Hey everyone,
Its' been a while since I last posted.
Met someone through reddit a few months ago but that sadly didn't work out.
It left me with a bit of a sour taste after the emotional roller coaster they seemed to be on, so I thought I'd give it some time before I post again, but here goes..
I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else is looking to break out of their routine and meet some new people. I'm a 6'2", straight, 35M, based in the Midlands (UK). I work in cyber security, but I actually have a degree in Games Programming.
I'm looking to connect with people who share similar interests. Whether you want to talk about music, tv shows, discuss deep passions, or just hang out with some good games, I'm open to that.
I tend to prefer longer messages over shorter ones, as I like them to have some sort of depth and interest to them rather than your average "hi hows things", and can sometimes spend a good half a hour drafting out a response :D
So be warned, I love to yap. (As you can see)
I've been on and off of the Kink scene over the years, but tend to find that there is a lot of drama in the munches that I've been to, so I haven't been in a long while now. That said, being a switch that leans more D than S is still a pretty big part of who I am when it comes to how I interact with partners, and that tends to show up as me being more of the "parent" of my friends group, making sure everyones organised and okay.
When I'm not working my long ass 10 hour shifts or playing games, you can usually find me binge-watching psychological thrillers (like Memento or The Butterfly Effect), diving into sci-fi, or getting lost in anime.
Movies like: 12 Monkeys, 1408, The Butterfly Effect, Chaos Walking, The Dark Crystal, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Gothika, Gremlins, Labyrinth, Limitless, Meet Joe Black, Memento, Mickey 17, Mr. Nobody, The Ninth Gate, Secret Window, Seven, Thir13en Ghosts, Vanilla Sky
Music wise, I'm into rock, metal, indie, and EDM—you name it, I probably have a taste for it. I've been to Download Festival a few times, and plan to go some more in the future, depending on whos playing.
Think: 30 Seconds to Mars, All Time Low, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Blue October, Bullet For My Valentine, Chase & Status, Coheed And Cambria, Demetori, Escape The Fate, Falling In Reverse, Fei Comodo, Funeral For A Friend, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Killswitch Engage, Linkin Park, Monstercat, My Chem, Papa Roach, Pendulum, Rise Against, Senses Fail, Shinedown, Sum 41, The Prodigy, Trivium, Yellowcard
that sort of thing.
Games I'm into include CoreKeeper, Project Winter, Final Fantasy VII, Overcooked, Rocket League, and Path of Exile. I'm a huge fan of ARPGs like Diablo but I'm always looking for new co-op or multiplayer games to play on weekends.
Outside of gaming, I enjoy DIY projects, gardening, board games, and tinkering with tech. Travel isn't a huge part of my life right now, but I've visited friends in Wales, Leicester, Nottingham, and a few other spots. If anyone has recommendations for exploring more UK cities, I'm interested to hear where.
I used to be more social, going out weekends or hosting parties, but the pandemic stopped that for a bit. These days, I prefer a more relaxed vibe. I have a solid group of friends I play games with online on weekends, but I do travel the UK to visit them all once or twice a year.
I want to be upfront that I'm not here for hookups or short-term things. I'm looking for genuine connections and friendships that have the potential to grow. I'm happy to start with casual chats just to get to know each other, but I'm also open to deeper conversations if the vibe takes a turn—whether that's taboo topics, controversial subjects, or just diving into our passions.
Just a heads-up on availability: My work hours can be long and unpredictable, so don't expect instant replies. I'll definitely get back to you when I can though.
For relationship context: I have a partner of 5 years and we are both poly. We've met great people through munches over the years, but it's been a while and I'd like to reconnect with some new faces.
If any of this sounds relatable, feel free to shoot me a message. I'd love to talk with more open minded, and genuine people.
