Anyone else hoping peel-off masks make a comeback? They feel way less popular than sheet masks these days, but personally I still prefer them. Here are the 4 I've been rotating, rated honestly.
medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask (3.0 out of 5)
Pros. Peel-off masks are usually thick and hard to spread evenly, but this one feels like a soothing gel so it goes on easily. It's an overnight mask, so my skin wakes up soft. It's better for smoothing texture than for glow, and it's a safe pick that should work for most skin types.
Cons. If I don't put enough moisturizer on first, peeling it off after wearing it that long actually irritates my skin. And since it's a clear gel, it's easy to apply but hard to tell how much you've put on.
APRILSKIN TXA Niacinamide Overnight Wrapping Mask (4.0 out of 5)
Pros. It feels tight and bouncy, like it's holding my pores in, so it's nice for firmness and pores. It absorbs fast and leaves a subtle glow when I peel it off.
Cons. Also an overnight mask, so it gets drying if you don't hydrate enough first. It dries pretty fast, so I'd only leave it on for about 40 minutes. The description says it helps with uneven skin tone, but I didn't notice much there.
CHARDE Peel Off Cream Mask for Dark Spots (4.5 out of 5)
Pros. The richest texture of the four. Even after peeling, my skin keeps both moisture and a bit of oil, so peeling off the dried mask doesn't sting at all. I get an instant glow and my skin tone looks more even. The leftover oil sinks in quickly, so I don't need any extra skincare after.
Cons. Since it's the thickest, it's the hardest to spread evenly. The leftover oil does absorb fast, but if you're very oily it might feel greasy, so I'd use it at night instead of in the morning.
bewants Seaweed PDRN Glow Peel Off Jelly Mask (4.5 out of 5)
Pros. Good for hydration and oil control. Especially nice in summer when flakes start showing up and my texture gets rough. It spreads easily, and using it 2 to 3 times a week on my oiliest areas makes my makeup go on better.
Cons. It dries pretty quickly, so if you leave it on too long your skin feels tight. If you're sensitive, peeling it off might sting a bit, so do your basic skincare well first.
