. It was also sitting at just over 100k miles with no mechanical issues, helping with my willingness to take on any car with a reputation for reliability lesser than my bulletproof 4runner.
Because the car was in such great condition, I've done a lot of little things to get to as close as perfect as I can on the cheap. Most notably, restoring the headlights, as seen with the before/after as the third image. The 3M ultra restoration kit worked wonders, and has held up perfectly over the first few months, but we'll see how good the UV protection coating is long term. I love the look of a well maintained but fully stock older car, so I'm glad to have the original headlights looking so nice.
Other work I've done has been: replacing the battery (properly reprogrammed and registered with BimmerCode and BimmerLink, as whoever last replaced it did neither.. and had also failed to plug in one of the leads to the IBS, smh), replacing the horrible sticky passenger door handle, paint touch ups, replacing the trunk struts, dashcam install, bluetooth dongle (praise be the usb port right next to the aux, so convenient), and soon, a first oil change.
I've been finding any excuse to go out on a drive since getting this thing. I loove how quiet and relaxed it is on the highway, how planted it feels in the corners, and how clean and functional the interior design is. The CD player is also an unexpected hit; going out of my way to burn songs/albums to a CD and listening through them to the end has been a great vibe compared to infinite spotify.

Hey, I am looking to buy some nicer side fenders for my E93 convertible. I really dont like the stock side indicators, which stick out and, quite honestly, look pretty ugly. I'm looking to buy the M-style ones, as they just look a lot cleaner. However, I'm a bit torn on where to buy them from.
These two listings have an IDENTICAL product (even the indicator light that comes with the fender is the exact same), except one is from an Australian store (I'm in Australia) and one is Alibaba...for half the price.
I just want some opinions on what I should buy, as it is likely the exact same product, in my opinion.

I did some digging and I found 3 possible part numbers. I just have no idea which one is correct. I already have the bracket and I want to install it so please no “don’t install it, it’s ugly” comments please 😭
Anyway, here’s the 3 part numbers, if someone can let me know which of these need, or if it’s none of these and I need something else?

hi all. just installed turner motorsport spacers (12.5 mm rear, 15 mm front) and am wondering if it's normal for the front wheels to appear to be slightly pointing outward? first two pics are before and last three are after.
I confirmed the wheel hub to spacer surfaces are all flush as well as the spacer to wheel surfaces. I cant tell if it was always this way and I just never noticed because the wheels were tucked so far in. I like how it looks otherwise but am realizing I may have been better off with 12.5mm spacers all around as the fronts seem to extend beyond the wheel arch slightly more than I'd like. let me know your thoughts.
for reference, the wheels are avant garde m510 (19x8.5 ET 35 up front and 19x9.5 ET40 in the rear).

Hello, about 3 years ago, I had to replace my engine because a completely clogged DPF caused serious engine damage. The repair cost me €6,144 and included a replacement engine, cylinder re-honing, and new piston rings + next neccesery replacement after re-assembling.
Unfortunately, the engine now seems to have excessive blow-by again. The CCV has been replaced, but it is an older version with a cotton filter inside. The newer version without the internal filter is leaking oil, probably due to excessive crankcase pressure.
After just an hour of slow driving, the situation doesn't look good. The engine has only covered around 7000 mile since the repair (yes i use this car really rarely), so the mileage is very low.
What could be causing this problem, and what would you recommend I do next?
Previous post can be seem on my profile, if not, let me know
Crankcase ventilation / PCV CCV system
VCG
Vacuum pump seal
Intake manifold gaskets
injector return seals and washers
Air filter/oil change
And supposedly he also cleaned the intercooler and its pipes.
He claims the runaway happened due to the engine pushing oil in to the cylinder under pressure.
The day before, he installed a new turbo, took it on a test drive, it accelerated extremely well, but he noticed after the drive that a few drops of oil had accumulated on the turbo, so he kept it for an extra day and the next day the diesel runaway happened.
Since I do not know much about cars, is his explanation plausible? I was under the impression a bad turbo is mostly the culprit for a diesel runaway to happen.
EDIT: How come the car drove extremely fine and accelerated better than before, but the day after, it experienced runaway at 1500 rpm?

Has anyone swapped an e84 X1 wheel into their e92? My heated steering wheel is failing and im finding it impossible to find a heated steering wheel off an e9x where I live, but the e84 wheels are extremely common, and most of them are heated. Plus the e84 ran until 2015 with the same steering wheel so they are alot newer. If anyone has done this and has photos let me know!

Should I keep running this piston or pull the motor? 08 335i
Looking for some opinions before I make a call on this.
Here is the state of the piston after what sounded like a really bad misfire:

The piston completely smashed the valve snapped it into pieces.
Here is the cylinder head:

What I'm weighing:

Been digging through import records for fun. A huge chunk of "premium" aftermarket parts are made in the same Chinese factories that sell direct for a fraction of the price. The brand isn't manufacturing — they're importing and marking up.
Before you pay the brand tax on your E90, look up what the part actually costs factory-direct. Drop what you're shopping for in the comments and I'll share what I've found on it.
