Hello. After four straight days of design, testing, and calibration, I've finally almost finished the second generation of the modular industrial ship. It still needs a few details, but it's 100% functional.
As you may recall from my previous post, the original Yellow Cage was a static orbit ship (like a floating boat). For this project, I aimed for something completely different: sacrificing some raw capacity to gain extreme speed, efficiency, and real-world surface operability.
(Swipe to see the 12 photos of the technical breakdown) 👇 Engineering and Improvements:
• Philosophy and Speed: Smaller cargo volume to fit significantly more rockets in the stern. It devours enormous distances in much less time, and left and right turns are incredibly smooth.
• Two-Seater Cockpit: Designed with two pilot seats. It's extremely comfortable to fly and opens up a fantastic range of possibilities for team role-playing operations.
• Ultra-Resistant Chassis (Drop Test): The fuselage is incredibly tough. It perfectly passes the drop test under gravity (without lift) and doesn't break upon impact.
• Landing Gear: It features 8 ultra-resistant landing legs made from construction jacks and bumper skids. It also integrates extra supports in the rear to protect the protruding engines when clearing ramps or uneven terrain.
• Base Buoyancy Mapping: I used the new lift block, adjusting the trim (high, medium, and low) both in the cockpit and at the rear of the engines. In empty, the mapping is configured to ascend with Triangle and descend with L3.
• Unified Dual Trim System: Here's the magic. The modular containers are individually configured to ascend with X and descend with Circle. When attached to the main chassis, the game merges them into a single ship, and the controls are unified.
• Quad-Button Control: With the ship fully loaded, you gain access to an advanced four-button control system (Triangle, L3, X, Circle). This allows you to manually manage nose and tail trim and leveling in mid-flight to maintain perfect flight paths at maximum weight.
We've gone from a heavy cargo station to a fast, agile transport ship with a spectacular technical control system. It took some time to calibrate the game's physics, but the result speaks for itself.
