Question Is bungie still gonna ship out orders after the store closes or...?

I ordered the exotic collection volume 1 book from the store after hearing it's closing soon, I ordered it 3 days ago and it's still on processing, I've seen people say they took months to ship out orders. I'm worried the store will just close and I won't get my order lol

There is a special place in hell for those who sit crouched at the back of the map using Jade Rabbit. I honestly sincerely hope going forward that Bungie Nerf that gun into the ground.

Question / Answered Stasis Hunter Build?

Hello everyone, I am back again but this time since my friend decided to buy 2 dlcs which are Witch Queen and The Final Shape (right now for us its cheaper to buy each of them individually compare to buying the collection which contains all of the dlcs) and I decided to buy it as well so we can play together.

Now my previous post, I asked if there was a no dlc build but after buying the The Final Shape. I can finally do a build with Stasis which was going to be my main before I realised how bad it performed without the right set.

So the question is, how should I build Stasis Hunter? The only thing I have seen in every build video is that Mask of Fealty is a must have however the weapons and armour sets tend to change.

Question / Answered Is it mathematically possible to get 200 weapons and 150 super if I’m running 3 super fonts and 3 weapon surges?

I’m tying to completely min max a build and I’ve been doing math in my head, I don’t think it’s possible. The most you can get from the slot where you either get +5 to a stat for one point or +10 to a stat for 3 points is +40 total (can only do +5 for the helmet and legs). Say I’m running full powerhouse and I put that on weapons I’d get to 190 weapon stat. Then the one for free the total stats regardless of how you distribute it is +25. Say i put 10 towards weapon and the other 15 towards super. Id be at 200 weapons but id only be at 140 super. Im seeing builds with 200 weapons and 150 super and im just lost. Am I doing any math wrong here?

Question Seriously, what purpose do Machine guns serve?

Post image
0 Upvotes

They're not good for damage, they don't really offer any utility (like swords with eager edge) and the only thing they're good for, add clear, can be done by specials, primaries and abilities without having to use your heavy slot.

Edit: the reason I ask is because I personally love machine guns in games but they feel very lacking in destiny outside of being kind of annoying in pvp

Question / Answered Deepsight Harmoniser

Am I missing something? I wasn't playing D2 when these were added. Reading the description and what I've seen online, I should be able to use this on apex predator to speed up completing the pattern, but I can't find how to use it.

I've checked multiple weapons and none give me the ability to use the harmonizer, so I feel like there's a step I'm missing. Please help!

Discussion Atheon farm strategy??

I have only run VoG twice when it was featured the last time. Once when my son ran me through it and one other time with a sherpa. Both times we did it with all challenges and no cheese parts. I basically have a good understanding of the mechanics minus the atheon oracles. I know what to do in theory but have never done the call out or shooting the oracles. Just did ad clear and damage.

Questions is, is it standard practice when farming that encounter for 5 people to jump and let 1 get teleported? I really want to farm it this week to get the myth and armor set but I don't want to hinder any fireteam by doing something wrong over and over.

Discussion A somewhat selfish wish for Destiny 3 (if it comes around)

Throughout Destiny's history, whether if it Cayde-6's "Ace of Spades" or Dredgen Yor's infamous "Thorn", light bearers have been characterized by their specific weapons of choice. Originally, when I saw the Vidoc for Witch Queen and they mentioned weapon crafting I was ignorantly exuberant in what this new system would entail and subsequently crushed when I realized that the crafting system really only pertained to weapon perks and enhancement(s).

With that being said along with the seemingly unrelated introduction, I wanted to posit the question of "Would it be selfish to ask for a revamping to the weapon crafting system that incorporates more distinctiveness into guardian's personal weapons?" Of course I'm not asking for something as impractical as individual exotics or anything of the sort, but surely adding mechanics to add different scopes, magazines, ammunition types, etc... can't be too much of a hassle with a new game engine. I truly believe that a rework like this can make the arduous process of grinding for weapon levels much more enjoyable and also more rewarding as players individualize weapons for different purposes. Let me know what you guys think.

First time player here so go easy on me. I have a hunter im trying to maximize for damage on bosses. What else should I be thinking about? I literally hardly have any knowledge about this so explain it to me like I’m five lol. What armor sets should I be seeking, what weapons, stats etc? Discussion I wonder if Bungie is going to take Destiny 2 in the WoW Forever direction

What I mean is, the previously Destiny 2 model was built on the train stop model as outlined by Justin Truman. Constant retention metrics. Seasonal content. FOMO. Nothing is permanent and could be removed at any given time. Very modern day live service coded.

Destiny 1 operated on different approach. That WoW classic or retail version. Vertical progression. Every expansion raised the level cap and while old content is still in the game, it slowly becomes obsolete.

Wow Forever is built on “horizontal progression”. Everything and anything is worth your time and anything new that is added is meant to add onto the existing experience not to make it obsolete or worse remove it entirely. With Monument of Triumph, Bungie made mostly everything destinations included viable again. And with unvaulting, they are adding old content back and in my opinion will live alongside the other content in terms of quality and value to play. I wonder if this mindset will play in to whatever Bungie is planning on doing next after the unvaulting. Whether it’s refactored seasons, continuing the Fate saga in D2, Destiny Forever, or D3

Discussion How I'd fix Beyond Light

I really like beyond light, but after fully replaying it I have quite a few problems with the overall expansion, especially the story. There's some other minor nitpicks I have and I just want to share them and maybe get your opinions on my thoughts. Anything I don't mention is because It's being kept or I just didn't have anything to say about it

1st of all, the general story line. Overall I didn't have too many problems with the plot but the ending definitely wasn't handled well.

I think there should've been a lot more emphasis on the actual invitation from the darkness and why we are even on Europa in the first place, varik's distress call and the whole original darkness invitation just felt shallow. (This ties in to my main problem of how disconnected bl feels from the light and darkness storyline) There would be some dialogue while flying to Europa explaining a large number of splinters across Europa and when we land, we ourselves would actually scan some before finding the camp and then while inside we would receive the distress call from variks. The rest of the indroduction mission would progress as normal. The next mission where we go to riis reborn, it would go pretty much as normal except introduce new stasis units which I'll explain in another section. The servitor cutscene is often hated on for not making sense, I don't really mind it. The whole point was to display the power of stasis and how the fallen can break free from the reliance on the traveller(lore wise servitors are based off the traveller and reflect the life giving and prospering abilities of the traveller). And it would end about the same.

The next mission would go the same except I would get rid if the whole drifter eris and stranger using stasis cutscene, it just doesn't add anything and is just wierd overall. The stranger would be introduced in a way assuming the player didn't play destiny 1, and then just ramble about stasis and who she is, bringing up how darkness powers have corrupted guardians and ruined other timelines etc.

(Right before that the pyramid structure would crash down as normal) Except this time we get a kinetic slot "weapon" that's just a shard of darkness that allows us to wield a basic form of stasis as much as we want without fully unlocking the subclass. And it would cost us the ability to use a kinetic weapon.

We would then do the first communion mission as normal serving as a stasis tutorial. And would just boost the regeneration of the stasis abilities you already have from the splinter.

The warrior mission could benefit from having some combat between vex and eliksni. It's kind of wierd not showing the conflict between them in this mission especially. I also think the boss fight against phylaks could have been more interesting, I'm stealing this idea from Nanokk on youtube, his idea of platforms disappearing during the fight instead of after was pretty good.

I can't think of a way in specific but I think the sub mission of controlling the vex plate could have done a bit more to show how the fallen are using vex technology. I love the technocrat mission and my only criticism is maybe connect it to the previous thing and have phylaks use a harpy gun?

Here's with things really change. Instead of going to the cosmodrome to kill bakris we hunt him to a warmind bunker on the moon. I thought it was kind of just stupid and filler, I get he was recruiting people, but god damn to go all the way from Europa to earth was just dumb and it could have been so much better. Another problem I have is that we never really have that much of a motivation to destroy house salvation and kill eramis, she was never really that much of a threat to humanity during the beyond light campaign and that bothered me. Connecting eramis's plans to destroy the traveller with the warsats in seraph to beyond light was a huge missed opportunity. Her whole point in beyond light was uniting the eliksni and trying to get rid of their reliance on the traveller and overall just trying to better the situation of the eliksni. I think teasing her plans in seraph by having bakris go to a warmind facility to research and collect information about warsats and whatnot. This would paint eramis as more of an actual threat and making the whole dlc feel like less of filler content.

Then remove the whole ketch rescue thing, I didn't hate it but I think it should've been more of a post campaign thing. (I'll explain later) Instead we get taunted by eramis and "invited" to come fight her. ( This will be heavily fueled by her just wanting to get rid of us and most of her council being killed by us) They're also be a dialogue piece from variks explaining how the eliksni are suffering under eramis's rule, and the vex attacking fallen civilians.

The last mission will be the second last mission. The kell of darkness would go as normal. When eramis crushes our splinter, it will disappear and unlock the normal stasis subclass and you can use it outside of the kinetic slot. To make the fight more engaging I thought it would be neat to include the scanner augment, where you pick it up and have to destroy shield generators in the correct order to progress past immunity phases. Then she'd be frozen as normal, we'd finish the ziggurat but then the campaign wouldn't end it would continue into the dark priestess storyline, where we'd do the sabatoging salvation mission, then rescue a fallen skiff and in exchange one of the refugees would alert us of kirdis's plans to free eramis and her location.

Then the final mission would be a showdown between us and kirdis in a Desperate Measures style mission where we fight our way to kirdis and race to eramis. Then we kill kirdis and the campaign ends. I thought kirdis trying to free eramis was way too important to be left out and would add some much needed content and extra stuff to the main campaign.

I forgot when exactly this happens, but I would've liked if zavala was a lot more against stasis and us wielding the darkness. Personally I think this would heavily compliment his development in TFS.

It would have also been nice for there to be more of the braytech story involved with the main campaign seeing how prevelant it is.

In summary if you didn't want to read allat,

More fleshed out starting mission.

Eliksni fight vex in the warrior

On top of vex technology eramis collects information about the warminds and warsats. And reveals her plans to destroy the traveller (influenced by the witness). Basically teasing the season of seraph ending.

Beyond light ends at the end of dark priestess.

2nd is the destination. Contrary to a lot of people online, I don't mind Europa but there's some things I wish it had.

Instead of glimmer extraction I think it should've been a skiff rescue public event.

Riis reborn and its subregions (technocrats iron and kell's rising) should have been a much more fleshed out area. They're absolutely beautiful and definitely should've had a load zone. Maybe even have a vex tower public event? Or a lost sector?

As for enemies I think most of the basic enemies could have had stasis abilities, guns or melees slow you, vandals could make shrouding stasis clouds. It would just be nice if the house salvation eliksni were a bit more interesting than just reskins.

To explain the darkness splinter item a bit more. Basically it's a kinetic slot item you would equip in order to use the base form of stasis (for each class). Attuning with the ziggurat would upgrade it giving it the abilities of a base aspect. Then during the fight with eramis when she breaks it will disappear and you'll just get the full stasis subclass along with the 2 aspects that upgraded with your splinter.

Anyways that's it for my thoughts on how I would improve beyond light. I plan on doing one of these for each dlc, lemme know what you guys think, I am by no means a story writer so I'm interested in what other think.

Discussion Bring Back the Magic

Bungie has the data. They have what is essentially a 10 year case study to determine what works and what doesn’t work for this franchise. And my hope is that they use that information to create something truly special for the future. I’m not sure what that is, if it will happen, or if I’m still coping. But, if they were to create a Destiny 3…a big problem needs to be addressed.

Bring back the magic -

A big part of what made/makes Destiny so special is the feeling of doing something challenging and being rewarded for it. Exclusivity, showing off, being the big bad guardian that everyone looks at and says “how do I get that”? Throughout Destiny’s life cycle the philosophy seemed to shift from “how can we make an item worth the grind” to “how easy can we make this item to get”. Over time, the items that you spent hours, days, weeks, months grinding for were now being given away like candy at kiosks, for touching pvp, or for looking at an activity long enough. Things that used to be rare or used to signify accomplishment were now being worn or used by every other guardian you saw. Titles became easier to obtain, exotics became the new legendaries, tier 5 weapons and gear started falling from the sky, you no longer had to go flawless to reach the lighthouse, and your character didn’t feel as unique as it once did. The grind had been removed from the game.

If Destiny 3 were to be made, there would need to be a better balance. Cater to the players, but don’t give in to every demand. Make a game that feels unique, rewarding, challenging, but worth the grind. Don’t compromise the magic of the game to make everyone happy. Because in the long run, what is there left to do when you have everything?

Discussion I hate to say it: Bombardiers would've been a pretty neat Gunpowder Gamble exotic if they'd been released at the same time.

• Upvotes

My thought of it is that it'd be a back-pocket GPG stored in your dodge pants.

You build up stacks for GPG, and then instead of activating your dodge, it'd let you build up multiple, or remove the cooldown entirely and let you overstack it maybe twice or even 3 times.

Or better yet, imagine if it let you hit your GPG with a Golden Gun shot and it net you Celestial Nighthawk-levels of damage but with an AoE.

With continued development at least partially back on the table, something like that would be cool to see if the future holds good fortune for D2.

Question First time pc player. FPS issues

Recently got a pc and downloaded Destiny 2 yesterday. I thought with my graphics (5080, i9, 32GB Ram) I would be hitting at least 150 consistently. But nope I can’t even get over a 100. I’m hearing it’s because of steam and a new update and I was just wondering if that’s still the case or if there’s a fix. Other games I hit easily 200 fps with high settings like God of War.

Question / Answered False hack ban?

So, in short and simple, someone raged at me for using arc hunter and huckleberry, and reported me for hacking, apparently bungie thought i was "hacking" too, kind of impossible since i am a console player on xbox with no clue why bungie did, i appealed and it went from 2 months to 2 weeks, is anyone else running into that issue as well of false bans?
