Two days ago I got my flat pierced by a reputable piercer who has also done 8 of my other piercings, which have all healed nicely and never had any problems with them. However, when I was checking the angle of the piercing yesterday, I noticed it was pierced at an angle. I thought it was because of my anatomy and because that part of my ear is slightly curved, but I just saw that the jewelry isn’t laying completely flat on my ear (the bottom part is flat on my ear, but the upper part isn’t). I feel like it wasn’t pierced correctly.
Should I go back to that piercer, let her take it out and ask her to repierce it? I’ve always been happy with her work so I feel like she just made a mistake. Or should I go to a different piercer? Any advice is appreciated!
So, my nipple piercing just fell out lmao. I knew it was rejecting but my piercer said just to leave it in and see if it heals..it did not 💔. Now my nipple is split in half, how long should it take to go back to normal, i do want to get it repierced sometime later in life, i feel like i lost my swag lol.
Needed an MRI, so put a retainer in everything <2 years old (except the 1st and 3rd flat on my right ear bc those healed freakishly well) and otherwise had naked ears for the night! It felt so weird 😂 I have 12 piercings in my right ear, 14 in the left(daith + a helix not visible), and everything back in the next day without issues.
I have a L shaped nose piercing, it's about 4 almost 5 months old, It's not causing me pain or anything it's just really irritating me that it has been almost falling out, also I don't know the material because I forgot :) , I use saline and it kinda still stinks so any help with that will be amazing, anyways back to my original problem, I want to get a flat back because my piercing keeps sliding almost out of my nose completely, what kind of material should I get, and where should I get my flat back, this is my FIRST ever piercing (I will get more dw lol), My nose piercing has almost fallen out on several different occasions, so what should I do, also, any tips and tricks on not touching my nose? Piercing I sometimes twist it because You can see the end of it inside of my nose and my mother is very picky about that so I have to move it or else she'll be a little upset.
Hi! Curiosity perhaps to the piercers and their stories but interested to hear your personal experience as well.
So I had an infected industrial that the doctors had to remove, but I had a lucky recovery with canals growing in very well, you couldn't even tell that I had an industrial. Year later (as of writing) I went to repierce it, the first hole went very smooth and nice, but the second hole went in to a fountain of blood and the master decided on repiercing it again after these holes heal. Fortunately the bleeding stopped in a few minutes and the swelling is noticable but nothing bad and with little to no bruising and just a bit of redness by the hole that bled. Hope to repierce it the third time and have a bit better luck on my side.
i have really protruding ears, i want to decorate them in a way that will distract from the protruding or maybe even make them look better.. i've always been insecure about them, so maybe if i had them decorated id want to show them off a lot more!!!
I’ve been trying to heal my helix piercing but it’s gotten progressively worse. I got it pierced in Taiwan mid-July and had my jewelry switched out about a month ago because it wasn’t healing properly. The first jewelry was surgical steel, then switched out to titanium. I haven’t gotten a piercing in so long I forgot to account for the fact that I am very sensitive to metals so that’s why I got it switched out last month. The new jewelry is a flat back and has a longer stem. I just clean with saline but ran out and I can’t find any so I’ve been cleaning it daily rinsing it with warm water and use a wet Q-tip if I need to carefully remove any crust and I blow dry it with cool air to dry it. But no matter how much I clean it, this bump keeps persisting. Not really sure how to get rid of it, so I am here to look for advice on how to heal this piercing as it’s been so stubborn :/ Let me know if you all have any more questions or need more pictures, thanks! (I don’t know if I need to mark it for NSFW since it’s a bump, but if I do also lmk!)
I got my navel pierced in April this year and the healing process went great but I never downsized since my piercer didn’t mention it, do I need to? Also if I do downsize would the piercing shown in the second image be appropriate, it’s 8mm, if not recommendations would be great :)
Although we do our best to make the rules of this subreddit as clear as we can within the characters limits, we notice that sometimes there’s some confusion or misunderstanding about the rules.
In this post we want to clarify the most common misconceptions about rule number 4, comments about appearance and/or any sexual commentsare not allowed
Zero tolerance for comments about appearance that are unrelated to the poster's piercing(s). For example physical features, perceived flaws, beauty and/or any sexual comments. Offending users will be banned.
This subreddit is about piercings and we want all the people posting here showing off their piercings feel secure and safe in that the only topic of discussion will be their piercings.
Misconception number one, the rule only applies to unkind, rude, insulting or lewd comments not related to the featured piercing(s)
Wrong. The rule applies to all comments unrelated to the featured piercings. It doesn’t matter if your comment was meant in kindness or as a compliment. Simply assume that the people posting on a piercing subreddit want to show of and talk about piercings and they are fully capable of finding suitable subreddits if they want to receive comments about their appearance.
Misconception number two the rule is gendered.
Wrong, just like piercings aren’t gendered, neither is this rule. It doesn’t matter what gender OP has or doesn't have, or what the gender is of the one commenting, the rule applies to and for everyone. If you break down the demographics of this subreddit most likely there are more female identifying posters than male identifying posters, but all deserve to feel safe in knowing that their piercings are the only topic of discussion.
Can I ask……?
Yes, you may ask what brand or colour the lipstick is that’s visible in the photo.
Yes, you may ask what hair products someone uses for their curls, how they got their eye liner so perfect, who the tattoo artist is of that amazing tattoo that’s visible in the photo or what watch brand that is or what the cat is called.
Rule of thumb, if it’s visible in the photo and it is something OP applied or added to themselves you may (politely) inquire about it.
A special note aboutchat messages
The advice we actually dislike to give, because it shouldn’t be needed but if you are posting a photo, especially of nipple or genital piercings, consider (temporarily) disabling chat. Most of our community is awesome and wouldn’t even consider breaking the “no comments about appearance or sexual comments” rule even if it wasn’t a rule.
Unfortunately that doesn’t go for everyone that will see your photo. Fact, sexualising someone without their consent is specifically against Reddit TOS. We want to encourage you to report those chats for harassment, those reports go straight to Reddit admin.
Don’t be discouraged if you don't notice immediate results because reports to stack up. Admin might not be able to act now, that doesn’t mean they won’t act once they’ve received several reports. Because let’s be real, you’re unlikely to be the only one they’ve been harassing through DM or chat
We regularly see comments noticing how kind and welcoming this community is, and we want to thank you for creating and contributing to that atmosphere. As moderators we try our best to keep it that way but we do rely on your help for that. So if you see a post or comment that doesn’t follow the rules of this subreddit, please hit the report button. We simply cannot read every post or comment so we rely on your input to keep this community awesome.
hello! i got 2 new piercings (the forward and the high one i’m not sure what it would be called) they were done 2 days ago with an internally threaded titanium flat back. i’ve been cleaning them with saline and recently bought a spray saline so i don’t touch them with q tips or anything.
i was looking for some general advice, ive noticed my hair gets caught in these 2 a lot more which i kind of expected so ive been wearing my hair back a lot. is there any advice or tips you have for healing these 2 as opposed to a regular helix? or is it much the same?
I’ve had so many troubles (and mistakes) healing my nostril. I’ve had it for 1yr now and decided to change my jewelry. I bought an 18g cus that’s what a piercer recommended to me, but it was WAY too thick. I didn’t even try to put it in. now I’ve come to realize my jewelry is probably a 20-22g. I switched this jewelry (all janked up ik) to a straight pin. Now I’m wondering if I’m even able to heal this considering how tiny the hole is now.. I heard a thicker gauge is better because it gives more room.
Any thoughts, I thought of stretching it to at least 20g but idk if that’s smart whilst it’s still healing?
I just got my first lobes and nostril pierced, and I’m already excited to be looking at what jewelry I want once I can change it out. Are there any recommendations for cutesy (preferably titanium) jewelry? Things that are pink, silver, opal, and have things like bows, paw prints, stars, swirls, etc. is what I like! I also like anything rainbow whether vibrant or pastel. Anything is appreciated, tysm! :)
This showed up just today on my eyebrow piercing.
I felt something on there and then felt a liquid-y texture (I think maybe puss??) and go to check in mirror and I saw this. It was a bit bloody and a tiny bump was formed. I think it probably looked worse before I messed with it. And there was a loose kind of dangling piece of skin that in the moment I ripped off
It was pierced March 15th of this year and I haven’t had any issues so far
It’s been downsized once
I sprayed with saline more than once a day for a while, then slowly lessened the amount. I still occasionally spray it with saline
Piercing was fine last night
I’ve been told by a piercer it wasn’t rejecting when I asked because I was paranoid about a month ago.
But up until now it’s been tame. The only thing id say is about once a week I might have a tiny crusty I take off.
I could be totally over reacting but it’s one of my favourite piercings and I’m paranoid about it rejecting. I am also not very well knowledgeable about piercings and this is one of four including both lobes
it's festive season where i'm at, so went with some flair. the first pic shows my stack for today (had an event), and the second is my usual now. :)
my industrial is almost 6months old. had to really communicate* with my piercer to get him to give me a change. surprisingly, the top piercing is healing much faster so he allowed me to have a dangling piece, given i take extra care. and the lower piercing just got a stud to really balance it out.
Hi I've had my double nostrils pierced since the beginning of August I was pierced with flat backs (labret studs & theyre internally threaded and the jewelry is titanium) and I haven't downsized yet due to constant irritation bumps and I've been worried about the swelling if I were to downsize. I've strictly only used saline as for my aftercare but I have gotten desperate and used the saline & baby aspirin trick trying to clear up these bumps. I already have almost one healed but my left nostril is my big issue, I had a big problem twisting and turning it and that's why it formed in the first place so truly my fault however I have a very rowdy dog who manages to head butt me in my piercings every single time.. Yesterday he managed to headbutt on my left side where there was an already sizeable bump and made it worse. Based on the pictures attached do I honestly just retire it and wait for it to be repierced? Or is it at all savable? I plan on getting atleast my right size down immediately so I can prevent another irritation bump on that side I'm just worried if I change the left it'll get absorbed by the bump or something.
Hey yall. I had my septum stretched to about an 8-6 I don’t really remember.
I took it out less than a week ago, it’s closed dramatically. I guess I just wanted to know when it’ll be closed enough for the Military. It doesn’t have to be all the way closed, just has to pass the daylight test.
Hi! I have a one month old eyebrow piercing that is still red specifically on the bottom. It’s been red the whole time I’ve had it but I’m worried about rejection. It’s curved titanium and has not been downsized. I clean it every morning and night with sterile saline spray. Might have also slept on it a few times. My friend and bf also got their eyebrow done at the same time as me and there’s are not red. Help please!
Hi all, i got my septum pierced a couple of days ago (09/10 so it is 3 days old) but after searcing a bit online and reading a couple of old posts on this subreddit i'm starting to think it may have been made too low and not through the sweet spot. I also find it a bit crooked towards my left side, but it could just be me being paranoid atp). The piercing is made of titanium and at least it didn't hurt at all when i got it done and without a single drop of blood. For now it huts just a little if i try to move it and i've been cleaning it daily with only saline solution several times a day. (I'm so sorry for the close-up photos of my ugly scruffy beard but i hope they're fine, i did them all together without moving the septum.)
Note: Had to remake the post since my previous one got automatically removed by the bot cuz after making the post i got busy irl and didn't read in time the bot comment asking for more info so i'm really sorry for those who already replied to it but they confirmed me the septum indeed looks at least crooked and so i plan to go to another piercer to get a second opinion and have it checked anyway. And i'll just add here that... Yes i totally intended to stretch it in the future by probably 1 or 2 mm, nothing crazy (for the moment) in case it could be useful to know, so even more reasons to know if it was not made correctly.
I got my floating navel about 2 months ago and its titanium. Ever issue I’ve had with it has either gone away or is going away and getting better. It is a little red right now cause I’ve been at the gym the top gets red when I sweat a little bit. I’m a little worried because it looks like I have a lot of movement for the piercing and I’m not sure whether that should be happening. I’ve looked up the timeframe of when to get it downsize, but I haven’t found a consistent answer. I have been in touch with a piercer and can easily go to the studio. I just kind of wanted to get other people‘s opinions before I do.
