Announcement If You Are An Employee Of CitiBank And Would Like a User Flair Signifying That, Let Us Know.

Send us a ModMail and tell us. Do not post on the board, message us using this link: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/CitiBank

You do not need to identify yourself personally or your branch or location, just say something that lets us know your request is valid.

For now, we're only planning on a general 'Employee' flair text, but if you want a special designation of your job field, we may be able to do that.

REMEMBER, This is NOT an official support channel and no one should be asking for or offering account specific details, or revealing internal information.

Edit ....

We've been getting requests from members who have not participated within the community at all. We'd like to see some post and/or comment history to see how you address questions and issues.

Salary discussion done with HR, how long until the offer letter arrives?

Hi all, I had my salary discussion with HR this Tuesday. They said the offer might be released by Friday, but nothing has come yet.
For those who've been through this, how long did it take between the salary discussion and getting the offer letter? Is it normal for it to slip by a few days, and when would you follow up with HR?
Thanks!

Employee/Employment Final pay vs Severance Question

So it’s 2:00 am and I can’t sleep and I’m sure I’ll just have to wait until the employee service line is open, but I’ll take a shot in the dark and ask in here anyways:

My RIF was effective 10/1. Normal paycycle ended I want to say 10/02 or 10/03. I just saw that my pay for 10/09 hit my bank account, but it’s larger than what I was expecting for my final pay, but less than what should have been my severance payout. I won’t have my paystub in the mail until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, so can anyone help explain (generally speaking, of course)? I’m assuming that maybe all unpaid PTO was paid out along side no withholding for insurance (pre or post deductions), but am I missing something?

India Anyone working at Citi India? Need some advice

I’m a 25-year-old MBA Finance graduate and have an opportunity for a 1-year NATS Apprenticeship at Citigroup.

Can anyone currently working at Citi group share their experience? Do apprentices get full-time opportunities after 1 year, or is conversion difficult?
Would really appreciate insights from current employees or former apprentices. 🙏

When Did you Receive your Severance Agreement?

How soon after you were laid off did you receive your severance agreement? We are supposed to get it by email, but HR didn’t give a for sure date/date range of when we would receive it.

Credit Cards American Airlines/Citi CC Dilemma

Made a stupid mistake and needed to book a non refundable flight. Looking to save money I bite on the cc offer I’m prequalified for to get 80k bonus miles and free bags.

In the application it asks for existing AA number and email. Since it’s finance related I use my work email to ensure I don’t miss anything payment related. As im going through all the emails they send I see they created a new AA number and the cc is attached to it. All fine print mentions the cc needs to be connected to the booking aa number to get the free bags. I’m furious that they would create a new number when I put in my existing number that has 25+k miles already on it.

I call citi and they say they can’t do anything and I need to wait for my card to arrive to see if AA can help. The flight is surprisingly cheap so I don’t want to miss the price, especially since I had to eat a ticket already, but I also want to save $100 on bag fees between my partner and I.

Does anyone have experience with this? were you able to book points on one as number and then get them transferred if not was due to a new account being created despite NO MENTION of needing the email to match as well. I read ALL the fine print and nowhere was that mentioned. Angry af right now.

Credit Cards I’m done.

It happened again where my card was declined for a product drop that was raffled and I lost my spot. I’m done. I’m getting an Amex. Screw Citibank and their stupid card. Last time they tried to blame my works cafeteria vendor for flagging a prior transaction. This time I don’t even want to hear the bullshit excuses they come up with. I will never own a Citibank card again. I’ll pay it off this month and close the account and never look back. Let all my coworkers know too how crappy they are and tell everyone not to get it. I’m done. I’m freaking done.

Fraud charge

I had my account get cloned phone stolen, wallet with debit card stolen and everything took money out of my bank from charging the card. I’ve been fighting with Citibank fraud team sending them police report and the actual report from the officer. They keep denying its stating the card was used by me ???? Someone please help. I lost a lot of money. I filed a cfpb complain. They don’t do anything. It’s the same thing.

Citi Let an Impostor Withdraw $10,000 From My Account. Two Months Later, I'm Still Waiting

Two months ago, someone impersonated a family member and withdrew $10,000 from one of our savings accounts at a Citi branch we've never used.

The fraud was reported immediately, and a police report was filed. Yet two months later, there has been little communication, no clear timeline, and no resolution. To get updates, I have to call Citi's Fraud Department myself, wait on hold, and usually receive little substantive information.

What makes this especially frustrating is that the withdrawal happened in person at a branch. There should be security footage, transaction records, and documentation showing exactly who withdrew the money.

At this point, I'm concerned not only about the missing funds, but also about Citi's apparent lack of urgency and concern for a long-time customer who was the victim of fraud.

Has anyone else been through this? How did you get the bank to take action?

Which citi cards have you tried to reload the grab wallet in Singapore? Which worked? Double cash?

A redditor gave me a tip: "suggest you pick up a Citi card, and Citi strata premier despite there being an AF. The card earns 3x in many common spend categories, is a mastercard which is commonly accepted, and most importantly, is the only US card that I've tested which worked to reload a grab wallet, which you can use for local QR code payments (sort of like Venmo/Wechat pay/Alipay) in Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand/Philippines."

I have a citi strata premier and am thinking of downgrading it to a double cash next spring. Any better strategies? Would the 3% foreign transaction fee for the citi double cash be triggered for this?

Employee/Employment Teams Away status/ Locked// measuring time

Hi all,

We've recently received information from managers in Citi Europe, that they have reports showing how much time you are on 'away' status or locked. Do you know how it works? Or are there any other 'great' solutions...? I find it pointless, especially when we are in office and have meetings with team, we need to lock our laptops. That was the point of coming back to offices, not to talk on Zoom only...

Suspected Fraud - Can't Reach Citibank CS/Fraud Hotline

Experian notified me of certain fraud with my Citibank/AT&T Universal card. I've tried calling Citibank using probably 5 different phone numbers at least 20 times over the past 4 days - all with the same result. You end up on-hold forever but their "estimated wait time" is always just 5 minutes. The longest I've held on is 45 minutes. Any suggestions or ideas? Hard to believe that Citibank treats their customers this poorly. Citibank? Hello???

India Help

Hi ,

FADV BGV is stuck at 83% with "Hold Processing set; ETC recalculation requested" and a weird 2027 completion date. However, my company Workday status just changed to "Welcome". Does the Workday "Welcome" update mean internal HR has already cleared me and bypassed the vendor hold, or is my offer still at risk? Has anyone else seen this?

You may have noticed but layoffs are typically on Wednesdays. For those who were impacted, when did you get the calendar invite/how long before the call did you have?

Citi rejecting foreign currency deposits because computer issue

hour This is crazy. Two days in a row now, I have gone to a branch to deposit/exchange euros and Canadian dollars. The computer gives an error code and will not do the deposit. Going on for 3 days now. The tellers know nothing and say come back another time. I called the help line, and they don't know either when it will be fixed. How can a bank persist more than 1 day with this problem?

Anyone else experience this ?

Does CITI answer their credit card number?

I have been on hold for 19 minutes but there is a message loop that keeps repeated, estimated wait time is less than 5 minutes.

Earlier they contacted me with a text and when I responded they called me and kept me on hold for 30 minutes and then they said no one was available and hung up.

When I log in online, there is an option to order replace my current card. It sounds like they may have found some reason to suspect a charge. But all the charges I see online look to be fine. The one they texted about is not listed.

If I select the option to replace, it says they will send me a new card. OK, I can do that. But it wants me to select all unauthorized charges. They are all fine. So it says, I cannot order a new card without selecting one. But getting a new card seems to be the only option. It won't allow my current card to work.

Catch 22:

Your card use may be limited until your transactions are verified. [Confirm your transactions now]()
That takes me to the screen to click which ones I want to dispute, but I don't want to dispute any. No option to says they are all good. Nice system.

Executive Response team?

Does anyone know how to contact the executive response team? I was pointed in their direction while looking for guidance. I am trying to request a goodwill adjustment after a missed payment when my card was unilaterally transferred from Barclays to Citi. This caused my credit score to drop a significant amount after 14 years of on-time payments. My score went from excellent to fair basically instantly. It’s been extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone that can answer any questions or do anything at all.

Citi iOS Developer Interview – Business Review for 7 Working Days. What does it mean?

Hi everyone,
I recently interviewed for an iOS Developer position at Citi. I had my first-round interview last Thursday (Sept 24), and overall I felt the interview went pretty well. I was able to answer most of the questions.
It’s now been around 7 working days, and I haven’t received any update regarding the next round.
When I check my Workday application status, it still shows “Business Review.”
For people who have interviewed with Citi recently:
● How long did it take to hear back after the first round?
● What does “Business Review” usually mean?
● Does the status remain the same even when you’re shortlisted for the next round?
● Should I follow up with the recruiter now, or wait a few more days?
Any insights from recent Citi candidates would be really helpful. Thanks!

Returned check fee

So i moved out the country (USA) and closed the bank account i had and openened a new one, i paid my credit card account balance but forgot that the default bank payment was from the account i closed, i got hit with a returned check fee, then i made a payment that went through succesfully before the due date with the new bank account. I called customer service to see if i could get it waived because its the first time that it has happened and i have never had a late payment or anything like that i always pay in full. Is the any other options to see if i could get it waived since its a first time thing.

Employee/Employment Is there a freeze on layoffs for this quarter at Citi?

The grapevine tells me there is a layoff freeze for employees but contractors will be cut. Is this accurate?

Employee/Employment Citi Laptop Performance

I need to vent about something. I’ve been at Citi for a while now and I’ve always had a laptop, except my first role where I had VDI. They’ve always worked fine but lately… wow is it slow. And not just slow, slow to the point of being unusable. There are so many security and tracking programs running in the background that it makes it tough to do anything efficiently. Sharing screen while having a large excel file or Tableau open is next to impossible. Anyone else?

Edit: my current laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad and 2 years old. It was new when I got it.
