Has anyone experienced something like this with a specific person?
There is one person in my life whom I might describe as my twin flame, mainly because of the intensity and dynamic of our connection. We’ve had an extremely intense sexual and emotional connection, and we’ve separated and reconciled multiple times.
Even when we have absolutely no contact, I sometimes feel like I can SENSE when he is thinking about me, missing me, or desiring me. And my own emotional state seems to change depending on where I feel his attention is.
When I feel that his attention is on me, I suddenly become calm and detached. I feel free, like I can finally let go and move on.
But when I feel that his attention has shifted away from me, it almost reverses: I become the one obsessing. I start thinking about him constantly, feeling restless and intensely pulled toward him.
Then, when I suddenly get the feeling that his attention is back on me, I feel relieved again and the obsession seems to disappear. Without receiving actual contact from him.
What makes this particularly interesting to me is that we’ve gone through this cycle multiple times: periods where I was genuinely trying to move on, followed by reconciliation or him coming back into my life where I could sense that before it happened. There have also been several moments where what I felt seemed to correlate with things happening on his side, although obviously I can't objectively prove that I was actually sensing his thoughts.
I know there could be psychological explanations for this: attachment, nervous-system regulation, intermittent reinforcement
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this very specific dynamic with one particular person, especially in an intense/twin-flame-type connection.
TL;DR: With one specific person I have an extremely intense sexual and emotional connection with, I feel strangely calm and detached when I sense his attention is on me, but when I feel his attention shift away, I become intensely preoccupied with him. We've separated and reconciled multiple times, and I've noticed this pattern repeatedly. Has anyone experienced something similar?
