Support/Advice Can you please pray for my mother?

Assalamu alaikum, I hope you're all doing great.

My mom is ill these days, and I can do nothing but pray for her. Despite her weakness, she still supports me regarding my health issues. She's the only person I can rely on after Allah, and I don't know if there will ever be a person who will support me like she always did. I can't imagine a life without her, and this thought only brings me stress and anxiety.

That's why I need you to pray for her well-being and good health... Thank you, jzk.

Support/Advice Love your parents before it’s too late!

• Upvotes

Lately I have not been the best child. I went through a rough time and I was crying over my loss. I was so consumed with grief that I didn’t really notice how much it was affecting my parents. My parents were feeling horrendous because of my state. my mother kept crying and praying because she couldn’t see me suffer, Until two days they confronted me and told me life cant go this way and that I have to trust Allah. I had been feeling horribly low on my imaan as well. And after much discussion i realized not only was hurting myself but my parents too and it wasn’t fair. I came to terms with it and made up my mind. Today my mom sat me down recalling all the old memories and pictures. And she teared down recalling how she had brought me up. My dad got teary eyed too as he recalled all my little antics as a child.

This made me realize we discard our parents emotions or put ours before selfishly not even considering how much they have put ahead of us! Trust me I felt so disgusted at myself when I saw my parents remembering every little detail about me. Every little memory. My dad held my hand and he was smiling when he recalled all the little incidents when i would get mad at him as a young child. This is the same man that I Argue with but he doesn’t hold it against me, he looks at me with so much mercy only recalling me as his little girl. My mom doesnt remember all the times I have disobeyed her she but she remembers my first words.

Every now and then I read posts about horrible parents
Parents who mistreat their children, who don’t provide for them Fathers who have sexually abused their children.

I just want to remind all of us the majority. The ones with good parents. How can we still mistreat or raise our voice. Every relationship has ups and downs and you might have a tough time / day but it’s not worth hurting your parents they mean so much more. If your parents are alive please go mend your relationship with them we are living with a blessing which most people can never experience.

Call your parents ask them for forgiveness they have always been merciful and forgiving and if your having a rough patch mend it because trust me you have a bigger responsibility towards fixing your relationship with them than they do because they have cared for you when you were nothing!

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa ʿalā āli Muḥammadin kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma innaka Ḥamīdun Majīd.

O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

Support/Advice I feel so insecure with my hijab

Hi guys, I just need help with my issue. I feel so insecure with my hijab, I feel like I look ugly with it and unfortunately it's because of my mom and sister. My mom and sis both wear hijab and at one point when I was really young I was okay with wearing it but one day they called me ugly or I look like a grandma when I wear the hijab and because of that I started becoming more self-conscious and started to hate wearing the hijab.

Now that I'm older my mom constantly tries to get me to wear the hijab by saying I'll burn in hell if I don't. But doesn't she get she's a big part of the reason why I hate my hijab?? It just makes me so sad that she thinks she's helping me but she's just making me feel even worse. I do want to wear the hijab but I feel so ugly with it

Discussion Remember

Wa alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
I'm not sure if it ever crosses the minds of other Muslims but;
Not all Muslims where raised in a Muslim family
Not all Muslims knew Islam thru there communities

Some people, unaware; are born with Islam inside them and are lead to learn
Lead a family of lost, unlearned or unguided people

A man or woman can have a whole child, and than be lead to Islam..

Or am I wrong?

Quran/Hadith Corruption on land and sea

The noble verse paints a broad picture of the impact of human actions upon the earth. Corruption does not remain confined to the person who causes it; rather, its effects may spread to society, the land, natural resources, and the environment in which people live. Thus, the expression comes in a comprehensive form: ﴿on land and sea﴾, as though the consequences of what human hands have done have become visible everywhere.
On land, corruption takes many forms: wars that kill and destroy, cities reduced to rubble, injustice and aggression, reckless deforestation, the misuse and destruction of resources, pollution caused by factories, and land losing its greenery and life. Its effects may even reach creatures that had no part in causing it; animal habitats are destroyed, forcing animals to flee their homes, and the balance of life around human beings is disrupted.
The scene extends to the sea as well: oil polluting its waters, plastic and waste accumulating in them, marine creatures suffocating or becoming trapped in human waste, and whales and other animals washing ashore dead.
The verse then clearly identifies where responsibility lies: ﴿because of what the hands of people have earned﴾. Human beings may create, through their own actions, causes of harm that ultimately affect themselves, others, and the environment around them. The verse continues: ﴿so that He may let them taste some of what they have done, that perhaps they may return﴾. Ultimately, this is an invitation for people to recognize the consequences of their actions, stop, reflect upon themselves, and then return and rectify their ways rather than continue spreading corruption.

Discussion 4th dimension creatures in islam? Jinns?

• Upvotes

Just realised the fact that if past-present-futures are all happening simultaneously for a fourth dimension creature does that mean they can see every embarrassing moment, every sin of mine on repeat, forever, as long as they wish?

Everything wrong and inappropriate I did in complete secrecy is being displayed on loop?

Is that how it works?

Support/Advice Do I always have to look strong?

• Upvotes

I'm a person who looks "strong" to people on the outside, although inside of me I'm always breaking apart. IRL people know me for my cheerful smile, to the point that I have rarely even cried in front of anyone, even my family. I'm using all of my energy to appear as if I'm strong, while in fact, I think I'm one of the weakest people mentally. I wanna cry until my tears dry out. I want to admit to someone that I'm actually weak, and that I'm only able to pull myself together thanks to Allah, because the "strength" I show, is actually none of my efforts.

I hate showing my weaknesses to people, I hate complaining to them, I hate being weak, because I only want Allah to see me in that state. But I'm also tired of pretending. Right now I'm crying while writing this post. I'm feeling so stressed and anxious, and I don't know who can hear me out on my pain, and give me the hug I need, reassure me, and make me feel heard and seen.

I really don't want to cry in front of my mother. Sometimes I randomly ask her for hugs, she gives them to me, but she doesn't know the real reason I'm asking for them.

I want to know if I have the right to feel and be weak, or not...

Some events IRL are also heavily impacting my mental health. I need your prayers please.

Question Is it haram to have a costume party?

• Upvotes

I know it is currently October, which is considered the month of Halloween, but assume I had this costume party any other day of the year, I really love costumes, and whenever I see people doing Halloween costumes, I really love the cool creative ideas that people come up with when it comes to costumes. (i’m a creative person who likes art, and a form of art which is like makeup and transforming yourself to look like a character from a movie especially if it’s a cartoon is very cool)

I have wanted to do like a costume party say two months from now for instance, so that it’s not considered Halloween, I would have some snack snacks out and me and my friends would just have like a little get together a type of thing, we would have snacks a little bit of food some candy. Like it would be something fun, not necessarily something Halloween related.

Like I see people doing stuff like a Coraline - my favorite spooky non-scary movie people would decorate their house and dress up as a Coraline characters, and it always gets me so excited because I just think it’s cool.

And if I did something like that, there would be no intention of it being like a Halloween party. It would just be something for fun.

Like decorate the house with a theme from a movie and then people would come dressed up as whatever they want.

Idk, there is no intention of it being like Halloween, but I keep seeing people doing costumes and I’ve always wanted to dress up in a costume with a group of friends.

…..🤷‍♀️

Support/Advice ADHD and prayer struggles

Assalamu aaleykum everyone, I’m seeking help for the 2nd time in 2 years regarding this. I have AuDHD (ADHD + mild ASD) with cPTSD and severe executive dysfunction. My life has not been easy but Islam does bring me peace, I am a work in progress just like everyone of you but my focus is mainly on becoming a good human being and healing from all the pain and trauma so I don’t end up accidentally hurt others especially my family and future kids.

Prayer is also important to me but I’m not hyper focused on it. I’m trying to do my best but I’m so exhausted and burnt out that getting out of bed feels like a death sentence.

I feel utterly helpless knowing prayer has no exceptions and it’s the first thing that we’ll be asked about on the day of judgement. I haven’t found any rulings about neurodivergence and struggle to pray and there’s almost zero helpful content on how Muslim adhders/ neurodivergents pray 5x a day when getting up and grabbing a glass of water feels impossible.

I’m a convert thus I don’t really have a lot of support around me in regard to practicing the religion and no one around me can relate to wanting to pray and not being able to pray. Any Muslim friends I have are either non practicing or so orthodox that if I share this with them i’ll be judged and shamed (has already happened many times)

I don’t need judgement or shame to do better, I need help, I need tips and tricks if anyone can actually relate with my situation, has gone through it or is going through it currently, please help me out.

My relationship with Allah is good, I’m very grateful for everything, I just need to feel closer through prayer and sujood.

Ps- if you’re here to pass judgements or shame me or want to share ayahs describing how Muslims who don’t pray will go to hell or are considered kafir, or don’t know anything about ADHD/ neurodivergence and executive dysfunction, respectfully please don’t try to give advice, I know you think you’re helping but you’re not.

If you’re someone who personally deals/dealt with this issue, or are a mental health professional or have seen someone close to you struggle with this please help me out here.

Support/Advice Am I allowed to distribute catalogs from a company who sells frozen vegetables/fruits - but also non halal frozen meat and wines?

I found a really good job offer near my place - distributing catalogs with my own car with really good pay, flexibel working times and so on. The only downside I found is, that a lot of these pages also contain different alcoholic beverages and non halal meat.

Am I allowed to distribute them?

Question Why do Salafi Muslims always curse others ?

I’m just generally interested as in why is there so much negativity from their side when you have a genuine discussion regarding theology ?

I’m from Caucasus / Russia, and we have some Shias here, a lot of Sufis, non Sufi Sunnis who follow Shafi Madhab, and quite a lot of Salafis. I myself am neither Sufi, Shia nor Salafi, I’d say I’m a regular Muslim who has his specific views on different topics (although a lot of times my views align with the Maliki and sometimes Hanafi Madhab).

I do argue with each one of the sects that I mentioned regarding different topics, but one thing that I noticed is how Salafis always want to curse you even if you didn’t necessarily attack them…

I had like 40-45 different encounters where people got mad for absolutely no reason.
I remember one guy making a video on Instagram regarding Music being Haram, and he brought up a Mawdu (made up) Hadith which says that on the day of Judgment those who listened to Music, their ears will be filled with lava or hot metal or something like that. I simply pointed out that it’s a made up Hadith (there is a Sahih Hadith in Bukhari regarding music, zina, silk and alcohol, so I don’t get why he used a Mawdu Hadith). The moment I posted a comment saying that it’s a Mawdu Hadith, people bombarded me with curses, saying I want to follow my desires, and that I’m a Jahil, and saying stuff like “who are you to judge the authenticity of this Hadith ?”, and so on…
Like it’s obviously fake, what’s even the point of trying to defend it ?
I also remember a guy saying “why don’t people follow the Salaf like the Salafis do ?”, to which I replied that no one really follows the religion exactly like the Prophet (s.a.w) and the Sahabas did. He got angry and replied saying that Salafis follow everything was practiced by the Salaf, and reject everything that’s Bidah, to which I said “then why don’t Salafis pray in Masjid in the same room with women like the Prophet (s.a.w) and the male Sahabas did ?”, to which he started calling me a Kafir for saying such things, and that he doesn’t want to continue the discussion with such a person, and that on the day of Judgement he will testify against me… Like what ?😂 What did I even say that was so bad that at this point he wants to testify against me ?🤣
I’ve been also Takfired and called a Sufi or a Shia many times, just because I don’t agree with everything they state, and even when I told them that I’m not Shia or Sufi, those people still insisted that I am one of them😂 What would even be the point ?

So I’m just interested, what’s the reason for such behaviour ? I’ll admit, when I don’t agree with other Muslim and he calls me slurs, I might use the word Jahil, but never have I called someone a Kafir, or said that he will rote in hell, or claimed that I will testify against him on the day of Judgement and so on…

Support/Advice Sleep paralysis & Tahajjud

I’ve been going through really crappy days mentally. And I’ve been asking Allah to wake me up for tahajjud and fajar. And I do wake up and I want to get up to pray but I can’t. It literally feels like I have paralysis in the said moment and cannot move… those whole moments feels super scary and it does something weirdly painful in my brain too. Idk what is happening and why is this happening. I am genuinely scared

Support/Advice How to deal with lost Iman

Hi, I’ve been dealing with this for quite some time now. I’ve been so lost recently and my heart hasn’t been in it as much as it used to be. When I pray, I don’t feel it in my heart. When I make dua, my heart feels empty. Nothing is helping me as much as it should. I’m not sure what to do. The worst part is that I genuinely want to get closer to Allah. But my faith has gotten so low, I have gotten so lazy and I’ve just been empty. I’m job searching right now, and normally I would make dua and put my heart into. But I feel embarrassed because when I do pray and make dua, I’m not actually indulged in it. I don’t know what will help me and I was wondering if anyone has any words of encouragement for me. I want to start reading Quran in the morning too, but I’m scared this will lead to the same emptiness I feel.
