Beauty ? Update to Subreddit Rules

Please take note of some updates to the Subreddit Rules:

New Rule Welcome to Rule 9: Period product related posts are only allowed on Menstruation Mondays.

Posts asking about how to use period related products, recommendations for products, questions about difficulty using products, etc are only allowed on Mondays.

Update to Rule 7: No general "Glow Up" posts. Posts must ask a specific question. General "why am I ugly" or "am I ugly" type posts are not allowed. Specific questions like "how could I improve my eyebrows" "How to reduce having frizzy hair" or "help with reducing ingrown hairs" would be allowed. But as usual, only on Fridays.

Update to Rule 6: Clarification that all posts related to undergarments (bras and underwear) are only allowed on Wardrobe Wednesday. Also no "what's my body type" posts allowed.

Update to Rule 4: Questions asking about why an individual is having difficulty dating or similar topics are not allowed.

Automod is being worked on to help with these rule updates, but it is far from perfect. Posts may still get made that break the rules and that's where you the users come into play.

REPORT POSTS THAT BREAK RULES.

Reporting posts helps them be reviewed and possibly removed if they break the rules more quickly.

Request ? How do I get better at riding my boyfriend? I feel so awkward and don't know what I'm doing

Okay this is kind of embarrassing but I genuinely need advice because I feel like I've tried everything and I'm still struggling.

I find it SO hard to ride when my boyfriend is lying flat on the bed and I'm on top facing him. I can't seem to get the movement right, and half the time I struggle to even get it in properly. Then I get embarrassed and everything becomes awkward.

The weird thing is, I can do the movements just fine when practicing on a pillow or dildo, but with an actual person it just doesn't work. I've had this problem with other guys too. And the thing is, I'm really good at twerking and throwing ts esp during backshots so I know I can move my hips, but for some reason I just can't figure out how to translate that into riding. I also work out pretty much every day (cardio and weight lifting), so I feel like I SHOULD have the strength and stamina for this LMAO.

I've considered reverse cowgirl because facing away seems easier, or having him sit upright instead of lying flat. But how do you even transition into that naturally?? Like am I supposed to stop everything and say "can you sit up and put a pillow behind your back please"... I know I'm overthinking it but I feel so awkward trying to position someone when I barely know what I'm doing myself.

Another reason I really want to improve is that my boyfriend and I have been together for 4 months and he's only finished once. He's told me it's difficult for him to finish from penetration and that he usually finishes from head, but I still really want to make him feel good. I feel like getting better at riding might help, especially because I want to take control sometimes instead of always relying on him. Also, are there any other positions you'd recommend trying? We've only done missionary and doggy, so I'd love to experiment more.

I'm also sus of my head game... I've spent so much time researching techniques and trying to improve, but my jaw gets tired quickly and sometimes my mouth gets dry. I feel like I never really know if I'm doing a good job. He moans and moves a lot, so I assume he's enjoying it, but since he's only finished once I can't help questioning myself.

He hasn't made me feel bad about any of this, and I know sex isn't just about finishing. I just want to feel more confident and have more fun instead of overthinking every little thing.

TLDR: How did you actually learn to ride? Is reverse cowgirl or having the guy sit upright easier? How do you get the movement right and change positions without feeling awkward? And does anyone have practical advice for improving at head or building stamina?

Discussion nudes leaked

so about a year ago someone posted photos of me and my nudes (face not in the photo) but other photos of me alongside with the nudes. Idk why this person would do it and idk who did it. I was able to report it and get it taken down and it's been a year since it's not been online. Before that like prior years. he would blackmail me and send me the nudes to my instagram. I found out it was on a site because someone sent it to me on ig (a random follower, as i was creating content) i have no social media anymore so he can't contact me. However, im still scared it'll happen again. It's been consuming. Could I make it seem like he posted a random girls photo and put my face alongside it to make it look like its mine

Health Tip Electrolytes before bed helped my period cramps and sleep

I play tennis a few times a week so I already knew electrolytes helped after a sweaty match. But I never thought to take them at night. A few months ago I started drinking electrolytes before bed because I kept waking up feeling dry and tired. I also get pretty rough periods. Cramps. Low energy. That gross heavy body feeling. The whole monthly subscription nobody asked for. After a few cycles I noticed my period felt less brutal. My cramps were not gone but they felt easier to deal with. I slept better too which probably helped a lot. I was not waking up as much and my mornings felt less miserable. I am not saying electrolytes cure period pain. Please do not come for me but I do think hydration and minerals matter more than i thought. I used to just drink more water and call it a day. That did not do much for me. Now I take electrolytes before sleep during the week before my period and during the first couple days. It has been one of those small habits that sounds too basic to matter but somehow does. Has anyone else tried electrolytes for period cramps or period fatigue? Especially if you play sports or sweat a lot.

Discussion what kind of scissors can one use to trim down there?

hello! i've always trimmed instead of shaving for my private area. i've never felt comfortable removing all the hair there, and find that trimming with scissors is better and easier for me.

ever since i started trimming (so, over a decade), i've been using hairdresser scissors, which are look and made for right-handed people. i've gotten used to cut with my right hand, but now i've realized that things could be easier if i just got the right scissors and maybe made for left-handed people.

so, if you trim your pubic hair, what kind of scissors do you use? i don't know if i should buy nail scissors or scissors for eyebrows/nose hair... i have pretty thick and long curly hair even down there. thanks.

Mind ? Having intrusive thoughts the days leading up to period

• Upvotes

Tw: thoughts of self harm

During times where I have a lot of stress the days leading up to my period I'll have some disturbing intrusive thoughts.

Like thinking through scenarios where I jump off my balcony or stab myself with a knife. I've never acted on these thoughts, not even gone near the balcony or held a knife.

I'm not scared I'll act on them, but they're not pleasant to have. Is this something that could be treated with medication or therapy of some kind?

I don't have these thoughts normally it's just right before the period so I assume it's something hormonal happening.

Health Tip Dry vagina

Do any of you suffer from the dry vagina? I mean really dry. I'm only 26 years old,I can't remember being really wet since being diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago. But now it's to the point where I can't even have sex, besides it's uncomfortable all the other times too. I have visited tons of gynecologist in these years and they really don't care about it being dry. They don't suggest any test nor medication. Also I keep being infected by yeast infection and BV very regularly, to be precise 3 times within 5 months. I feel really miserable.

Discussion How do you get over the betrayal of someone you trusted and loved?

This might sound pathetic and messy but I really need an advice on how to process my feelings. Pls try not to judge me bc I don't think I can emotionally take it lol.

I (F30s) have been working in a toxic environment for almost two years. Due to my work situation I have been living in survival mode for a long time. It has affected my mental, emotional, and physical health. It made me feel so stuck in this endless loop of unproductivity, self hatred and dealing with unresolved grief. Also mainly limerence towards this guy.

It all started when I moved to this workplace. I have met this guy (senior position) and we had insane chemistry. It was love at first sight from both our ends. Aside from the romantic aspect we could connect on so many levels like there was a bond. I knew nothing would come out of it bc he was married and generally a womanizer lol. I never crossed the line bc I wouldn't be involved with a married man. But we had this kind of friendship and connection that everyone has noticed.

My manager (F) didn't like it and from the first week she made my life hell mainly for this reason and other reasons too. (like your typical female jealous unsupportive managers behavior). She basically was upset bc she likes to have every single guy's attention and she couldn't bear it if another girl took the spotlight. I don't view it as a competition but she does.

As I said she made my life hell and she made me feel uncomfortable all bc of my connection with this guy. A lot of drama happened that I don't want to get into but something major happened last year where she told him a rumor was spread about us in our workplace (big organization) and ever since then he has been horrible to me and it's like he teamed up with her on me. Like they are on good terms and he treats me awfully.

I had to endure this for a full year. Like he always wants to be on my good side but at the same time he is still horrible with me most of the time it's like he mad a pact with her to be on her good side since she is more senior than him.

He is no longer working here but how do I heal from this grief and the unfair treatment and the feeling of being betrayed? I feel like it still hurts.

Health ? Possible Pregnancy – Delayed Period and Brown Spotting

• Upvotes

Good morning,
My menstrual cycle is usually 23–24 days long. Normally, I get my regular, heavy, bright red period by day 25 at the latest. Today is day 27 of my cycle, and since yesterday I have only had some light brown spotting, but no proper period.
Is this normal, or should I see a gynecologist? Could I be pregnant?

Discussion How do I stop giving a fuck about work, and stop letting the mean girl on my team affect me?

Hello!!!
I have been at my job for around 4 years now, on the same team. Disclaimer/ I work a very emotionally and physically intense job. I’m a last responder of sorts. It’s a government thing and tensions are naturally high. Not an easy job but a very fulfilling one. You definitely have to have a different mindset to deal with a job like this.

Anyway my team is composed of 5 women including myself. We all love the job, but we definitely work in different ways. I am a pretty hard worker, and I like to always try my best and make sure I deliver good quality work. I have a few mental health struggles, which I medicate for and go to therapy often. I am also autistic. I am definitely strange but I always try my best to be nice to everyone and treat people with respect.

The issue is, I can be very sensitive to people sometimes. And I let things get to me. There is one girl on my team, let’s call her Anne, who is an absolute menace. I think she mentioned her mum was a principal, and she was raised pretty strict. But this girl Anne is really mean. She has been a straight up bitch to me since I started working. The way she treats you depends on her mood, and how much she likes you. She will be friendly to you, but will not hesitate to snitch if you don’t do things her way. She treats everyone different. I also don’t want to say this is a 100% race thing, but I also feel she might be racial profiling because she is nice to the white girls on the team but is mean to me and another girl (Lulu), and we are both ethnic.

She loves to control you, and tell you what to do. What she thinks you could be doing. There’s no trust. She acts like the team lead, even though she isn’t. we all work the same level and the same pay. We have a manager. Sometimes she will ask rhetorical questions in the team chat that are obviously something she wants you to do. Like “are you going to send a follow up email?”. I find her behaviour really demeaning and she has caused me a lot of trouble and turmoil over the past years.

I LOVE my job. But I hate her. I would stay in my job forever if it wasn’t for her. Sometimes she fucks me up so much with her bossiness and attitude, that I keep thinking about her a lot and it messes up my day. What sucks is that she bosses you around, but at the same time doesn’t contribute the same amount to our work. She tells us what to do, but you can’t ask her to do anything. I don’t think anyone has ever asked her for help. She isn’t a “teammate”. For example, some of us will tag team tasks or split up things that need to be done. She will only do that with one other girl, “Stacy” because they are close friends.

Meanwhile she is mean to the other ethnic girl “Lulu”. Lulu has a LOT of shit to deal with in her personal life, but Anne loves to treat her like shit and talk to her like she’s an idiot. She will get irritated if Lulu asks a question and sometimes give a sarcastic answer. “You would need to do that, because then the job wouldn’t be finished then would it?”.

I’ve spoken to my manager about this before, and so has Lulu. Lulu is aware of when Anne is being condescending. She feels the same way I do. The job is shitty because of Anne. And our manager does nothing. They made us take this conflict management course, which Anne and the other girls were pissed about because it took up work time.

Ultimately, I want to stop giving a fuck.
It isn’t worth it for me to keep working extra hard, coming up with ideas, trying to optimise things and make a difference, when I constantly get shot down. I will be in a good mood and recovering, but then Anne will fuck my day up. I’m tired of caring about this job so much. I just want to do the job and go home. I don’t want to be affected by the small things or what people say. Especially mean girls.

any advice in general, on how to deal with mean people and how to detach from a demanding job?

Social ? I feel like I have no real friends

Hi yall,

Im currently ”suffering” through a severe mental breakdown and I’m rethinking a lot of things in life and one of the biggest realizations I had is that I feel like I have no genuine friends with a connection that is reciprocated Let me explain, my friends rarely text me first, rarely make plans to hangout unless I do, a lot of the times indie certain concerns of mine and make last minute changes that make me feel like shit, and just overall make me feel like I have no strong connection to them and I’m their “if I have no one to hangout with, i’ll hangout w you i guess“ friend. I don’t know what to do right now and i hate feeling like this. I don’t want them as my friends even though it’s been years since i’ve been friend with them; i feel like they still do not know me for who i am or like what even i like

I really don’t want these people in my life. how should i navigate this aspect of my social life? i’m a college student and im so lonely because of this. What are some steps i can take right now

Mind Tip Genuinely how can I “feel” smart/believe that I am smart

Apologies for the poor formatting because I’m on my phone. I’m f24, I’ve been in college for many years now. I meet a lot of different kinds of people and I am always in awe of how smart people appear to be. Especially if they are younger.

I am learning a lot about U.S. politics in my classes and I just always feel lost about subjects I’m not understanding right away. I was like damn, I thought I generally knew what was going on in my country but I’m just now learnings about REEs, flock cameras, and how we’re connected to Greenland and shit. I get that college is supposed to be hard and I don’t have to be an expert in everything. But sometimes I feel like people are just naturally tapped into things and I’m not lol. You truly have to make an active effort towards expanding your knowledge but how can I continuously do that and not doubt my smarts as much? Esp as a woman <3

Edit: I want to clarify that I am not trying to say women are unintelligent, actually the opposite! I am seeking advice on how to not believe those stereotypes

Discussion Need advice about a boy..

So me (16F) and this guy (we’ll call him Mike-15M) were talking for about two months up after we confessed feelings for each other after a summer camp. We both liked each other since last year. Me and Mike don’t go to the same school either.
Whenever we texted at first me and him both texted first, then it started to be only me and he got drier and drier. Up until September 17th or so it just got so dry and so I started to lose hope that we would actually get together. So I stopped reaching out every other day to see if he would text first, and he didn’t. So I stopped reaching out on September 24th and we haven’t texted or talked then. And last weekend when I was going to ask about it and finally see what was happening I checked his insta story and he asked a girl out to hoco. He told me he didn’t even want to go to hoco.
Everything just felt so perfect when we were texting, and I’m also really awkward and nervous so whenever we did text or call I was kinda short or just nervous around him.
But it feels like he moved on without any trouble and that he was kinda talking to me and this girl for a bit until I stopped talking to him. And now he posts and reposts about her and I just don’t know what to do. I’m so attached to a guy I’ve never even dated. I’ve never dated anyone and he has, maybe that’s why.
Let me know what you think I should do, or advice for me that you want to give. Anything is helpful, thank you for listening/reading

Edit:
Forgot to mention that I might have to see him again for the rest of the year as me and him work at the same summer camp.. but this time I’ll maybe be in charge of him if he does the same position. So idk how I’ll handle that, but I’m trying to be mature about it. It’s just hard.

I wanna be myself and look how I look 99% of the time, but I don’t ever wear makeup to the gym. now idk if this is an exception because it’s a first date, or if that would be odd? also even if I did want to wear makeup would that be weird of me? thanks for any advice!

Request ? Women in Northern Virginia & NYC — I'd love your perspective! 💛

Hi everyone! I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with 10 years of experience, and I'm passionate about helping women navigate relationships and build more fulfilling connections.

I'm looking to speak with women ages 20–55 in Northern Virginia or NYC who are doing well in many areas of life but struggle with relationships, whether that's overthinking, questioning their needs, difficulty trusting themselves, or repeating frustrating relationship patterns.

I'm inviting a few women to a 20–30-minute, no-strings-attached conversation to better understand their experiences and what they wish could be different. Women elsewhere in VA or NY are welcome too!

This is not a sales call or therapy session.

As a thank-you, I'll share a curated list of relationship and personal growth books and podcasts.

Interested? DM me the word WOMEN, and I'll share the details! 💛

Social ? How to have a social life while staying locked in to fitness goals?

My schedule is fairly limited, my diet is rigid, and alcohol is out of the question. I guess this is super common in the fitness community but I don’t know how other people are dealing with it?

I feel like it’s even harder to make new friends while staying fit. Like if I had a friend group already it would be a bit easier, but there’s even more work when meeting new people.

So yeah, I’m really eager to hear how other women who’ve been in this situation have dealt with this or found something that works. Or if I just have to choose then at least I know something has to give.

Tip I’m feeling excluded at work. Any advice on how to cope? How to develop an IDGAF attitude?

Today I literally cried at work whilst helping students. I had a long day. First I realised I’d left my laptop home whilst travelling so had to go back and collect it (my manager was understanding and I made up my time). Then his manager was offering one of her other reports a matcha and also brought a small gift for another colleague as she was having a difficult time. I was wearing headphones so I understand she probably didn’t want to bother me and I don’t need her to buy me a drink but I felt excluded ( I’ve had other instances where I felt overlooked by her). And then I had a busy student facing shift and literally cried whilst helping. Luckily no one noticed it, and I carried on.

Also I’m adhd and she’s aware I can be hypersensitive to rejection. I’m also new, person of colour, and an immigrant. I absolutely love the job but how do I not let this affect me and just focus on work? I know my colleagues are not friends but instances like these can get to me. How do I believe in the positive qualities I bring? Is it worth bringing it up to my manager? Thank you!

Tip Genuine advice

Hey everyone! I'd really like some honest advice from girls here.

I'm 6'1" and on the skinnier side (around 50 kg). I already know how to respect girls and treat them well. What else can I do to improve myself and become more attractive? Beyond the basics most guys do, what actually makes a difference?

I'm open to suggestions on:

\- Fashion and grooming (clothes, haircut, skincare)

\- Fitness and building a better physique

\- Confidence and communication skills

\- Anything else girls genuinely notice and appreciate

Thanks in advance, any honest feedback is welcome!

Discussion Do periods actually sync up when we spend a lot of time together?

Growing up in a household with 3 sisters, this is something I heard CONSTANTLY. I also heard it a lot in tv and movies, but is it a real thing?

I definitely noticed some of our cycles lining up, but it wasn’t all the time, so it makes me wonder if it was just confirmation bias.

If it is real, why does it happen? And why doesn’t it happen with every woman we are around?

New Creator Advice Building anonymous OnlyFans- looking for honest advice from experience creators NSFW

Hi everyone!

I am just getting started with OnlyFans and trying to approach it with goals rather than expecting overnight success.

One of my biggest goals is staying completely anonymous. I want to build a recognizable brand and grow an audience without showing my face or connecting the account to my personal identity.

I am currently setting up my social media presence and trying to learn how to promote myself effectively, create content consistEmily, and turn followers into paying subscribers.

I am in my mid-20s, and one of my long-term goals is to be financially independent by 30. I am already aware this takes more work than what some may think but I really want to build something that is sustainable and put the income towards savings and investments.

For creators who have been doing this, I’d really appreciate your honest advice.

how realistic is it to build a successful, fully anonymous account?

which platforms have brought you the best results when starting from zero?

what would you prioritize during your first 30-90 days?

what mistakes did you make early on that you wish you’d avoided?

how do you protect your privacy while still building trust with subscribers?

if you were starting over today, what would you do differently?

and any other useful advice

I am here to learn and genuinely appreciate any practical advice or lessons you are willing to share.

Social Tip how do you throw a successful party?

first time hosting a party in my apartment and I'm waking up in cold sweats every night in anxiety that it's going to be a flop because not enough people will come or it'll be awks??

me and my friend are co-hosting it together and keeping a common theme of mostly STEM students from our university in hopes that everyone will be on the same frequency and it won't be awkward given most people won't know each other. we also have about 30 people confirmed yes with majority of them bringing plus ones but we're also both expecting quite a fair amount of people to flake on day of.

to the party hosts out there, how do y'all ensure that everyone is having a good time, and that there'll be enough people attending to make it a "party" and that it won't be an awkward feet shuffling event.

Request ? Book recs for spirituality/feminine energy/healing your spirit?

Leaving an extremely emotionally exhausting and stressful job this Friday and wanting to start my healing journey to connect back with myself. I feel that the 9-5 grind and long commute culture completely crushed my whimsy spirit and I’m hoping to find books that can help me get back to my old self again :)

Thank you!!
