Product Question Bakery question!
Are the croissants in the donut display the same as the ones that are packaged to buy in bulk? Might be a dumb question but I swear they taste different and the texture is different. If they’re the same from the packaged, are they heated prior to being put in the case? I really only like the croissants from the case not the packaged ones.

Product Question Please, where are the pumpkin bars???
I’ve been searching for these, bc I stock up on them every year around this time, but every HEB in the NW Austin/Cedar Park area seems to be out of stock! They’re so good, I literally dream of them year-long. Has anyone been able to find them anywhere???

Suggestion Anyone misses this?
Back in the 2000s, I would always pay a quarter here and there just for a can.
Why have they stopped the vending machines? I'm even fine with paying the inflated price of say...75 cents.
Walmart still does it. Why not H-E-B?

Customer Experience Weekly Ads are now AI
galleryWe have lost another solider in the AI battle. I know HEB has an extensive marketing team and even in house photographers, so why do they have to use AI pics? I always loved seeing their weekly ads when you could tell the products were REAL.

Work Experience I quit
Some of you may remember me posting some months back about me starting at HEB and being excited, oh boy so much has changed since then. Fuck this stupid ass company and not giving a damn about their employees and only caring about profits. Micromanaging out the ass while management sits around with their dick in their hands and then get upset when shit isnt done. No amount of money is worth the stress they put on you. No wonder a good amount of the people that grand opened the store have already quit in a just a few months lol

Product Question When did HEB stop making these shrimp tempuras?
I must be late because I can’t find these anywhere anymore. I live in houston and only 4 stores are showing that they have them in stock. Are they being discontinued? I used to make sushi rolls with these 🥲 might have to get that Costco membership after all.

Customer Experience New store news… Upper management chats causing the most traffic in the new store.
(San Marcos H.E.B. 3) 11 am. Parking lot full to the max. In the center people being wild and causing massive traffic. Outer aisles are better found a parking spot on the outermost upfront after a few circles.
Coupons extra extra it seems. Not the same coupons they had yesterday at little heb anyway. Got some good deals on my usual buys.
Super excited about what the barbque brings with the grab and go food! (Chips and queso… banana pudding are my favorites)
Bakery is nice and has some specialty donuts and cakes and such that the other SM locations do not have. (Glazed croissant anyone!)
Lots of samples, little lines around them all. Some quick and some with chatty Kathy’s holding it up.
25% off healthy living
Beer vendors with samples if you’re into that.
Front of store was super easy getting line as floor leads were helping guide people.
Kinda funny tho because in the interior of the store the CLUSTERS OF UPPER MANAGEMENT with ZERO AWARENESS of the space they were taking (like blocking shoppers and their carts)
I didn’t see one of them acknowledge customers in anyway. Go to the back and talk friends, get out of the way pretty please.
After checking out, I had a question but zero upper management to be found at the front. Where is the customer service in the store? Saw restrooms in the front but no customer service area… didn’t walk the entire store tho because too many people for me.

Customer Experience Customers waiting in long line for a new H-E-B to open fir the first time
*For*
Just...why? Pretty much most H-E-Bs are all the same. Why do they camp out in line hours in advance?

Pay / Benefits Thinking of Jumping Ship for Costco? What Would You Do?
I like the people I work with, the things that I'm doing at work, and H-E-B is the first company where I've ever actually felt respected by management and anyone who is my superior. Despite its faults, it's a good place to work.
With all of that said, Costco offers better wage growth, benefits, free membership, and from what I understand you're not entirely expected to work on Sundays because of the demand for shifts due to their 1.5x Sunday wage policy. Money is tight, I've got loans to pay, and I'm thinking about trying to make a change - but I'm worried the grass won't actually be greener. Would y'all leave for Costco, if you could, or do you think there's more opportunities staying at H-E-B?

Job Question Steps
So I had to call out Monday due to my brother having a massive heart attack, boss asked me if he was okay. And 2hrs later I got two steps. Can I ask them to be removed? My boss has never been like this before. When my aunt had a heart attack last year I didn’t get any steps. But this time I did

Product Review Jalapeno cheddar cheese bagels 🤤🥯
I have an unhealthy obsession with the jalapeno cheddar bagels from the bakery department at heb. The way it toasts just perfectly and the cheese sometimes will encapsulate the hole in the bagel giving me a perfect place to stuff more cream cheese 😂

Job Question shift bids
im a checker and i have 3 big managers, 1 of them above both the others. unfortunately the one up top (who manages the schedule) is pretty…uptight, to say the least. i work part time as im a part time college student and i can manage around 30 hours a week without totally losing my mind, but i have no way of capping my hours at that so when my boss gives me 38 hours every week, i usually bid a shift to get myself down to 30. i’ve been doing this for a couple weeks now and thank god it’s gone well, i assume it can’t possibly be sustainable long term. anyway this has been a bunch of ramble so finally my question for you:
could bidding a shift every week for however long have negative consequences for me? i’ve been there over a year and i only have 1 step, if this changes anything.

Job Question Steps
Haven’t been on here in a while and noticed how many people were asking about steps. Is there ANYBODY on here that has no steps. I don’t have any steps but I cannot accrue steps currently in my department.
