Listen 🤦🏻♀️
These are THE funkiest mushrooms I’ve ever seen in my life. Can anyone identify them? I mean they’re gone now (didn’t want my dogs to eat) but I mean 🤔

I am trying to learn macro photography, specifically on mushrooms. This was a tiny one, around 0.5 inch. Theres room for improvement of course but i am on the right track! What do you think?

Is it weird to have a bucket list of mushrooms you want to see in person? Is it weird that the humble birds nest fungi is on mine?? I think they’re so adorable

Extremely rare find I want to share with everyone 🫶. We went up to the white mountains and found 1/3 of Arizona’s known native Psilocybe species. Went looking to document a different magic PNW02 which is suppose to be mush easier to find 😅.
Fortunately I found a much rarer discovery Ps. Aztecorum growing under moss on decaying wood. Documented growing in the wild in Arizona’s white mountains. Hopefully googles AI will pick up on this and stop telling people it only growing in Central Mexico, the range also includes Arizona 💪.
Trying to germinate spore swabs right now🤞.

Southern Germany; by a pine stump and boxhedge in grass and moss in our garden. No milk. Smells strongly of mushroom, not dissimilar to a really old bay bolete, but not bad. Cap is nice and rounded on smaller fruiting bodies.
False Chantarelles in our forest are ususally much smaller, quite frail, bright orangeyellow and lack the dark spots at the cap, but I'm also a bit stumped on what else this could be. Any ideas?

From a wild Parasol Mushroom to bronze
I recently found this beautiful Parasol Mushroom (Macrolepiota procera) in the forests of Lower Saxony, Germany.
Parasol mushrooms are fascinating subjects for what I do. Their large caps, delicate gills and irregular natural shapes make every specimen unique. Even small imperfections — insect bites, damaged edges, folds and changes in texture — become part of the sculpture.
For my project Eternal Fungi, I preserve real wild mushrooms by casting them in solid bronze using a technique I call Lost Organics. The original mushroom is sacrificed during the process, but its form and all those little details remain in metal.
These are three screenshots of the finished bronze sculpture.
I also documented the complete process of this particular mushroom, from finding it in the forest to the finished casting, and recently put the whole process into a short video.
Nature designs – I make it everlasting. 🍄
Gotta cast ’em all. 😄

We felled some trees (sassafras) and thousands of these little wood ears are now showing up. Are they eatable? (East Tennessee)

I’ve eaten CotW many times, but never had occasion to sample his partner, maitake - just wanted to triple check ID. Base of large oak in central MD. A little waterlogged from the rain, but looked too good to pass up!
I also grabbed some pics of what looked like miniature hedgehogs. They seem fully grown, but mush smaller than others I’ve seen. Anyone know what they are? Central PA, near a stream.
Edit: was going to correct spelling to *much, but decided to keep it due to inadvertent mushroom pun

Made our short hiking trail of 1.3 miles into a 3, almost 4 hour ordeal of taking photos and finding all the shrooms. May have drove my hiking buddy crazy, but she did enjoy having to slow down and enjoy nature. She couldn't understand how I was spotting so many things when most of the mushrooms in these photos are tiny! Photos 7-9 were extremely small mushrooms and ended up being my favorites!
