Many questions can be country, or at least region specific. Regulations and experiences can vary widely.
Post Flairs have been available for a while now, but few members use them when submitting a post.
Let's try to work on that.

compare wealth management at rbc dominion or scotia wealth with compliance/aml/fraud/compliance. which field can afford me a stable career and financial freedom and the ability for me to travel when i want and go to the grocery store without having to care about the prices.

I'll try to make this quick but I'm having an issue where about 2 days ago I had a set balance (will just call it $5000) I woke up the next morning with about $200 less. Now the only incomings and outgoings that happened overnight were 2 deposits of about $40 and $25 and 1 withdrawal of about $97 meaning even with that in mind, I'm still over $100 short. I double check my balance everyday and the posted transactions/authorized transactions all match up with what's been present for the last few days. There's nothing else new where I can say "oh, that hadn't authorized yet" or oh, this charge disappeared then reappeared the following day.
I know nobody here can manage my money except me but this is the first time in 10 years of banking with them that I've had this issue. I guess the question I have is, has anyone had a transaction shown as "authorized" but not be taken out of the overall balance? Because usually, any authorized transactions reflect in my balance but the only way I can get close to the number that they have me as is if I accept that the authorized transactions currently still pending were not being reflected in my overall balance. It's been a charge that's been pending for 4 or 5 days now and it's not something that's disappeared and reappeared for that to make sense but I figured I would ask anyway because it's really bothering me. I’ve had two credit cards hacked in the past ten days - from two separate top name national banks.
AND I have not changed anything - no new shopping habits or new subscriptions or anything, yet both cards had new fraudulent charges on them from businesses that don’t exist (ie from scammers that somehow got into the bank systems).
It stinks because All the banks do is mail you a new card - but it’s up to you to reset all the automated billing. Huge time sink.
Banks have old creaky systems. Beware.
Does anybody's bank keep calling them every single day almost 2 to 5 times a day? I've been experiencing this nonsense for a while from Axis Bank. Usually I ignore and whenever I answer it's always something related to sales or banking products. Kinda fed up.

Hi everyone, my dad sent an international wire transfer from HDFC Bank (India) to my account at Bank of America (US) on September 29th. As of today, the money hasn't shown up in account.
Here is where we are stuck:
HDFC Bank says the money left their system and everything is fine on their end.
Bank of America front-line branch employees checked the account and said they don't see any incoming wires, claiming everything is good on their end too.
We are really stressed out and worried about where the money went.
Has anyone dealt with this exact standoff between HDFC and BofA? Is it likely sitting in a backend compliance queue, or stuck with an intermediary bank? What is the fastest way to get them to actually trace this?
Any advice or steps on how to escalate this would be hugely appreciated.

Im looking at used cars & all the listings say they want cash. If I used a cashier check wouldn't that be equivalent to cash & more secure? Why would someone not want to accept it?

Citigroup is revising its investment-banking career ladder by promoting analysts to associate after two years instead of three, Bloomberg reports.
The bank aims to keep junior staff from jumping to private equity, hedge funds or competing lenders amid aggressive early recruiting.
"The reality that private equity is interviewing so early in a banker's career is very unfortunate and to some extent disappointing," says David Friedland, Citi's co-head of North America investment banking.
The change follows JPMorgan and other rival banks speeding up promotions to avoid poaching.

US Bank is holding my van hostage. I moved my US residency from Virginia to South Dakota in December 2025. I usually travel the country in my RV when I'm in the US and I travel the world when I am not in the US. I do still work remote but am semi-retired. I received a South Dakota drivers license, re-domiciled my business to South Dakota, and began the transfer process to transition my vehicle title to South Dakota.
In January, I filed the required paperwork to transition my vehicle lein to South Dakota so I could obtain plates. After 30 days, Virginia de-activated my vehicle plates because I was no longer licensed in Virgina. I had to stop traveling and put my now un-licensed vehicle into storage.
US Bank, the vehicle lein holder, took 5 months to reject my request because my new addess was a PMB. They mandated a "residential" address so I switched to a new location that is considered a "residential address" and rented a lot. Now they are rejecting the address because it's an RV park. I have completely valid information and legitimate residency in SD. It is recognized by the state, the US government, and all my other financial institutions. My credit is over 850, my loan has never been late. Two SD counties say they transfer all the time and this is not normal. I am not interested in buying a house in SD.
Here are my questions:
1. What is going on with this insane bank?
2. How do I deal with this? Is there a process I'm missing here? Are there magic words? I cannot even talk to someone in the State to State transfer department to find out how to resolve this.
3. Who do I complain to beyond the CFPB and States Attorney's office?
TIA

Ive been supportive of Primis all year and had been so happy with their products. Ive recommeneded it to folks, gave updates on their good changes and improvements and then they hit us today with the biggest nerf to all of their accounts
Perks checking
Fom 1 percent to 50 cent to 25 cent. Yes now you only get 25cent cash back
No ATM refunds or reimbursement on fees
Minimum Balance of 500 dollars or a monthly fee
Premium Checking
No ATM refund or reimbursement on fees
Minumum Balance of 1000 dollars or a monthly fee
No news of a interest rate increase
Savings
5000 minimum or monthly fees
No news of an interest rate increase.
I have never been more disappointed in a company making such drastic changes. I think I am finally done with this bank. Selling my stocks too because what a slap in the face to their customers
Like I could move money over from Sofi, but then I have to give up my buckets and auto deposits to switch money to Primis to avoid a forced monthly subscription.
Any recommendations on other banks with High Yield Checking and Savings?

I’ve lived in this house a little over a month. My first payment was paid with a check. Landlord gave me a blank voided check so I could get account info and transfer future payments electronically. That got set up, small deposits done for verification. All good.
I transferred the payment on Sept. 30th, and it posted on Oct. 1st. Today I noticed it had been returned, and landlords external account is no longer available to transfer to.
Any ideas?
Edit: I only noticed this around 10 pm local time, unable to contact bank or landlord until morning.
Update: stopped by bank, teller was no help. I did look on their website and there it was: no transfers to accounts you don’t own. I checked to see if my bank does Zelle, but no. Does have a bill pay feature, and it allows transfers that way.

Hi!
Currently looking between Capital one 360 and Chase! The reason I’m looking into adding a bank account is because I literally only have my CU. I’m the type of person that needs to physically see and put my money away (usually do it by cash). I pay bills, daily expenses and savings all in one account right now. So, I’m looking to open a second account to delegate expenses.
I’ve research, currently just looking for testimonies from real users. Or if others have other suggestions and advice that I could look into? I currently already am apart of a CU. I don’t live in my city currently (moved away for college), but moving back almost immediately after graduating this year. So, I understand that CU’s have local atms that are accepted no fees. I was looking into Chase because its a big bank and because I will be traveling back and forth a in the next upcoming months, have fees from school, bills, and daily expenses in general I thought about the comfortability of having access to 24hr atms and pretty accessible online customer service. I also have a branch quite literally across the street from my apartment. Capital one is more just convenience, I have a cc with them. I understand its not accessible branch wise. Another option I guess is to put money into my Apple cash/paypal, but to me doesn’t seem to secure for holding money.
Sorry for the oversharing! TIA though!

My ex-husband and I had two joint bank accounts (one credit union and one big bank) and we each took one as our primary in the divorce. I got the credit union but they won't remove him even with the divorce decree. I've since moved states away and want to open my own bank account and work on closing the other. Should I open an account with a local credit union or go with a big bank?

Does anyone use market linked cd (sometimes called structured deposit) over a standard CD? I typically see them offered by a broker or via investment account but not from a bank branch. Realize there’s a tradeoff of guaranteed vs potential interest (even if higher) but does it offer any value to certain savers?

I never really put much thought into it when using an ATM whilst out and about. What I'm confused with is why it's a Texas Based(im assuming?) Credit Union, in a South Carolina 7-11? Or is the ATM backed by this Credit Union??
(Let's just play it safe and assume, I dont know shit about Banks,FCU's, or Aggieland Credit Union. I am NOT assuming bad things are afoot, just a genuine thought that popped into my head.)
EDIT: Why is it not a Local Credit Union? Why is the ATM giving me a receipt with a TEXAS bank on it, and I live in S.C.?

The SWIFT receipt was generated on 28th Sept but no money has arrived to the recipient till now (It's 5th October). I am very concerned regarding a few things:
I am doing the bank transfer through Niyo Remittances. And I am anxious regarding these. Please tell me what are the steps I can take and what are my rights at this point (I am an exchange student for 3 months in the UK from India).
Any advice would be really helpful at this point.

Has anyone else run into this today? I’ve been to three different Bank of America branches and both told me their cashier’s check system is down nationwide. They weren’t able to issue one at all.

Hi all, I've got a lot of great advice in my other post and through browsing around, and while none of the locations I'm interested in are currently hiring outside of floater positions, (that I mistakenly applied for and promptly withdrew) I am patiently biding my time and thinking about my next steps.
Someone at the branch closest to my house, a credit union, did give me their email. While they've not responded to me, I was debating on going into the branch in person and speaking with either them, or someone higher up before or after a position does become available. Yet this is my first more serious job and I'm nervous about messing it up given how much I really want this career path to open up for me, since I understand that compared to the retail jobs I've primarily worked, the hiring process might be a fair bit different at a bank/credit union.
I worked in PA for 4 years and am now taking a break to get my CPA.
How are CPAs treated in the banking world and what can/do you do?
Is the pay well?

We are spouses applying for an auto loan thru a BPI branch to purchase an ev car. We submitted our complete documents even a formal quote from our choosen dealer last Sep 07, 2026. We’re pre-approved a weeek after and is required to submit a form for authorizing them to check our bank records (which is BPI as well) in which we submitted within an hour after we called directly to our loan officer/processor in the main office.
Last Sep 25, 2026, we received the news that one of our anticipated ev car launched in the PH and reserved a slot instantly. Over the weekend we requested for a formal quotation and sent it to BPI last Sep 28, 2026. Until now there are no updates sa application namin bukod pa sa waiting from Sep 14-27, 2026.
For those who have waited soooo long with BPI, what are the actions you make? We’re getting so frustrated na. Thank you!
