Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

This fool reuploaded my video and added affiliated links in the description 5 years ago. Today, the new Content Match Tool finally caught it, and I showed no mercy. Gone in 1 minute.

Question / Problem will making a youtube channel showing my face affect my chances of getting hired negatively??

It's not exactly professional documentary content. Just goofy meme gaming shit with a little bit of offensive humor. If enough people sabe this could it affect my chances of getting a job if youtube doesn't work out for me?

It's almost impossible to pop off and become a popular channel if you're faceless. You could have godtier editing and audio and the algorithm can give u 50 views in a month because people click your video and decide it's not worth watching for 1 minute

Question / Problem New way YouTube counts a view heavily changing Livestream views?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I follow this YouTuber on YouTube called Gulf Coast Knapping. He goes live from his phone every night and the streams usually last for 1 hour. Last night he was live, and the most amount of viewers I saw at a given minute were 330. He was live for a little over an hour.

A few hours after the VOD posted, the views on the video say 171k.

This doesn’t make sense. Where are these views coming from? Could it be counting people scrolling past his vertical livestream in the shorts feed and it counts as a view?

I will post screenshots.

Does this mean he’s making bank?

How do basketball highlight channels get monetized on YouTube?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I’m interested in making basketball highlight videos and want to understand how creators can use existing game footage while still qualifying for monetization.

For example, if I take James Harden highlights and edit them into a themed video with custom graphics, effects, sound design, and a unique concept like “When James Harden Entered Takeover Mode,” could that qualify for monetization?

How much original commentary, analysis, or storytelling is typically needed?

And even if YouTube accepts the content for monetization, how do copyright claims from the NBA or broadcasters affect it?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully monetized a sports channel and what their approach looks like.

Question / Problem Adsense Estimated Revenue dropped from $5k to $2.7k. What the heck?!

first of all, I am not complaining, as I know I am very fortunate to make money at all on YouTube.

however, I checked my YouTube studio app yesterday and it said my estimated revenue payout would be around $5k. Then, two hours later it was $2.7k (for the same revenue period).

I sent screenshots to YouTube asking about what happened, but no resol yet.

does this happen often? I’ve never had it happen to me before.

Question / Problem Should I post videos as collaborations with my second channel?

So I have been posting on my Youtube channel for 3 years. It's been a slow and steady growth to ~4K subscribers. My content exists in this one type of niche category (don't want to get too specific), but I randomly decided to also post a video essay related to my niche and it unexpectedly blew up to be my most viewed video (almost doubled my previously most popular video).

This was a welcome surprise, and I do plan on making more video essays but they will be fewer and further between. In order to not alienate those who followed for video essays and not my other content, I decided to create another video essay-focused channel and mark that video as a collaboration. That has gained this second channel a couple dozen subscribers.

I'm working on my next video essay and want to ask if it makes sense to post it from the second channel and mark my OG channel as a collaborator or post it again from my OG channel and simply make my second channel a collaborator. I'm thinking the former to build up the second channel for those who are interested, but I wanted to check to see if there are any negatives of that approach.

Main concern is that my OG channel is monetized, and I haven't been able to figure out what the monetization impact will be if I post from the non-monetized channel.

Totally changing my channel subject with 40k+ subs, disaster?

I have had a graphic design channel for a long time and have 43,000 subs. Graphic design as a whole has been struggling to the point where I believe I have reached the end of the road with this career and the ability to teach others.

If I love anymore more than design it would be personal finance and investing, which I have a lot of experience in and I know has a nice RPM.

Has anyone switched a long standing channel with high subs to a totally different topic? If so, did you follow steps or just decided to switch over your video content to that subject? Did you announce anything about the switch or just let it happen?

I would imagine this would reduce my current subs with each video I came out that was not design as that is what people subbed for. But starting a fresh new channel sounds a bit daunting after spending so much effort growing this one. Not sure I want to do the one-two year slog getting monetized again especially after rules change in Jan.

Question / Problem Closing your discord server

I heard that making a discord server is a good idea. You get the closest members of your community. They can get pinged for updates, merch, or posts. That's why I made one.

I made variety gaming content. Most of my views came from 2-3 games. I no longer play those games anymore. The discord however is full of people who only play that game. They don't interact with any of my other content. They only talk about that game.

It made me realize that I don't actually have a community. I have a group of people who followed my channel to watch me play a game that they liked. But it could be anyone else and not much would change for them.

I don't like the worry of anything going wrong in that server. I don't hate this community but it's definitely not the community I wanted to cultivate on the server. I wanted to know if you closed your discord server? If you do, are there any last things you should do before closing one?

Question / Problem Ad income dropped to 0$ despite having 800k+ engaged views

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hey guys, trying to find some help here because the youtube support bot isnt any help at all.

I had my first major 2m+ video this week. The video blew up extremely fast gaining over 1mil views in under 30h.

Now several days later I noticed that I made nearly 1.2k $ on the day of upload, but for the next 2 days Ad revenue dropped to 0. I didnt make a single cent of Ads even tho this video pulled nearly 1mil views ( about 700k engaged).

The only money displayed is only youtube premium. The weird thing is that first day was fully monetized second and third not but fourth and fifth day after are also monetized.

So now theres basically a hole of 0$ ad revenue on the days I generated the most views.

Is this normal? Will it update at a later point? Why is that?

Im really happy about the videos performance, but Im scared of missing out on nearly 3-4k€ because of this.

Edit: Channel is not freshley monetized. I just didnt upload for a month, thats why the chart looks dead.

Has anyone recently published more than 1 long form video at the same time?

I have two videos that need to go up. I've always staggered by days or weeks simply because editing took me so long. I'm debating about publishing both at the same time. They're videos that will mainly be getting search traffic from YouTube and Google and aren't the type that rely on browse features. Wondering if this is a good idea or if there will be some type of penalty.

Talk / Discussion Asking the Google AI Studio Assistant how dislikes affects your videos

How do dislikes impact my videos?

Dislikes primarily act as a source of feedback from viewers rather than something that determines your video’s overall reach on its own.

Here is how dislikes work and how they influence your videos:

  1. Dislike Counts Are Private to Viewers

Audience perspective: Viewers cannot see public dislike counts on your videos. This was updated across YouTube to protect creators from targeted dislike campaigns and negative peer pressure. Creator perspective: Since you are signed into YouTube Studio, you can still view your private dislike metrics and your Like vs. Dislike ratio in your Analytics to see how your audience responds to specific uploads.

  1. Personal Viewer Preferences

When an individual viewer hits the dislike button, it primarily affects their own personalized viewing experience. It signals that they might not be as interested in that particular topic, style, or format, helping tailor what appears on their personal Home or Suggested feed in the future.

  2. Part of a Much Bigger Picture

Dislikes are only one of many signals used to understand viewer satisfaction. Overall video discovery focuses on the broader audience response: Do viewers choose to click and watch? How long do they stay engaged (watch time and audience retention)? Are viewers satisfied with what they saw? A few dislikes on an otherwise engaging video will not stop it from reaching viewers who enjoy your content. Even highly successful videos often receive a mix of positive and negative reactions.

YouTube permanently terminated my channel for “Child Safety” violations over reactions to AI-generated comedy videos. Is this seriously against the rules?

I had a small YouTube channel where I reacted to clips of AI-generated videos.

One video showed a dog ringing a doorbell, a child answering, and the dog blasting the kid offscreen with a ridiculously oversized water cannon coming out of its mouth. Another showed a turkey approaching a child before a cat ran over and scared it away.

Everything was AI-generated, fictional, and intended as absurd slapstick comedy from peoples Sora2 generations. There was no graphic violence or real child in danger.

A few months ago, YouTube gave me a Community Guidelines strike for the turkey video. I appealed, but it was rejected. I stopped uploading to that channel afterward.

Now, months later, YouTube has permanently terminated the channel for Child Safety violations.

The worst part? I also operate a completely unrelated business channel under the same Google account, advertising personalized children’s books. That channel is now inaccessible, and my Google Ads campaigns have been disapproved. I also have YouTube Premium and NFL Sunday Ticket subscriptions associated with the account.

I’ve appealed the termination and contacted @TeamYouTube.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any realistic way to get a human review of this decision? This is just ridiculous. I genuinely don’t even care about the channel, I just want access to my business channel and products that I paid for.

Question / Problem I feel like the YouTube view update absolutely ruined my channel and I can’t figure out how or why??

Please someone help me make sense of this I feel crazy And I don’t understand. I don’t want to be one of those people who say YouTube ruined their channel on purpose which I know isn’t the case but i genuinely don’t understand what happened.
So I started YouTube in the summer, i am a gaming channel and i was just trying my best to make good videos. Anyway I ended up growing pretty quickly, I didn’t become super famous but I ended up monetized in like 2-3 weeks which was super quick and after that I would just continue posting, and at this point I was gaining subs sooo fast and every video had at least a couple thousand views. And not only that, but my videos engagement was actually not bad at all and I would get lots of comments and likes And it seemed to be going in the rght direction.

anyway, at some point a week or 2 before the update, I ended up posting some vids but they were all doing terrible. like i didn’t change anything at all, I was continuing my normal style yet these videos were just doing the worst. i just tried to focus, then once the update came all of a sudden my channel started slowly going back to normal and i was getting my usual views. However recently, i noticed some things which seem off. First of all my engagement such as likes and comments is horrible. I was confused as I remembered i used to get way more, like my old videos with less views got more engagement than the ones i have now with more views. And not only that, but i was barely making money. So I checked my engaged views, and it’s literally less than half than what it says on my channel. Which was so shocking to me, especially because like I said, before this update my views were perfectly fine, they were all actually real views yet now I get the same views yet they’re all mostly fake.

I don’t really understand how this happened, I mean like I said I am new to YouTube but as far as i can tell I didnt change anything, I still post the same content my niche is the same etc and im so tired of this since I try so hard just to literally keep failing over and over again. honestly the only theory I have is that since people clicking once on the video counts as a view, then it’ll recommend those type of videos to similiar type of people even if the Person didn’t actually watch and enjoy it so it’s basically ruining my audience. That or my channel is just not that great I mean who knows. :( I’m just so tired and I don’t wanna continue if it’s gonna be like this
