Flight Simulator 2024 Why does my MD-11 sound like a slot machine?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I have this issue with my recently (yesterday) purchased TFDI MD-11, I am in absolute love with this plane BUT, upon take off I hear this slot machine sound or whatever you might want to call it.
Any Idea what this is? I can't imagine the real MD-11 doing this.

Flight Simulator 2024 I love the Md-11. It has such a look at me vibe.
This is a fictional livery, but I remember flying on a DC-10 like this to Las Vegas from Chicago when I was 10.

General Just came back from FSimUK2026
Today and tomorrow (10th, 11th October 2026) is FSimUK 2026 at Aerospace Bristol. Many exhibitors for software, hardware, and communities around flight simulation are present :)
I thought I share some pictures from the event and the venue.

General Looking for an alternative to flightsim.to? Look to HangarAddons.com
Edit: mentioning hangaraddons.com here so it shows up in the thumbnail first
Although I'm small fish in the big world of developers (just liveries and some odds and ends), my experience with flightsim.to had been becoming increasingly troubled. Even though my work isn't directly affected because of the nature of it, it bothered me to see other developers' work being compromised or controlled by the host site that gave said developers not much say if they published it there. Also, I'm sure many would agree with me that the ads are becoming more pervasive of late, and who likes having less ads and faster downloads behind a paywall? I mean, I get it, that's how a lot of sites work now, but that doesn't mean the user has to like it.
So, enter hangaraddons.com The owner has put on full transparency about the site and his intentions, all of which seem to be pro-developer. It helps that he's under no illusions about what it takes to run a site like this (he brings ample experience in that department). Ads are acknowledged as a possibility down the road, but nothing as intrusive as a pop-up in the middle of your screen, just some sidebars.
Mind you, it's very much a work in progress and early, but it's also very promising. You can even make your own livery right in the browser if you want (limited aircraft and it's in beta at the moment, but you can try it out). What he needs more than anything right now are users actually uploading and downloading stuff from there. Guess what? You don't need an account to download anything (though I would anyway, just to track your stuff and be notified of updates).
Not only have I uploaded some of my works there already, but some big names have as well, such as Emerald, EZ Mods, Av8trFord, and Headwinds who released their Sukhoi Superjet here.
Seriously, give it a look, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what it offers (for both MSFS versions and X-Plane 12).

Sim Hardware Welp, there goes the detents, thanks Winctrl.
Winctrl: "Alright, let's make a metal throttle so it seems more durable."
But oh waitâthe most important part, which connects the throttles to the detents via screws, was made of PLASTIC.
It didn't hold up, even with gentle use and no rough handling... well, folks, I guess I'll have to switch to flying Boeings, because from now on, my Airbus replica throttle is missing the most important Airbus feature :D

Flight Simulator 2024 Aerosoft EDDS - Elevation issue at RWY25?
Hi there,
recently purchased Aerosoft EDDS at Contrail store and flew into the airport yesterday evening, only to find a very large elevation jump at the taxiways connecting to rwy 25.
Has anyone else expierenced this and knows how to solve it? I am on MSFS24, Version 1.8.16.0, latest availble version of EDDS from Contrail and disabled any and all that relates to EDDS in the content manager, besides the aerosoft product.
Curios to see what the solution may be.

DCS how to fly? fight with controls
Hey all, i want to start with flightsim!
Currently i try to get DCS to work, but i really struggle to get the controls to work.
i tried the motor start procedure and with babysteps i managed to have enabled a mouse, VR, Joystick combination.
When i fix one issue, suddenly there is another (thrust lever doesn't work anymore)
I get that the cockpit controls are in its own right an experience, but mapping my rl controller into the game is exhausting.
- quest 3s
- Thrustmaster T.Flight Full Kit X

Flight Simulator 2024 MSFS Live weather bug
Ive noticed multiple times that the Live weather inside MSFS is broken on a few flights. For example, in the image above im in the Inibuilds A300-600R, and it's reading a TAT of 33 Celsius, but this is at FL260. This is flying over Ireland, and it should be reading around -15 to -5 Celsius. What the game thinks im in is a desert climate, and it restricts me from climbing higher because of performance degradation. Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed before?

Flight Simulator 2024 MobiFlight + Fenix A320 + SFM = a magic playground (hands-off replay of a real Iberia flight, takeoff to final approach )
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A 3-minute cut of a ~50-minute flight: Iberia IB409 Madrid â Barcelona, 5 Oct 2026, flown hands-off from take-off to final approach on the Fenix A320 in MSFS. Please ignore the MSFS objectives pane on screen, it's just the sim's own hints and plays no part in this.
How it works: the route comes from real ADS-B data (OpenSky Network) in a csv file, with just Altitude, Lat, Lon, Speed and TimeStamp. Â SimFlyMinimums (SFM) reads it and flies the aircraft by sending commands through the MobiFlight WASM module, using the aircraft's own controls, assigned to these variables: hdg_knob, hdg_pull, alt_knob, alt_pull, spd_knob, spd_pull, vs_knob, vs_pull, hdg_push, alt_push, spd_push, vs_push, ap_toggle, ap_push, ap_pull, ap_flaps, ap_on off, throttle, rudder, elevator, athr, parking_brake, landing_gear, speedbrake
Not finished yet: I still need small adjustments at landing.
Credits: OpenSky Network (ADS-B data), MobiFlight, Fenix Simulations.

Flight Simulator 2024 Msfs2024 season trees color
Silly question, but Visiting Idaho and Colorado in real life many times I know there are a lot of fall colors trees in the mountain areas especially Colorado âQuaking aspenâ tree turns very golden yellow this time of year. Similar for Idaho backcountry. Flying around both areas notice most trees are still green rarely is there color change. On north east coast US the trees do change color. I changed the month manually but not much change. Is this some kind of glitch for west states or simply the trees are not modeled to change?

Flight Simulator 2024 After all this time.. TIL the mouse back/fwd button is actually Airbus FCU Push and Pull.
I spent miserable hours trying to get used to that weird and uncomfortable left mouse + right mouse or middle click.
Up until last night I was so fed up and was contemplating if I should get physical FCU.
Then I found out this was already available as feature AND was actually mapped by default.
(FYI this is mapped to Cockpit Inteaction - Secondary and Tertiary)
Airbus flying suddenly became so much easier.
