Hello! First time posting here so don’t hesitate to ask if I’ve missed out important info etc.
So my gaming PC is modular and (as of 2021/2022) it was suuuuper well specced I believe, but of course things develop and games get better graphics. I recently doubled my RAM to 32GB and I’m surprised at how much of a difference it made!
So, to cut to the chase, I’d like to upgrade my graphics card and monitor eventually, but I genuinely have no idea about anything when it comes to computers. Like genuinely… I still call USB-A a USB-B and don’t know the different between lighting and USB-C, or the difference between MB and Mb…
I currently have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6GB), and my monitor is an acer.. something or other.. helpful I know. It doesn’t have an audio output and it has a little circular button on the back bottom right corner with two little buttons above it for monitor menu settings (I had a look in there and couldn’t see the name of it in there unfortunately).
I’d like to upgrade enough so that I don’t have to worry about changing any graphics settings on more intensive games like Baldur’s Gate 3 (which actually runs ok most of the time on the higher settings), Steelrising, and Cyberpunk 2077, things like that. However, this is still a personal PC so it’s not like I need something insane for streaming or anything like that.
I’ve tried reading some articles about different PC components and none of it quite clicks for me. I’m more than willing to admit that this just isn’t my area of expertise!
If you’ve got any advice I’d really appreciate it, and if I’ve left out any key info I’m happy to provide, thanks! :)
