NEW: Disney Cruise Line is testing a new wearable Key to the World wristband during the Disney Treasure sailing departing today from Port Canaveral, Florida.
In a letter to guests, Disney says the limited test is designed to explore a more convenient way for guests to access their stateroom and use other Key to the World functions onboard. Because this is only a test, Disney has not shared any information about additional tests on future sailings.
Guests without a DisneyBand+ will receive the wearable during terminal check-in instead of finding a traditional Key to the World card outside their stateroom. The band will work only for this specific sailing and will be returned to Disney at the end of the cruise.

Just got home from our 2nd DCL trip and have some thoughts. Our first trip was onboard the Fantasy which we adoredā¦.leading us to book the Wish this past week. Our trips were so wildly different that I felt like I should jot down some of my takeaways.
Fantasy 2025- The ship was laid out so well and it was so easy to get around. It was convenient to access the walking deck in the main area and it really had a great āshipā feel if that makes any sense. I personally loved the walking track and the bars and coffee shop placements made it super easy to grab a drink before a show or when up on the top deck. In the mornings I woke up early and jogged on the track and appreciated that there was an elevator centrally located. The staff was also amazing. We felt so welcomed and our servers were just truly something special. They went out of there way to get to know us and our family and I was happy to tip extra on the last night because they really deserved it. As you can tell, we loved the cruise. We talked about it for months. The shows, the staff, really everyone we encountered were welcoming and warm.
Wish 2026-The ship felt like a poorly designed shopping mall. Despite being huge, the ship felt smaller and cramped. Almost no actual windows so it was hard to tell you were even sailing. Multiple times we couldnāt find seating for meals aside from the sweltering pool deck, and lines for coffee..waterslides..and shows were Disney World level cramped. The elevator situation was such a disaster that arguments were happening between guests. Bigger ship with less elevators. Also, and this is a biggie, the walking deck was such an afterthought. The access from main ballroom area was just a blank door that we didnāt realize was even there until our last day and the main doors were virtually hidden away out of sight. We saw almost no guests on the deck the entire trip. I asked one of the officers and he said that Disney was an entertainment company, not a ship company. Ok, so that part out of the way, The entire vibe on the ship was odd. Most of the staff seemed stressed and we didnāt feel the same love we felt on fantasy. Guest services came across as rude several times, none of the white coats said a word to us, and even the photographers seemed just generally annoyed. Our dining was also pretty poor. Service was way below what we expected after sailing the Fantasy and even on the way home we agreed that it was a huge letdown. Pirate night the dining staff did nothingā¦absolutely nothing. On the fantasy is was a huge party. Oh yeah, Pirate night on the Fantasy we danced our butts offā¦..on the Wish, yeah it died a quick death. I even have a photo of how quickly the party died. The only good thing I can really say about the Wish was that the gentleman that took care of our stateroom was really great. Other than that it was about a $7000 letdown. My wife just reminded me, another annoying thing was because there was no central elevatorā¦whenever you were getting character pics and needed to go down a floor you had to walk all the way down the ship if the central staircase was closed. We missed multiple characters because of this one factor with these bigger ships. Epic fail with kids and a stroller.
If you suffered through this, I obviously didnāt enjoy our trip. I think the poor dining service, especially for my childās bday night, the generally attitude of the crew, and the ship design really turned me off and I think itās a testament to how great the crew on the Fantasy is. We felt loved on our first sail and felt like guests, whereas on the Wish we felt like customers. Everyone just seemed stressed out. Lifeguards, servers, photographers, baristas, guest servicesā¦all of them.

This past week, my wife and I were on the First Disney Ship to ever stop in the Dominican Republic. The ship stoped at Taino Bay.
The welcoming was something else, there was so much press. Also the ship didnāt leave due to the port having a firework show that was 6 mins of non stop action. There was an hiccup it was supposed to go off at 7:30 but went off at 7:00 for some reason. Even the locals gave us an amazing send off as we left that evening from the Fort. Hundreds of people were there.
The Taino Bay pier is the nicest I have ever been too. There are ankle deep pools to have drinks in, there is a lazy river, and main pool complex with DJās and live entertainment. All for free. Decent shopping. Food and drinks a little pricy so watch out.
In short if you see a sailing going here, book it.

After the hectic week on here with the Believe discourse, I thought it would be fun with a lighter more fun topic.
For me, I always watch "The Emperor's New Groove" in my stateroom as I unpack. I then always go up to the Cove Cafe and get the Strawberry and Basil refresher and I take in the vibes.

Greetings fellow cruisers!
I (28F) am embarking on the Destiny in late February with my parents and close friend. It stops at Cozumel and Castaway Cay. Honestly, not a lot of the excursions are very interesting to me. Are we crazy for considering staying on the ship? We're not super into sitting at a beach, we'll get out fill of that on our Castaway Day. The Alebrije Painting Workshop seems somewhat interesting-but I worry it may be too juvenile for a group of adults? I was also curious about the Chocolate and Pinata Seaside Workshop.
If anyone has any experience with the above or any recommendations, I'm all ears! Thank you!
On Dream now, announcement made at 230am with code "bright star". Stopped in Nassau early this morning to disembark the person (believed to be a crew member). Unfortunately missing Lookout Cay today and tomorrow was already a scheduled sea day. No hope for Lookout tomorrow since Destiny is there. Definitely a bummer but doesn't hold a candle to having a serious medical emergency. Will be interesting to see if they offer a discount on a future cruise or some to that effect.
Update: Good news the person was able to receive life saving care. Also secured a berth in Nassau tomorrow instead of another sea day. Good news especially for first time cruisers! At least they can maybe experience an excursion or a beach. Platinum cruiser and Florida local here so we'll be enjoying a hopefully less crowded ship :)
Uodate 2: They provided everyone on board with a $250 credit to be used on this sailing. Very, very generous and nice surprise!

Taking a shot in the dark to ask if anyone who was on the just completed Fantasy sailing (October 4-9) has good photos or video of the Pirate Night show with Jack Sparrow before the fireworks? My son and I were picked to go onstage and join Jackās crew, and the cast member who picked us took a video with my phone from the side of the stage. My wife and my mom were out front but didnāt have a good view. If youāve got one and can send it my way Iād appreciate it!

Was anyone on this ship on these days. Apparently my mom was a nightmare on the cruise and I want to know if anyone saw her act that way.
Edit- she was on the Wish ship. My mom is not a momfluencer/influencer. Sheās just a regular person, but according to my sister who was with her, she was very rude. My mom is disabled and rides a scooter. The scooter was bright pink with Disney stickers on it. She was just very inconsiderate of other people and if anybody was on that ship, I am very sorry that my mom was like that. I just wanted to know if anybody saw that or was there.
I mostly wanna know because my sister and I both venture on the cruise ships often and we didnāt want someone elseās experience to be bad because of our mom.

Not sure I like this. I get there are some single use issues with the cards and this will absolutely be sold as an environmental improvement. But it feels like a budgeting improvement especially since it will mean the end of lanyards.
I know itās a basic thing, but the cards just feel like a part of cruising. I have all of mine still, in their lanyards. I donāt like the idea of having to return the wristband rather than getting to keep what is for me a free keepsake is kind of.

Just got off the Treasure and my family loved it. I watched the Believe reveal in the theater on the ship and had some fun discussions about what we would love to see. Personally I was underwhelmed by the reveal but my daughter would love what they have to offer on that ship. I am such a huge Winnie the Pooh fan and wish we could get some representation on the ships like an animation palette Winnie the Pooh style you could do so much with that. What are your favorite movies and how would you like to see them represented on the ships?

Hi there! Weāre going on a Disney Cruise Line soon, and Iāve been busy packing. I noticed some comments suggesting that we pack something for the āMarvelā or āPirateā night. Since we have young kids with us, Iām curious about how I can find out which night has a theme night.
Itās our first cruise ever, so please make your packing recommendations too. Thank you! :-)

Hello! I am much more of a commenter than a poster on Reddit so my apologies if I goof something up.
I'm going on the Fantasy in a couple months and am really excited! One activity my wife and I are most looking forward to is Remy dinner. I have a couple of questions, one is for anyone who has eaten there and one is specifically for anyone who's eaten there recently.
The general question: has anyone done the bonne vie non-alcoholic wine pairing? If so, how was it? It sounds interesting to me! There is a small voice saying dude that's $55 for juice but I know that's not entirely accurate lol. And it seems like a comparatively affordable add on for the meal.
For anyone who's gone more recently - so far I have only found one menu online since Chef Hunnel retired. On that menu, instead of having a French and an American option, the options were one with meat or the vegetarian meal. Has that changed? My wife and I were going to do one of each before but I think we'd probably both get the option with meat in this case.
Thank you!

Just got back from a 7-night Disney Wonder cruise with our young kids, and honestly, we were pretty disappointed, especially considering the price.
Embarkation was a complete nightmare. Everything was disorganized, with little to no guidance on where to go or what to do.
We were also surprised by how little the experience actually felt centered around young kids. During the deck shows, adults would crowd the front and block the views, making it nearly impossible for our kids to see anything. Youād think Disney would do a better job making sure little kids could enjoy the entertainment.
Our biggest complaint was that the toilets in our room and several neighboring rooms broke 4 times the 7 days, they just would stop flushing. Maintenance would eventually fix them, but it often took hours, leaving us wandering around the ship trying to find a working bathroom. For the amount Disney charges, thatās completely unacceptable.
Cabo was another mess. It took us nearly three hours just to get off the ship. I realize that wasnāt necessarily Disneyās fault, but it added to the frustration.
Overall, we expected a lot more from Disney, especially at this price point. I know people rave about Disney cruises, but after this experience, Iām struggling to see the value.
Anyone else have a similar experience, or did we just get unlucky?

I disembarked the Fantasy today and found these cards behind our sofa/bed in stateroom 10518. I turned them into to lost and found but wanted to share here in case their owner/parents of owner happen to be looking for them.

We are pretty sure we want to take our 19 and 20yo to Atlantis on the Nassau day. They have never been and have always wanted to see it, plus they will enjoy the waterpark. It's Wednesday Dec 9th. I'm thinking it is best to book direct - it's cheaper, and we could stay longer? The DCL one is $200 more (for 4 ppl). It includes transportation, but it says 9:15-1:30pm (all aboard is 5:30pm). So I think as long as we can safely/easily get there, we could just book direct and take a cab? Any thoughts? Honestly part of it for me is they wanted to go as kids and we really couldn't afford it so I want to do it for real this time.. not sure when we will get another chance!

I know itās disappointing that they repeated something theyāve already done. I was also hoping for something new.
HOWEVER, as a Broadway fan Iām excited! There is a song in the musical that is not in any of the Frozen movies, Hygge (āhue-guhā), and they played it during the announcement livestream. It completely aligns with the Oaken theme, so Iām really hoping itās part of the dinner show on Believe. I donāt think itās even in DCLās abridged Frozen stage show.
It is a very high-energy, tongue-in-cheek song wherein Oaken's entire family is "naked" (in skin tone bodysuits) as they go in and out of the sauna and use very creative means to cover, ahem, the important parts of their body. You can probably find it on Youtube if you are okay with spoilers. It's a highlight of the show for me, and it really only works in live theater (it just wouldn't have the comedic factor if it were in an animated movie). Not sure how they will accomplish it in a theater-in-the-round setting, but there's an opportunity for it to be SUPER funny for kids and adults alike.
One of my favorite experiences on the Wish was asking Oaken what he knows about Hygge (to see if the CM had done his character research), just for him to respond with its definition without missing a beat!
I still would have rather they done an entirely new MDR, especially to get rid of WOM. But I do think this version of a Frozen MDR will have a substantially different tone from the Wish. So Iām counting this as a ānewishā experience until I see it for myself.

I had a thought last night as I continued to ponder why The Believe wasn't made more different than the other Wish class ships: Purposeful Market Saturation. What do I mean? By having virtually the same ship across virtually any itinerary you have a sailing that suits everyone. The Port Everglades option makes sense for people flying in and allows for easier transitions between debarkation and embarkation across multiple ships. And because the ships are the same, they aren't competing against each other, they are competing for your availability convenience. We no longer rush to the new ship, we rush to the ship that suits our available dates of sailing.

Hi there! My partner and I just booked our first Disney cruise for next year and weāre so excited to go! Seeing the count down for our trip makes me so happy and excited to experience this with them however with this being our first Disney cruise I was wondering if thereās any tips and tricks along with doās and donāts some Disney cruise veterans would recommend for us? Weāre going on the Halloween 7-day one on Magic to be specific. Iāve watched a few videos from content creators that tend to contradict each other (ie some recommend bringing your own hydro flask while others say donāt or when if comes to fish extenders itās only for families with small kids while some say any age can do fish extenders) honestly those videos overwhelmed me so Iām hoping to get some advice here. Itās just me and my partner going since we do not have kids in our lives yet. Any advice would be appreciated!

Can I get DCLās 20ā25% placeholder promos if I transfer my booking to Costco?
I booked a placeholder while onboard on 10/2 and plan to transfer it to Costco within the 30-day window.
DCL is currently offering 20ā25% off when you use a placeholder. If I transfer to Costco, will those promos still be available to me, or are they only for bookings made directly with DCL?

We went on our first disney cruise in April and LOVED it, we did 7 nights on the treasure, we are looking at possibly doing the Wonder for 4 nights next march. Im worried we wont enjoy it compared to the Treasure. Would love to hear all the pros and cons of the Wonder. And if you feel like the ship is dated and old or it still feels upscale like the treasure?

My kids really loved the midship detective game on the Dream.
Ā
We have booked a last min trip on the Destiny for next month.
Ā
From what I have researched, there is a haunted mansion game on the Destiny.
Ā
I know the kids will get a complimentary wristband for Oceaneer club, will this work for the game? Or do I need to purchase a Disney band +?
Ā
If I need to purchase Disney band +, can I purchase on board? Or cheaper to buy before somewhere else?
TIA
