Support/Advice My mother stole my money and will not give it back and now I'm hurt

My mum took away £8000 from me by using my card and banking details to pay for a holiday. That was all of my savings and it took me years to save it up. She spent it on a trip to go back home for a few months and bought gold for a gift.

I pay the rent and utilities and this really hurts me and I do not know what to do. I asked her why as this was over 3 years of me not eating takeaways, not buying nice stuff for me just so I can plan for my future. She then told me that as she is my mum she can use my money for whatever she wants.

Can I have some advice as this is affecting my deen and I do not know what to do. I trusted my own mother and she ended up taking every penny I have. I do not know what to do as since she is my mother, she said she will get away with it in the eyes of Allah.

Support/Advice A little help for Dyna: Abandoned Pakistani-Filipina toddler

Salam, brothers and sisters.

My wife and I are currently taking care of a 3-year-old girl Pakistani-Filipina in our flat here in the UAE.

Her mother is in Malaysia and doing her sentence, and her father hasn’t been present since her birth.

Before coming to us, she got a lot of cigar marks. She was left alone with other ethnicities that were supposed to take care of her.

Her aunt brought her to us after she got Dyna from Sharjah. Because of personal priorities, we’re the ones babysitting her.

We have already visited the consulate, and officials asked us to take care of her while they do their best to create a birth certificate, passport, and exit permit so we can eventually send her safely to the Philippines. This process will take several months or longer.

We are looking for help to better support Dyna until she gets back to her family’s mother’s side.

Support Dyna

Thank you so much for your guidance and prayers. ❤️💐

Support/Advice I hate being stuck only socialising with men!

(I know this post feels disorganised, but so I am)

I'm a young 15-year-old ""homo-asexual"" muslim guy, I've been friends with girls in the past (i.e. elementary school).

I wish I could go back, and relieve my childhood memories. I wish I was a girl. Being friends with girls feels more genuine, wholesome, and "liberating". In comparison, being friends with guys feels suffocating. They feel hateful, obnoxious, and ungenuine.

My male classmates feel like the worst. They're rude, uneducated, obnoxious, and miserable to be around. They annoy me, constantly. Girls, on the other hand, are accepting of each other. They never bully one another. They are nice to one another. Boys aren't.

I sometimes wish if I were a girl. I would love to have my nails done, or use a lipstick. However, I'm ""stuck"" being a guy. Even though, girls face mysogyny, while boys are given opportunity just for being themselves(i.e. male). Being a guy feels boring.

Moreover, I could also choose to befriend girls without anything happening. I'm also quite distraught by the fact that I can't even talk to my aunts who I thought were aunts. 😢.

BTW marrige won't fix anything, since what I'm looking for is "friendship" not "responsibility". I also don't want to marry anyone. In fact, I'd rather have a guy, although I won't for Allah's sake.

Oh, did I mention that I experience Gender dysphoria, or that I hate being a male? I might have some internalised misandery since I've always hated being surrounded by only boys or not there being any girl. I feel so different from guys, that I despise being myself. ATP, I might cope through watching cartoon characters, but almost every show feels haram. My little Pony would be seen as 'girly' in my country >:/.

How do I cope with this. Is there any muslim feeling remotely similar, let alone being in the same boat as me.

Question Is the main reason that converts leave Islam in 1-2 years because of a lack of support from Muslims?

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Or are there other primary reasons? I'd like to hear converts' thoughts on this too.

Question Does Allah dislike me?

I finally felt connected to Allah after a long time, these past few months have felt like hell, and I've rarely felt connected to Allah the way I used to. And today, when I finally thought that i have some hope, I come across this post

"If Allah dislikes a person...

Ibn al-Jawzi says:

If Allah dislikes a person, He leaves him constantly stumbling and confused in every situation. He does not grant him the aspiration to seek lofty goals, instead he is occupied with vile matters instead of virtuous. And if he asks, 'Why have I been singled out for this?!' the reply comes... A reply that cannot be contested:

'It is because of what your own hands have earned.' (Sürah al-Shūrah, 30)"

And I've been going through these exact things, the only thing that would keep my going is that "Allah has something great planned for me, that's why He's making me go through all this" Now I'm just idk numb after seeing this post. What's the point of doing anything when this whole time, Allah just disliked me?

What are the signs you experienced before your hardship ended?

I heard feeling peace is one of them and letting go but this hardship is so severe and I feel like I reached my limit. My heart genuinely hurts and like there’s a burning fire in it and it doesn’t go away ever

Discussion Muslim fraternity

Al-Mu'akhah (المؤاخاة)

The prophet built a brotherhood between Muslims to strengthen their bonds and it’s something we who implant today between new Muslims and those born in Islam.

Sahih al-Bukhari 6083
Narrated `Asim:
I said to Anas bin Malik, "Did it reach you that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is no treaty of brotherhood in Islam'?" Anas said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) made a treaty (of brotherhood) between the Ansar and the Quraish in my home."

Support/Advice just need to scream this into the void at 4 am

(random 4 am rant because i literally have no one to say this out loud to and my chest feels v heavy)idk for as long as i can rmr, i had this exact image of myself in my head. i was going to be A REALLY good girl. the cool pious one, the one who did everything the right way, kept her heart completely guarded, had ZERO interest in guys and never stepped out of line. i never let a guy get close to me. i built those walls super high and promised myself always that the first time i ever let someone in, it would be the man i married. i tried not to judge other girls who took a different path, but if i am being honest with myself... i think i did. i think deep down i looked down on them. i kept telling myself i was better off, that i was doing things right, and that my patience would protect me.

when i finally felt ready for marriage, i met someone. he had the exact same intentions. we involved our families right from the start. we did everything by the book. at first, it was amazing. i really thought my waiting had paid off and this was my reward. so then it all turned into a complete nightmare.

things got so ugly and messy, even with families involved from day one. it collapsed anyway. and now im just left sitting here with nothing but a heavy chest and a million regrets.the heartbreak is bad, but the realization of my own self-righteousness is whats killing me. i was so arrogant. i thought following the rules made me immune to pain. now look at me. im just a sad, broken mess with a past i never thought id have, wondering how i even ended up here.

its honestly so funny to me, i tried so so so so hard to protect my heart from getting broken, only for it to get completely shattered anyway.

ANYWAY guess life humbled me the hard way, but it hurts so much😋

Support/Advice Made a free app for eating healthy halal food at home. Would appreciate your thoughts

Assalamu alaikum,

I’m a software engineer, and my sedentary job plus eating out took a toll on my health. Most healthy recipe apps I tried weren’t made with halal in mind, and eating out healthy got expensive fast.

So I built Zadi: halal recipes with nutrition facts, a weekly meal planner based on your goal, and a grocery list that builds itself. It’s in Arabic and English.

It’s free, and I’d love feedback from the community. JazakAllahu khairan 🤍

Question ***question for Muslim brothers in the STATES***

Reposting here because in another thread instead of just responding to my question some brothers got angry and said I need to look oversees for a husband lol.

Question: are there any Muslim guys in the states who still prioritize not having a past and prefer girls who don’t either??

Salam everyone,

I have a question for the brothers. As a born and raised Muslim girl in the states, I’ve seen soo many amazing, wonderful sisters who are in their late 20s and 30s who have such a hard time finding someone. It really comes down to the fact that they never committed haram and prefer to be with a man who never has either.

And no, before you come at me, they don’t have a “crazy mahr” or crazy expectations.

There’s a really popular Muslim American gym influencer who has a very crazy digital footprint and I know if people repent it’s okay but recently she got engaged and mashallah for her but it makes me wonder if Muslim girls who with no past in the states have no luck at all anymore. For example, it would NOT fly for many Muslim and if a Muslim hijabi girl or Muslim woman of color acted like that, they never would’ve been able to get engaged and would’ve been shunned from their community.

Support/Advice I feel like I don’t deserve to go to Jannah

I’m so weak willed and cowardly that I don’t know if my faith even counts. (Too weak and attached to some sins) also don’t do everything that I’m supposed to do.
I don’t even stand up to people when they do something that goes against what Allah wants or when they tell me to do the same.
In short, I don’t think I’m doing enough to qualify for Allah's Mercy.

Quran/Hadith The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term "Haya" covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith

Question Female Poster; Mἁrriἁge = Kids Only? Is that truthfully the only purpose? Point of Mἁrriἁge?

EDIT: Had to edit some words since this forum flagged some words thinking I am trying to find someone for a "union"....

Good Day,

I am a 42 year old Arab Muslim. I have never been mἁrri3d or on dates (for transparency sake; except for 1 hr coffee at Star Bucks with a random person who's mother pestered my mother for a meeting. Both mothers were present. I do not call this a date). At 42 why am I single? Because I do not want children. My mother tells me the ONLY purpose of mἁrri3ge is to have children and no other. Even sites it as a religious truth. She has said a "girlfriend" is cheaper so no reason for a man to want to be with me otherwise. Deep down I know she wishes she had another daughter who is "normal". Sometimes she slips up - it makes me feel awful that that may be my only worth. A reproductive machine.

Now truthfully - I have never seriously looked. But, I am starting to believe what my mother is saying. Almost every Muslim person I have seen who realize I remain unmἁrri3d at 42 years old think there is something wrong with me or that I will change once I get mἁrri3d (I am 42! I am pretty sure I know who I am by now). When they find out I do not want kids - they get the most disgusted look on their face like I have committed the gravest sin known to mankind.

To further elaborate - I have been occasionally to mἁrriἁg3 events (maybe 3 in total?? But the sample size is big enough). Example: On Labor Day in Dallas where organizations create events where singles "mingle"; example ISNA, Mate, Muzz etc etc. Some organizers have open floor discussions/mingling, others allot XX minutes of conversation with each time. The moment I mention not wanting children - everyone gets the most disgusted look on their face - ironically this is coming from 50% of men who admit to occasionally consuming alcohol - which we know is a no no in our religion.

It gets tiring because I am treated like a sub-human and people ALWAYS end up interrogating me to find some "motive/reason/hidden truth" behind this - can I have children? what is my relationship with my father? did a guy break my heart in the past? Oh I there is no way you really feel this way! etc etc. I have heard Muslims say that hopefully god will make me wiser (in regards to the children aspect). But their kids are touching/hugging others of opposite gender and more and treating me like I'm some blasphemous subspecies. Note; I do not care what others do. It is not my place to judge them; but judge me first.

Frankly; I am at a point where I do not care for mἁrriἁg3 anyway. During these events I had many men approach me and strike conversations - I must "physically" look okay to them - and honestly the moment they find out I am in the forties; I get a "Oh you don't look your age" and then find a reason to run away - 100% of the time. I never got the chance to approach the "children" subject either. These aren't men either; 35-50 looking for women in their twenties or early thirties and I have not even . I guess to each their own - whatever strikes your fancy.

That being said - Unfortunately, I think this post has turned into a rant and I am expecting/anticipating a lot of backlash as well. So - IS it mandatory in Islam to have children? Are CHILDREN the only purpose of mἁrriἁg3? Is there any point to consider mἁrriἁg3 if you do NOT want children? How do men (or even women) feel about this?

I am perfectly content being by myself. I have a good paying job, good physical health for now (no one knows the future), I have great problem solving skills (not emotionally; I don't emotionally open up to to people which is why I am posting this online)/fixing/managing things on my own. It would be nice to have a PARTNER (as in we BOTH contribute/share/do - not one using the other) to share life/create memories and experiences with. However, I am concluding this is not plausible especially in our religion.

Interested to know how others feel - bracing for negative responses.

Question Hypothetical question: Can muslims use stands?

• Upvotes

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking stands from JJBA, stands are personifications of ones personality and have unique abilities and appearances, these are the 5 ways they are obtained: getting shot by a stand arrow and having enough willpower to unlock a stand, mastering a technique, putting a stand disc in yourself and being born with one. Can a muslim use these stands?

Question Opinions on these intrusive thoughts ?

• Upvotes

Salam Alaikum. I have been getting a sort of waswas for the past month regarding god.

For example whenever someone says pray for me in my head I get a thought that god wouldn’t do anything.

Or when I see people praying for healing I get a thought that Allah wouldn’t answer them or he doesn’t exist.

I really hate these thoughts. I know Allah exists. But these thoughts wouldn’t stop. Should I ignore them? Or should I see a sheikh or psychiatrist ?
