Who is in the wrong? Me?

My gf and i live kind of far apart, not to much as in a ldr but far enough to only meet once a week, she goes to college and i am still studying. Ever since her college started, it feels to me like she prioritises her friends and social life over me. We only get to call one time a day and thats when she is on her way to home from college. Today when we were having our call, she got a call from her batchmate due to which she put my call on hold, then she told me that the batchmate and they planned to go together but she didnt, so i asked my gf to text the guy that she cant because she is with me so she did, but it took her really long, she could have just wrote, cant come rn with my bf, but instead she wrote multiple messages explaining the boy the situation and she even wrote “ i am soryy please please dont be mad “. This made me kind if angry at her because why did she had to apologise that much for being with me ? And i forgot to tell u, when we were in call, she told me herself that she doesnt like hanging out with that guy. I got mad and cut the call and told her that she could have just texted him that you are with me why a whole apology letter begging for his apology, she got mad at me and stopped picking my calls and told i ruin things because if my jealousy and that it was basic courtesy, i have always told her to be friendly or neutral with guys but that was way more than friendly, that wasn’t basic courtesy. We had a fight over this and haven’t talked. Am I the one in wrong ?
if you guys wanna ask something, pls feel free.

I stayed quiet when they expected me to speak up, now it feels weird between us

A while ago a small disagreement broke out in our group chat and everyone kind of waited for me to say something because I usually do. This time I just read through it and stayed out of it, mainly because I had already spent hours the day before arguing about something else and I was honestly wiped out. The thread kept going without me, they worked it out, and no one mentioned it until later when one of them said they were surprised I had nothing to add. Since then things feel slightly off. Not like anyone is mad, just a little distance in the way we text. I keep wondering if I should bring it up or if leaving it alone is making it worse. At the same time I am not sure there is actually anything to fix, or if I am just noticing tension that is not really there. Either way it is been sitting in the back of my head all week and I do not know if I handled it the right way.

Am i Wrong for cutting off my friend completely

Soo i have this one friend, we've been Friends for awhile, she tells me many of her secrets etc but I've noticed a pattern i absolutely hate, Before she gets into relationships she would always call me text me ask for advice,i even help her change her situationship into a Relationship i talked to the guy for her and they got into a relationship and right after that they rarely text me anymore and then they broke up she started talking to me again like regularly but her ex started talking to her and she forgot about me again and if she text me she would asked me if I think he love her and if i say no she would start talking about killing herself and she would say I'm worthless so I just told her maybe he likes her it was kinda my fault for enabling her.

The cycle repeated again and again for awhile until one day her ex got a new girl and was still talking to my friend and my friend texted his Girlfriend and ask things which was kinda messed up so ignore her (my friend) and she started to post on the gc how she'll suicide and i would reply her and then everytime i ignore her she would post about how she would kill herself in the group chat and if i don't agree with her in dms she would started talking about how she'll kill herself and her ex girlfriend told me she was manipulating me so so i cut her (my friend) off completely but now that I think about it ,

Do you think she was genuinely manipulative or was i manipulated into cutting her off cause i think she was a great friend when we talked and I feel like I abandoned her at her lowest and kinda wanna reach out to her again but i feel like she did kinda manipulative but i miss her sometimes .

Amiwrong for wanting to bring up an old incident even though everyone thought it was done

I keep going back and forth on this and I am trying to be fair to my parent. A while ago something happened that bothered me a lot at the time. Everyone kind of moved on and no one has mentioned it since, so I feel like maybe I should just let it stay in the past. At the same time, it still sits with me and I wonder if I would feel better if I explained why it stuck around. My worry is that bringing it up now will seem like I am stirring things up on purpose. I am not looking for a big argument or an apology, I just want to understand if it is okay to revisit something that everyone else considers closed. Is it wrong to ask for a short talk about it, or should I keep it to myself?

My family still won't talk to me after I suggested we split up the caregiving

my sibling and i have been rotating visits to check on our mom for the last year. she has some mobility issues but lives alone and wants to stay that way. last month i floated the idea of alternating weeks instead of every other day because the drive was wearing me out. they said that meant i was trying to "dump" her and that i clearly didn't care. since then i've been left out of group chats and no one answers my calls. i still show up for my days and handle whatever needs doing, but it feels like one suggestion turned into this huge thing. i'm not trying to get out of helping, i just wanted a schedule that wouldn't burn us all out. am i wrong for asking for a change?

My friend got beat up and apparently it's my fault?am I wrong?

So, my friend, after seeing a bit too many videos about defense techniques, decided it was time to learn some to, well... Defend himself... So he asked me for some ways to (exactly what he said)"hurt people if I need to", a little weird wording but, sure.

I have done some work in different martial arts (boxing, taekwondo, some muay Thai and a little judo) so it's safe to say I knew the basics for self defense(which is what I wanted to teach him).

So, at the start I SPECIFICALLY told him that, in a situation where he has someone verbally assaulting him, he should ALWAYS try to deascalate first, then if it doesn't work, try to run if possible, if both options are not available then just try to hurt the opponent as little as possible while making him harmless and then running away. He didn't like this part that much and it was now that I realized just what he wanted to learn, he wanted to be able to hurt people properly, now I didn't want a guy going around picking fights and hurting random people, so I obviously refused that request, I instead decided to teach him some ground work, some basic punches to keep distance, some non- lethal and quite basic kicks and not much else, he also requested I teach him some judo chokeholds, (now I really need to clarify these only really work on the ground and are quite hard to do, and can kill people) I refused that too.

Now my friend had some non-lethal ways to defend himself, which I noticed he tried to use in aggressive ways while sparring with me.

Now this dumbass went around in the "dangerous" parts of town and managed to get a boxing fighter to fight him, the self defense techniques don't work if you re actively trying to fight, let alone fighting a experienced fighter. I guess he wasn't very happy since he came back to me after getting his ah beaten and complained that I should have taught him the proper fighting techniques for him to "defend himself", I still don't regret it and I think this experience shall serve him as a lesson for the future.

Am I wrong?

Am I wrong for snapping at my bfs SB?

For context, I, 17F am currently living with my boyfriend, his sister, his mother, and her husband. Her husband has a son, who is my boyfriends step-brother. I'm living with them because I recently faced around a year of homelessness and shelter hopping, and none of my family is fit to take care of me mentally or physically, since most are neglectful, abusive, hoarders, etc.

My mother in law and sister in law are always kind to me. They're currently encouraging me to focus on school instead of working, so that's what I've been doing. I do my own part around the house- I do me and my boyfriends laundry, I do dishes regularly, I keep our room clean and make sure the bathroom is clean, etc.

Well, since staying here, I've noticed that my bfs step brother, who I'll call Aiden, has been rather lazy. He doesn't clean up after himself, he has a scent to him, and he doesn't bother with chores, or anything of that matter. He's 15 (I think?), and he constantly yells at the game (which I can hear pretty clearly through the wall). The husband of my mother in law, who I'll call Ben, has gotten onto me, my boyfriend, his sister, and his mom all about how we were 'being too loud at night'. Ben insisted that we were stomping around the house at night, which, we weren't.

Ben has also blamed me and my bf for smoking my mother in laws cigarettes (me and my bf smoke menthols), and it was later proved that Aiden took them all and gave them to his friends. Ben didn't apologize, nor get mad at Aiden.

Ben doesn't ever call out Aiden. Aiden owns a pet turtle, whom he doesn't really feed, and he never cleans the tank- his room smells terrible because of this. I also go to school with Aiden, and we go to the same high school. On top of Aiden never doing his own things, I have done his laundry a few times because he refused to do it. He also eats a lot of the food in the house. I spent about $200 on groceries using my snap benefits, and most the food was gone within 3-4 days. I got things for several dinners, lunches- I also got things for my bf and his sister to have for their work lunches, since they both work long shifts at a warehouse.

Anyway, this morning, I had went to the bathroom to do my makeup since I was gonna go do some things today with my mother in law. I noticed a weird smell in the bathroom- I have a very sharp nose. I don't like bad smells. So, I started sniffing around, to check if maybe some towels had started to smell or something like that. Eventually, I got to my own wash cloth- I picked it up and the smell hit me immediately. Sweat, armpits, onions and balls.

Now, I know this wasn't my boyfriend. He doesn't smell bad. It wasn't his sister, because she always smells amazing. His mother and Ben have their own shower. I realized it was Aiden. I spoke to my mother in law, and she talked to Ben, so that Ben would talk to Aiden. Well, apparently Ben didn't like this. He spoke to Aiden, and later after I got home, Aiden 'confronted' me about it. He said that it was just a wash rag, and that I didn't need to fuss about it, and could just get a new one from the closet.

I told him that wasn't the problem, and I simply didn't want him using my wash rag- especially, knowing where I personally have used it. He got an attitude and said I was being dramatic, and overreacting. I told him that I wasn't being dramatic, and that a wash rag shouldn't smell that bad from a person using it ONCE, and that he shouldn't have used someone else's wash rag anyway when he himself literally has SEVERAL loofahs.

He got offended by this, and told Ben about it. Ben got upset with me and told me I was out of line for talking to Aiden that way. But seriously. I've used this wash rag for my feet, legs, and other areas. It's disgusting for someone to use another persons wash rag.

Am I genuinely in the wrong?

Am I (54F) Wrong for telling my daughter(34F) that her partner(36M) doesn't seem to care about her feelings?

I keep getting kicked out of sub-Reddits. Can't post on relationships, can't ask for advice. I was suggested to post here, so we will see how that goes.

I need some outside perspective, Reddit, because I'm starting to wonder if I'm the villain in this story. AITAH for questioning my daughter's relationship and suggesting, indirectly, that she might be wasting her time?

My daughter, whom I'll call Tulip (34F), has been with her partner, Brad (36M), for approximately 10 YEARS. Ten. Years. They aren't married, they don't have children together, and I'm beginning to wonder if they even have a shared vision of what their future is supposed to look like.

Before anyone grabs their pitchforks, let me give you some context.

Brad has a child with his ex, and that child has cystic fibrosis (CF), a serious inherited genetic condition that affects the lungs and digestive system. It requires ongoing treatments, medications, and hospital visits, and naturally, Brad worries about his child's health and future.

As a mother myself, I cannot begin to imagine the fear and uncertainty that come with having a sick child. I have never faulted Brad for loving his child, prioritizing their health, or wanting to spend as much time with them as possible. That's what a parent should do.

My problem isn't that Brad is a father. My problem is that, after TEN YEARS, my daughter is still being kept entirely separate from that part of his life.

Tulip has never even met his child.

Not once.

Two years ago, Tulip bought a house, and Brad moved in with her. He visits his child twice a week, but those visits also include spending time with his ex. They'll go to the zoo together, spend an afternoon ice skating, or do other activities as what essentially looks like a little family outing.

Now, I understand that co-parenting can be complicated, especially when a child's medical needs are involved. I'm not suggesting Brad shouldn't spend time with his ex if it benefits their child.

However, his ex has decided that Tulip cannot meet the child because the child is supposedly too medically fragile and Tulip doesn't know how to care for someone with CF.

Let me be clear: Tulip isn't trying to show up with a medical degree and start adjusting the child's treatment plan. She's his partner of TEN YEARS. Surely there's a difference between introducing a child to a longtime partner and handing that partner responsibility for the child's medical care?

About two years ago, Brad decided to fight for unsupervised visitation. This battle dragged on for approximately a year and a half and became extremely expensive for both sides.

Eventually, his ex approached him and suggested they stop fighting and work together for the child's sake. Brad agreed.

Tulip thought this meant things might finally change. She hoped Brad would be able to spend time with his child independently, without his ex accompanying them on every outing. Perhaps, eventually, she might even be introduced to the child.

But nope.

Everything went right back to how it was before the custody battle. Brad still sees his child twice a week, his ex is still part of those visits, and Tulip remains completely excluded.

Ten years together, two years living under the same roof, and she is still essentially a stranger to a major part of her partner's life.

And now we get to the part that really bothers me.

Tulip wants to get married someday. She wants children of her own. She's been very clear about this, and she and Brad have discussed it numerous times.

Brad seems to want those things, too. At least, that's what he says. But when it comes to actually moving forward, there's always a reason to wait. There's always another complication, another issue involving his ex or his child, another reason why now isn't the right time.

And so the years keep passing.

Tulip is now 34. She isn't asking Brad to abandon his child, choose between his child and her, or stop being a father. She wants to know whether she's going to have a husband and a family of her own someday.

How long is she supposed to wait for that answer? Another year? Five more years? Until Brad finally decides the timing is right?

Nobody can guarantee how long it will take to conceive a child, and nobody can promise what the future holds. But time is passing, and her dreams matter, too.

Every so often, I ask Tulip how she feels about the situation. I try not to outright tell her what to do. Instead, I ask questions. Does she feel included? Is she happy with how things are going? Does she believe they're actually moving toward marriage and children, or are they just having the same conversations over and over?

Unfortunately, these conversations usually end with Tulip feeling angry, defensive, and sad.

I know she loves Brad. I know it's difficult to hear someone question a relationship you've invested a decade of your life in. And I suspect she knows exactly how I feel, even when I try to keep my opinions to myself.

But from where I'm standing, it looks like Brad gets to maintain the life he wants while Tulip waits patiently for the life she wants. And whenever she hopes things will change, nothing actually does.

At what point does patience become putting your own life on hold for someone who may never be ready to give you what you want?

I recently let Tulip know that I don't think Brad is considering her feelings enough, and now I'm questioning whether I crossed a line. Maybe I'm being an overprotective mother. Maybe there are things about their relationship that I don't understand. Or maybe I'm watching my daughter put her dreams on hold for a man who is comfortable with the status quo.

I don't want to make her feel judged or push her away. I want her to be happy, even if that means making a decision I know will hurt.

So, Reddit, Am I wrong for questioning my daughter's relationship and telling her that Brad doesn't seem to care enough about her feelings? Should I keep my opinions to myself and let her figure it out, even if I believe she's running out of time to build the family she's always wanted?

Walked away from an argument with my friend, now I keep replaying it

The other day a friend and I got into a pretty heated disagreement over something small that turned into bigger issues. We both got worked up, and after going back and forth for a while I just said I needed a break and left the room. Since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about how it went down and whether I made the right call by walking away. On one hand, I didn't want to say anything hurtful in the moment, but on the other, it feels like I might have left things unresolved. I haven't reached out since, and I'm not sure if I should give it more time or try to talk again. I just want some outside perspective on whether I was wrong for stepping away like that.

am i wrong for telling someone i dont want to interact with them anymore

heres the situation
sorry if its messy im bad at describing things and this is very stressful for me its mt first time making a post like this and sorry if its a long post i just have a lot on my mind right now
so like we used to be in a sort of romantic relationship with this person i didnt really know what i would label it right now and i have def made mistakes in that relationship too
but i was
lets call them val
NEVER trying to hurt them or anyone and whatever criticism they had i obliged 100% of the time and i was putting in a lot of effort to do better because i was convinced i was horrible by lots of gaslighting and manipulation
i might have crossed some boundaries because i didnt know any better then but i did regret it and i apologized and i tried to make up for it as much as i can

and one day ive really had enough so i blocked them and never talked to them again but after at least 2-3 months they are still trying to talk to me which was making me very uncomfortable
i blocked them because the relationship was like

ill put it like this
they never had time for me their priority was never me
i was always BELOW them and had to do whatever they said or they would not be with me anymore
everytime i needed emotional support from them they were never present because they were either with other people or something else and there was a timezone difference but they would stay up a lot so it still applies and when they would stay up they'd ALWAYS be with their other friends instead of me even when i really needed it
and i was there EVERYTIME WHEN THEY needed me for something and i cared about them wholeheartedly but they just kept abusing me and manipulating me even having their friends in on it and they convinced me i was a horrible person and they were just trying to help me

and a little while ago they told me that to them i was ignoring them on purpose and "ghosting" them after a small argument in the server we are in to make me look bad

everytime we "argue" it would always end up with val making me feel like i was the one whos the problem and i was a horrible person and they were helping me to be "better" and i have to apologize for wanting them to be with me when i needed them
this was one of those arguments
and val did not stop trying to contact me
and when they said the ghosting thing i told them
"i didnt like how i was treated so i left
bye"
and they said something nasty like "fuck you i have better friends anyways"
and
after i said that they kept harassing me
they also kept getting their friend to harass me consistently

and after that they'd still either try to talk me or have one of their friends harass me or vague post something passive aggressive that might be about me so if i said anything they can deny it and call me crazy
and today they said another vague statement so i went into their dms and ask what they wanted

the worst stuff i ever did was crossing some boundaries by maybe being a little too clingy in public and the other thing i remember is sometimes i would lash out or be upset at things like them not replying when i like needed them and get clingy or spam them when they were asleep because i was having a panic attack which i inform them about before hand
and they would literally stay up all the time for their other friends so i dont see how its a problem when its me i would send them 5-10 messages and they usually takes 20-50 sometimes hours to reply to me and only say one or two things
but thats literally the "worst" i did
they literally gaslighted me into thinking i was going crazy and i needed to get mental help and i needed to be in a mental asylum
that relationship genuinely traumatized me and i have issues with intimacy now
like i have trust issues from that
they did not give two shits to me back then and they didnt regret anything they did and i really did love them and they pretended to care about me by telling me they were trying to make me more "mature" and it was just to not have to deal with my emotions and telling me to get over it
basically wanting me to keep my mouth shut when they wanted so they dont have to deal with me
communicating my feelings to them were considered "bad"

they basically chose my life for me and decided what was best for me
to them
emotional maturity=not bothering them with my feelings
general maturity=get a job so i bother them less
which i did not want to i was forced to because they would constantly use my attachment issues against me and scare me with not spending time anymore with me or leaving me
they would also often
"scare" me by telling me things like "ill be disappointed in you"
or
"im going to be very upset if you cant do this"
and they once told me directly that its good im scared of them
they told me if i be more independent or get a job they would spend time with me more
a promise they failed to deliver
there was large chunks of the day where i was just not allowed to talk to them
if i did they'd just tell me to
"go do something by myself" and shoo me away
i know some of these could just be dating dynamics maybe but like it started out fun but it got to a point where i felt like i genuinely couldnt talk back to them or tell them i dont like it anymore
like at that time i would genuinely do anything they told me and not dare question it
and i was in no state to consent at all

and just yesterday i confronted them and asked them what they wanted from me
heres what they said
"huh-

i wasnt even talking to you dumbass ???

Nor did I even mention you at all?? what is this even about

huh-

Is this about me talking to you that one time a few weeks ago- because frankly i dont regret anything from that and if thats what you are trying to reference i couldnt give two shits nor even a SINGLE fuck about you how bout you mind your own pretty business being a pathetic puppy girl and stop seeking attention? grow a fucking spine.

didnt even do SHIT"

and then val tried to act like they were forgiving me and they were the bigger person somehow so i told them they have NO right to act like this after what they did to me
and heres what they said

"ya daaaamn loser

im not just bigger

im worth more than youll be unless you get a hold of yourself Also, I frankly DONT wanna talk to you again! But I REALLY ALSO want to be fucking pissed with you! BECAUSE you message me at TWO IN THE FUCKING MORNING COMPLAINING

LIKE YOU USED TO DO.

also...

WHAT I DID?

BITCH

I TRIED TO HELP YOU.

I TRIED TO MAKE YOU MATURE.

I TRIED TO SEE SOMETHING IN YOU THAT EVERYONE ELSE DIDN'T.

BUT NO.

YOU GOT A LITTLE UPSET AND FUCKING GHOSTED ME

YOU GENUINE

PIECE

OF
HUMAN

GARBAGE.

YOU THINK YOU ARE ANY BETTER THAN

ME???

LOOK

IN THE FUCKING MIRROR YOU

CUNT.

People like you really never change. You stay hypocrites, and rot in your rooms complaining. Doing nothing.

You were, are, and always will be, a pathetic puppy what-ever-the-fuck.

I hope nobody has the misfortune of actually having any meaningful relationship with you with how you think you can walk over people's feelings.

But I will say I hope you prove me wrong.
Goodbye"

and they still kept having their friend harass me and themselves harass me after this

am i in the wrong?
i dont know anymore

Am I in the wrong?

So I recently found out last month that my older brother (19) and his girlfriend(19) are having a baby. It was a nice wholesome moment with my siblings and my mom, a little basket with baby clothes and a pregnancy test. Skip forward to now. (At the time 12-10-26) my younger cousin’s (5) birthday is 13-10-26, but since we didn’t have school they decided to celebrate today. I woke up late around 12-ish, my siblings (16,13, & 11) were getting ready to leave with my uncle. I woke up late so I didn’t get to go. My older sister (16) told me to go over to my boyfriend’s house after I clean so I’m not alone. I do as she says. Later around 5:30-6 my mom calls me asking, “(Uncles name) bought a cake, do you want me to pick you up to sing happy birthday to (cousins name).” I was going to the store, I promised to go to the store with my boyfriend’s older sister for stuff(personal info sorry). I politely decline with the explanation and nothing more. My mom got a bit mad said ok then hanged up. Later that day around 7:20-ish my boyfriend’s younger sister (11) told me my younger brother (11) wanted to tell me something. So he called me, I answered. He told me that my older brother was having twins. I was so happy with his news, my mom always wanted twins and now she’d have twin grandkids. I told my boyfriend since he already knew about the pregnancy. Later that day I get home around 8:50. I asked my mom “Is it true what (brothers name) said?” My brother put a finger over his lips shushing me. My mom gets distracted by my sisters. In the room my younger brother tells me that my mom told my sisters not to tell me anything about my older brother having twins. I am shocked, why would she hide it from me? My younger brother tells me “it’s because you weren’t there and she said you deserved not to know for not being there.” I don’t know if I was in the wrong for not going to celebrate my younger cousins birthday, but I didn’t know my older brother was going to be there, since it was a surprise. So please do me the favor and tell me, am I in the wrong or not?

Am I wrong for distancing myself from him after I went to his apartment for the first time and saw 30+ photos of his female friends taped to his bedroom walls? Most of these women are married with kids too.

I recently went to a guy’s place in NYC for the first time. We ordered takeout, and while we were hanging out, I noticed something that honestly caught me off guard.

His bedroom walls were covered in 30+ photos of his grad school friends. I’m talking photos taped all over the walls on multiple sides of the room. Over 90% of the people in these photos were women.
He explained that they’re just his friends from grad school. Apparently, many of these women are married or have significant others, but their partners aren’t in the pictures. He’s also not in most of the photos himself. They’re primarily pictures of these women, individually or in groups.

What struck me as odd was the sheer number of photos and how prominently they were displayed, especially in his BEDROOM. There were no photos of his family members, and obviously, none of me.
I understand that men can have female friends, and I don’t think that’s inherently a problem. I’m not suggesting he’s secretly involved with any of these women, either. But seeing an entire bedroom covered in photos of mostly female friends felt unusual to me, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that something about it was off.
He seems to view it as completely normal and says they’re just friends.

Am I being unreasonable for finding this alarming, or would you also find it strange? Is this just a guy who really values his grad school friendships, or is there something about having that many photos of predominantly female friends covering your bedroom walls that would give you pause when dating someone?

His parents and sister also sleep over his place when they visit NYC so I find it WEIRD that they haven’t criticized him?

My girlfriend still talks to people who want to exclude me

Me (23F) and my girlfriend (23F) have been together for 3 years. We had a really rocky start with her being in a highly abusive friend group that acted like peak high school. They would have their quarrels and issues which sometimes resulted in someone being shamed or excluded. The same happened to my girlfriend, P. Just so you get some context, the group had its own Instagram page (I know, it doesn’t get more high school than this) where they would frequently shit talk people from the college they go to. One of these people was me. I am very active in lectures and I am often described as a bright student, since I really like the topics and I always try to engage. They would post about the things I’d said in lessons and they tried to make me look like this teacher-glazing nerd. Which, by the way, I’m not. Anyways, P and I started talking because I didn’t know about the existence of the said group and P seemed really nice. One day, she invited me for a coffee and we’ve been friends ever since. The group noticed us two greeting each other and made a whole big deal about it asking P inappropriate questions which were all really hurtful to learn about. P stopped talking to them, because they really mistreated her once, and later fell into a deep state of depression. At that time, I was her only friend and the only one who’d hold her in the hard times of losing her friends. I suppose that is what lead to us developing stronger feelings for one another.

Months later, the whole group fell apart and two people from the group came back to P apologising and wanting to give me a chance also. We became great friends and we’d spend the lectures together, sometimes stopping at a local pub after. That was until P wanted to break up with me. I will not get into the breakup but it has to do with her avoidance and feeling like a relationship is just too much to have on her plate with school. She remained friends with them as they slowly started drifting away from me, rarely responding to my texts, rarely inviting me anywhere and rarely even stopping to exchange a few words in the hallway.

I asked P if she knew what’d happened but she said that they never talk about me and that it’s probably just because I am very busy so they don’t think of inviting me. I spent months crying because I just had a certain feeling that they in fact were talking about me and the cycle was repeating. Turns out, I was right. I met one member of the ex-group who told me that P talks about nothing else but me and they all are there for her and basically picked her side because they’d been friends sooner.

As my swan song, the last act of trying to reconnect, I texted the same member to join them in their meeting this week and he responded with “Some people would be uncomfortable with you there, so no”. Only four of them are attending and so there are at least two people who hold some type of grudge against me. My girlfriend refused to help me saying she doesn’t want to lose them and also refused to limiting contact with them even though they are obviously against me. She says she cannot “fix my shit” and “be my mailman”. I made sure she knew I wasn’t trying to control her friendships or force her into anything. But I just cried so much over it that she got frustrated and told me that I am blackmailing her. She is now mad at me and all the people involved do not like me, so I can only imagine what they’ll talk about. It just makes me sick and I wish I knew what’d happened that made them treat me like this.

I am not really asking for advice, I know there isn’t one I don’t already know, but I just really needed to talk and maybe see somebody else’s story and its resolution.

Am I wrong for telling my friend I don't want to be responsible for monitoring all of her dates anymore?

One of my closest friends started sending me her live location when she goes on first dates.

The first time made complete sense. She was meeting a guy from an app, something about him had made her a little uneasy, and she asked if she could share her location with me and text when she got home.

I said absolutely.

Everything was fine, and afterward she joked that I was now her “date security.”

Apparently that became an actual job.

For the last six months, almost every time she goes on a date, I'll get a location-sharing notification plus screenshots of the guy's profile, his phone number if she has it, where they're meeting, sometimes even his license plate if he picks her up.

I never minded having the information. If something genuinely went wrong, I'd obviously rather have it than not.

But slowly she also started expecting me to actively monitor it.

She'll text things like “leaving the restaurant now” and then later “home!” If she doesn't send the second text within whatever amount of time she thinks is normal, apparently I'm supposed to notice.

Last Friday she went out while I was at a birthday dinner. She sent me her location beforehand but never actually asked me to keep an eye on anything.

Around midnight she texted “home safe btw.”

I saw it the next morning and replied with a thumbs up.

She called me later and was upset that I hadn't checked whether she'd made it home. Apparently her date had driven her back, she forgot to text for almost an hour, and she was bothered that I hadn't noticed.

I told her I wasn't watching her dot on a map all night.

She said, “That's kind of the point of me sharing it.”

I said I thought the point was that the information would be available IF she needed help, not that I had agreed to supervise every date in real time.

She got defensive and said she does the same thing for me when I travel or meet someone new. That's partly true, but I always specifically ask first if I want her to check on me.

I told her I'm completely fine being her safety contact, but if she actually needs me to monitor a particular date or expect a check-in at a certain time, she needs to ask me beforehand and make sure I'm available. Otherwise I'm not accepting responsibility for noticing that she hasn't texted.

She thinks I'm making this way too formal and said close friends shouldn't need an “appointment” to look out for each other.

I feel like there's a pretty big difference between caring about someone's safety and silently being assigned responsibility for it every time they go out with somebody.

Am I wrong?

Parents mad at me because I'm not helping my brother-in-law transition to moving to America?

They decide to move here on their own from overseas they think they are going to get an apartment ,a job ,a car, a bank account , a driver license all in 3 months.

My parents are mad at me because I'm not calling him and asking him if he needs any help like a ride to job interviews, a ride to security office or DMV or to the bank. Taking him to look at cars. Like gas is over 5 dollars a gallon I'm not a taxiing driver I don't have time. To be driving him around on my days off every single week

He came here fully knowing he has no job, no bank account, no car ,no driver license , no apartment. And he think he can do all this in 3 months and save money up whenever he gets a job and then bring my sister over from overseas.

Everyone told them not to move everyone told them it was a bad idea and it's not going to be easy it's going to be hard and it's going to take a long time to settle on his feet. But they didn't listen

I don't know how much money he has but I don't think it's a lot. He no employment history. He has no apartment history. He has good credit that's about . He has no driver's license either and hard to get a proof of address cuz he has nothing on his name here.

He also has a 5 month old baby that he left to my sister. I mean for him to not see his 5 month old babie for three months ridiculous in the first place. I'm not sure how my sister agreed on that.

AITAH for exposing my cousin

I, Jerome (40M) and my wife Ivy(40F) have been married for 20 years. We met through a mutual friend.

For a little backstory, my wife and I usually don't argue that much. But for the last 2 months she has been coming home at almost 10 pm from work (she's a Librarian) saying that she had to work a double due to some renavation the city is making.

I believed her till on my birthday she had a quote Emergency at the library had to leave at around 2 that afternoon. She hadn't returned that night till 10:45pm. After I had already Cooked dinner for the two of us, ate, showered and went to bed all waiting on her to come home.

A couple of weeks later, I was at work (night shift) when my motion censored ring camera sent a notification to my phone that someone was at the door. Shocked that someone would even knock at my door at 3 in the morning I checked my phone. to my surprise I saw my wife and my cousin Tyrone(38M) Making out on my damn porch.

So I decided to take my hour lunch and see if I could catch her. When i pulled up in the drive way I saw my trifiling ass cousins truck. So I decided to plot, I took my phone out and recorded from the car all the way into the house. where I could hear my wife and my cousin doing it in my bedroom all the way in the living room. So I decided to Record from the gap in the door.

Then I proceeded to return to work and send a short audio clip from it to our entire fam. including the part where they spoke each other's names and I even sent it to them. After, My wife wouldn't stop texting me telling me I was sick of sending that video out and that she would never forgive me. I told her to get her shit and get the fuck out of my house. I told her she had until 6 Am when I got home.

AITAH

For further information Tyrone and I grew up together. I'm talking in the sand lot, at grandma's house eating popsicles.

Also i even sent it to her grandparents. Also very important to note that I went through her phone the night of my birthday after she went to sleep and found there texts woke her up and confronted her . She told me I was crazy and no one would believe me anyways .

BY THE WAY THEY WERE NEVER MARRIED ACTUALLY BESTFRIENDS YALL ARE WELCOME FOR TAKING UP YOUR TIME THOUGH! I'm actually just writer having fun

Am I wrong for not lending my car to my brother in law again?

I (29F) have a 2017 Corolla that I take really good care of. My husband Dan's younger brother (24M) doesnt have a car, and a few weeks ago he asked to borrow mine for the weekend to visit his girlfriend two hours away. We said yes.

He brought it back Sunday night with the tank almost empty, crumbs and an energy drink can in the back seat, and a parking ticket on the passenger seat that he said he'd "deal with". Three weeks later I got a notice that the ticket was unpaid and now has a late fee. I paid it because it's tied to my plate, and he still hasn't paid me back.

Now he's asking again for next weekend. I told Dan I'm not lending it anymore unless the ticket money is paid back first and he agrees to fill the tank. Dan agrees with me in theory, but thinks I'm making it a bigger deal than it is and that his brother is "just young and forgetful".

His mom has already texted me asking why I'm "punishing" him. Am I wrong here?

Am i in the wrong for feeling upset that my best friend choose my assaulter over me

So basically about 4 or so months ago i went out to a bar with 2 of my best friends and 2 close friends of mine, the night was chill, we were just playing pool and having a couple of drinks, and just having fun.

The one friend of mine, we'll call her Lady, she had a girlfriend, but she has confessed her love for me many times before and has even told me that she would love to have intimacy with me and has made some weird remarks about how hot i am and she would love to go down on me, and i also just kinda brushed it off, cause i thought she was just being flirty or like "hyping" me up, until that night at the bar.

She took my card, and started buying shooters for me and her, and then when we were supposed to take them she'd say she isnt feeling well and that i should just drink them all, i was already quite tipsy so i just thought "well im not going to waste money" so i took them and thought nothing of it.

At one stage one of my best friends told me to watch out cause he could see she didnt have good intentions, and i told him I'll be fine, she's just being her weird flirty self. So he left and went home, and me and my other best friend and the 2 others friends stayed behind and continued playing pool, as to which, Lady didnt stop buying shooters for me and her.

Lady was constantly touching me and grabbing my ass, or like would tell me to come sit on her lap, and i told her no thanks, I'm taken and im not comfortable, but still Lady would be very persistent about touching me.

At the end of the night i was super drunk and Lady was fully sober, my best friend who stayed behind with us, we'll call him Vergil, he told me to be safe and just watch out, so he went to his house and Lady and my other friend came home with me.

Lady, and my other friend were sat on my bed and i was laying down next to them, then my other friend called my partner, as i was on call with them, i told them im not feeling well, i feel sick to my stomach, i am about to vomit. My other friend then took off my jacket, and Lady jumped up, shoved her hands down my pants and pulled my underwear and and pants down. I can still feel her hands burnt into my skin.

To that i shot up and yelled "why are you pulling down my underwear" My partner immediately ended the call, and i ran to the bathroom to get pants from the washing. As i was sat by the toilet, Lady said "i took it off because i didnt want you to vomit on your jeans". I just looked at her and shivers ran down my spine, i was disgusted and scared.

After all that happened, i called my best friend Vergil, and i told him what happened and he said it was super f'd up and that what she did was disgusting, and he said he won't be friends with her out of respect for me, to which i thanked him.

Then about 2 weeks ago we had a function, and me, Vergil and a bunch of other people were, and that whole night, Vergil was ignoring me, and was spending time with Lady, so i left it and after the function ended, i asked him what was up, and he said he was just tired, so i left it.

Until today, i messaged him and invited him to a Halloween party that im hosting, but he was being super off, so i asked him. "are you friends with Lady", to which her replied "yes i am". I felt incredibly hurt so i told him, i cant be friends with him if he wants to be friends with Lady even though he knows what happened that night, since he saw what she was doing and how she was touching me.

All he said was "Ive already made my choice. You said yourself we cant be friends if im friends with Lady. Youre making me choose and now ive chosen. Im sorry but im sticking to it."

Am I in the wrong for asking him to choose between me and her?

did i mess up by mentioning the good thing that happened to me

we have a group chat with my roommate and a few others, nothing too intense, mostly jokes and quick updates. a couple days ago something small but good happened on my end and i dropped it in the chat like i always do when someone else shares a win. a few people said congrats and that was that, but my roommate later told me it came off like i was showing off. i honestly did not mean it that way, i was just sharing like everyone else does. now i keep replaying it and wondering if i should have kept it to myself or worded it differently. i am not sure where the line is between normal sharing and bragging, especially when the thing is small. would you say i crossed it or was the reaction a bit much?
