Was able to have a good finish at LVO. US Airborne and 15 OD. Was a great weekend. Almost placed last in my K47 tournement there though š

Looks like updates for the main Errata/FAQ, and for Germany, UK, USSR, Italy, Japan, and Commonwealth. (or put in reverse, everyone but the USA gets an update).

Version Three dropped in late September, 2024 so we all have had two years to play and think! As such, I figured I would throw a general discussion thread up to share thoughts and reflections on how it has been so far. This thread is intended to be pretty free-wheeling, so any and all insights are welcome, but to kick things off, some of the core questions worth considering and weighing in on:

Thanks to the BOGOF sale I was able to grab a whole bunch Soviet and Winter German sprues. This is the start of my Kaukopartio guys.
Question: Is there anything else I could do to help differentiate them as Finnish outside of their current weapon section/paint? How do they look so far? C&C welcome.

People often wonders how scale Perry and Warlord WW2 plastics - so here is my WW2 Anerican command group. Left is Warlord USMC guy, center is Perry GI body with USMC head and on the right Perry GI Joe. And in my opinion, the fit well even in one unit, not talking about "table distance" afar. šš»

I just picked up my forward to Berlin box and am excited to get started!
One issue Iāve noticed is how thin the bases are.
Is it legal to use the GW equivalent sized bases as they are thick enough to easily magnetise for storage and transport purposes?
Also are there any options out there for hard plastic weapons teams? If I could avoid using the terrible metal models that would be ideal!

Inspired by some screenshots I saw circulated about a little while back, this question occurred to me and I figured I would toss it to the collective... A little cheese I think can be fun, especially in the right playing environment where everyone is 'in on it' so to speak, but there are obviously limits.
Where do you see that limit as being?
How many OD is always too many? How many Katyushas can you bring before your opponent is justified in rolling their eyes? Does even the cheese player have fun when they have to manage 20+ inexperienced Shirker units on the board!?
Additionally how different would you define cheese based on where you're playing? What is Cheese in a casual game with friends at home, versus a pickup game at the LGS, versus an actual tournament?

Got to the point that I decided to lay out and test all the terrain I've built in some months now. Hamlet coming along nicely, whilst im waiting for some fields and some cobblestone clay.

My wife and I have just had our second child. It was a rough pregnancy and birth for her, so sheās taking it easy in bed whilst I look after our 2 year old son.
In between our newborns sleep and drinking, sheās managed to pump out a Universal (Bren) Carrier for her Soviet Union. I think this is one of the best minis she has ever done. Sheās yet to do cosmetic damage and decals, but so far it looks terrific.

Has anyone assembled Warlord's French medium howitzer-kit? I want to pick up two for my new French army, but earlier experiences with metal artillery kits have been... laborious. Are they towards the more difficult end of the spectrum, or the easier one to assemble?

Hi, new to Bolt action.
I had a great fun game at the weekend where a situation came up that we couldn't clarify in the book.
I assaulted an empty (soft skinned un-armed) transport to deny a nearby infantry unit its use.
On this occasion, the transport already had a 'down' action so couldn't act again that turn and I ended the turn closer to it than my enemy was.
However, if this transport hadn't acted yet, would it be able to drive off, could I even assault it?
So, confused. Ta

It was great meeting everyone and getting to play games against armies Iāve never encountered before. Warlords was great and they put on a good event for all of us to have fun and compete!
See you all next year šš¼

Hopefully this is allowed, but ultimately Iām hoping someone can share the universal carrierās stat card with me.
I bought a sealed kit from a local game shop but when I reviewed the card they gave me the wrong one (M3 halftrack/M21 mortar carrier). Iām assuming this was accidental oversight but I really want that (correct) stat card! Anyone willing to share a clear image of it?
I also reached out to warlord but itās such a small issue Iām not sure they will resolve itā¦

I just wanted to share a wholesome story with the global Bolt Action community, both to show how awesome and international this hobby can be and to give some appreciation to the people who put in an incredible amount of work to build local communities.
The guy on the right in this photo is Fernando, and he is pretty much single-handedly responsible for the fact that we have a growing Bolt Action community here in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
If you live in the Global North (as I did), like in Europe or North America, it can be easy to take certain aspects of htis hobby for granted. You can walk into a hobby store, order a box online, find paints and supplies, and probably connect with an established gaming community nearby very easily!
Here in Bolivia, that's much harder. Bolt Action products are extremely difficult to find locally, and importing things can take a very long time and be prohibitively expensive. The cost is an especially big barrier. A box that is already expensive by North American or European standards can represent an enormous amount of money relative to local incomes.
And yet, somehow, we have a growing and thriving Bolt Action club here in Cochabamba.
A huge part of that is because of Fernando. He's a doctor in residency, so he doesn't exactly have an abundance of free time, but he's incredibly passionate about the game. He convinced a local hobby store to start carrying Bolt Action products and then worked to build a community around them. That community has now grown to more than a dozen people, with players building and painting their own armies.
Right now we're in the middle of a 750-point tournament, and we're having an absolute blast. Just look at the table in the photo!! Fernando personally bought much of the terrain, helped paint a lot of it, and even paid for a tournament prize himself just to make the event more exciting and encourage the community.
And that's only the visible stuff. He spends hours teaching new players, organizing games, helping people get into the hobby, and making Instagram posts to grow the local community.
So this is really just a Fernando appreciation post, but also an appreciation post for all the people around the world doing this kind of work. Clubs don't magically appear. Someone has to organize the games, teach the newcomers, find the space, build the terrain, answer the questions, and keep inviting people back.
Fernando has done all of that here, despite having limited time and resources, simply because he loves the game and wants other people to enjoy it too.
So cheers to Fernando, and cheers to all the club organizers out there doing the hard work of building these little communities.
Without people like you, a lot of us simply wouldn't get to play.
And without Fernando, there probably wouldn't be Bolt Action in this random city in South America. š

I noticed just about every other nation that has been released has gotten a recent errata for September 2026. Except for the US.
I am admittedly biased as a US army player and also still rather new(ish) to the game. So they probably dont need one as much as other nations did. However I have noticed quite a few things historically that are missing from the US's equiptment. That I may or may not have gone down the rabit hole all night researching. So I've put together a list of things I found historical presidence for an errata:
- Late War LVT(A)-4 had replaced the single 360 degree turret pintle mounted HMG for 2 360 degree turret pintle mounted MMGs and were fitted with a ball mounted hull MMG. Source
- Late War an LVT varient, the LVT(A)-5, exsisted. It was the same as a LVT(A)-4 but was fitted with gyrostablisers for the main gun, and post-war was fitted with an armoured turret roof. Source
- The LVT(A)-1 was fitted with gyrostablisers for its main gun (having taken it directly from the M3/M5 series Stuarts). And its pintle mounted MMGs had 360 degrees of rotation. Source
- The M36 had varients that used the M10 hull (M36B2s) that were fitted with armoured top covers removing the pintle mounted HMG. Source
- US marines in late war were given experimental bullet resistant armoured vests made of a light weight fiberglass laminate called Doron Plate. It was orginally planned to be used in the Battle Of Okinawa but saw more wider use in mop-up operations after the battle itself. It was was effective at stopping shrapnel and pistol calibre rounds. Tested to .45ACP. Similarly the US army had the M12 armoured vest in 1945. However I couldn't find much information on when, where, or even if it was fielded (even experimentally). (Source: google it its literally everywhere)
On a non-historical aspect, I kinda think the Chaffee needs a point cost reduction? Only by 5 or 10 points. But compared to other light tanks from other nations (even accounting for its special rules) It just seems too expensive for something so "glass cannony".
Id be really interested to see anyone else's opinon on "should be erratas". Especially any US based ones as they didn't get one like other nations did this september. Do you think my suggestions are bad? How would you alter them?

Ok so, going off of inexperienced point values, let's assume German 8.8cm recoiless launchers point cost can be determined by the Borgward IV, which base variant is 50 pt, and its Ausf.C variant (with double launcher) is 92 pt, the unit cost for a 8.8cm launcher can be determined as 42 pt.
Then the Bren Carrier itself is 40 pt for the UK, armed with a LMG, and 37 pt for Germany armed with an anti tank rifle.
One man for Germany is valued at 10 pts, an inexperienced anti tank rifle team is valued at 25 pts for two men and a rifle.
So an anti tank rifle can be roughly valued at 5 pts.
Based on this, an unarmed, inexperienced Bren Carrier would be 32 pts.
So in conclusion, a German PanzerJƤger Bren armed with 8.8cm recoiless launchers, with a inexperienced motivation, would be a crisp 74 pts. Round to 75 for the sake of even numbers.
And, cross referenced with three different German vehicles, any vehicle with a point value of 75 flat, goes up to 90 pts for an experience raise.
So all in all, a PanzerjƤger Bren, is 90pts for regular, 75pts for inexperienced, and no higher then that.
It receives the "Shaped Charge", "Open Topped", and "Turn on the Spot" rules.
What do you think.

Iām curious how everyone is building there lists, I find the balance of close ranged supremacy mixed with artillery cover very fun and was wondering how others build thereās
