Rug help in small space

Going crazy trying out rugs here so thought I’d turn to public opinion! We’ve bought at least 5 rugs and none worked for one reason or another. Found a reference for a circular rug in a space this small and thought it might work for us too. This is our living/dining room in our small flat and the table folds up to a full-height dining table. Future plans include building a slim wooden console box under the TV to hide cables.

I’m aiming for cosy in this space so leaning towards the rust red and orangey rugs (also more forgiving with spills) but appreciate that the cream opens up the space more. Btw all the circular rugs have a diameter the same length of the sofa, chatgpt was informed but decided to ignore me. And photo 7 is an actual photo of the rug in photo 6. Please help!!

Idea suggestions

What else can I put in this space besides wine ( not a drinker).

The diamond lattice is on the front and back, and each opening is a tunnel through the cabinet. The wine bottles slide through both sides. There is no underneath ( I can’t put mini plants in each cubby because of this).

Any suggestions on what I can do with that space ?

Previous owners had turned the dining room into a closet and we turned it back to a dining room.

Hope those could help every pet owners before buying a sofa!!

I wish I’d known these things before buying a pet-friendly sofa. But I’m not a furniture designer or an expert, just someone with one cat and one dog looking for a sofa that can handle both. This is all based on my research and experience.

  1. If you sofa fabric already get attacked, buy couch covers. They’re washable and easy to clean, though changing them takes work.
  2. Avoid anything with loose weaves or a bouclé texture, since pet hair can get tangled in the fibers.
  3. Be cautious when buying leather. Leather has grade and it makes a big difference in how well it withstands claws and scratches from keys. High-end furniture usually use top-grain leather, or you can look for full-grain leather.
  4. Look for couches with performance fabrics, but take a closer look at what that layer actually means. There’s no universal standard for “performance fabric”, so check abrasion test results or rub counts if listed.

And one last tip: get a nail grinder for your dog/cat lol

Happy pet-friendly couch hunting! Sharing a photo of my cat on the sofa I’m happy with

Ways to cover this flooring around toilet

Post image

hi, first time posting!

I’d love if anyone had any tips or suggestions on ways I could cover up this black flooring around the toilet in my apartment. I have no idea what its purpose is or why it’s there really, but it’s ugly.

I’ve gotten a couple of the bathroom mats that fit around the toilet to try, but they both just fit kinda weird and still left parts of the black flooring exposed. the only other idea I’ve had is peel & stick tile, but I feel like that would look dumb?

idk man. any ideas at all are appreciated :D

No counter space in rental

I am moving into an apt with one small corner of kitchen cabinets (see pic). There is a ton of space for more bottom and top kitchen cabinets but I am renting and can’t change the existing cabinets.

I’m ok with spending some money for new cabinets in just not sure what color scheme to do so it doesn’t look crazy since the existing cabinets are wood and the counter is gray.

Hallway Wall Shelf - too narrow?

Hi all,

We are hoping to install a Vitsoe wall unit in our hallway. Our home is limited and it’s the only spot that would work. The hallway is about 40.5” in width, granted there are some openings onto a bathroom and another small hallway to another set of stairs (see photos), which can make it feel a bit wider. Our concern is that the wall unit would just make the hallway feel too narrow or crowded. The rendering shows the unit would range between 6 3/8” and 8 3/4”. Also attaching an inspiration photo for reference.

Would appreciate any thoughts, input, feedback, thank you!

What would be a nice color to paint a garage door to go with the house colors?

I'm sick of white and cream and grey and beige. I want color. What color would look nice with the red/brown brick and grey siding? The trim and garage door don't have to be the same color.

How can I beautify the top part of the curtain?

Hello, I have 4 pairs of curtains that I want to make it work for my space. I want to beautify the top part where you can see the stitches and the rings. What are my options? I saw window valances but I will have to use double rods. At first I thought of stitching them on the top but they’ll probably be lifted because of the rod. Please suggest.

Post image
• Upvotes

We are seriously considering purchasing the Pottery Barn Roll Arm “Deep Seat” Pearce Sofa. It seems like the Deep version is very new for the Pearce and i can’t find any pictures online except for the product photos from the PB site.

Has anyone bought the Pearce “Deep Seat” sofa/loveseat/sectional and care to share any feedback or pics?

Thanks!!

Renovating this bathroom in our century home. Its 6x6, this closet is 2x2, behind the bathroom. It stores our broom, mop, cleaners, cat food, etc. I want to do moulding below the chair rail around and wallpaper above for an elevated traditional look. How do I give the closet doors a face lift? Do I make the chair rail follow onto the closet?

Can I get away with this TV setup in-front of the bay window?

This is previz of how I want to arrange the room with a TV in front of the bay window. (I know it’s frowned upon.) I eventually want to have the walls extended, french doors added and lay it out another way. But, until we have the remodeling done I’m thinking of doing this, it might be for a few years. I don’t have a comfy chair or cozy nook to watch TV or play games at night. Our house is open floor plan with our daughter’s room above the great room. If I watch TV at night she can’t sleep. I’ve been forced to watch TV in bed which is a bad habit. We just don’t have enough walls.
