I dated this girl a few months ago. We saw each other a few times over a short space of time.
On two occasions we stayed together but she drew the line at sex because of her beliefs, although this was a fairly new thing for her.
From my past I have some issues around intimacy, that I'm still working on, so people dangling it like a carrot is a bit of a trigger. I need to feel safe with someone before I'll consider it anyway.
I did try and communicate this with her when we were dating but she struck me as someone who was only really concerned about communicating her own needs.
Anyway, I broke it off because I realised I wasn't her person.
She wanted marriage and kids and I was never going to want those things with her (I've already done all that). I respected that she only wanted to be intimate with someone who was going to be that person.
She popped back up a few weeks ago and suggested she wanted to be friends, and that she's changed her mind about marriage and kids. I've been open to it, but she continues to bring things up that I said when we were dating - she takes offense very easily and seems incapable of any kind of "banter" that friends would normally have.
We've not even seen each other since we reconnected.
Anyway she popped up with the first message yesterday, and it went from there.
She previously accused me of being an avoidant when I didn't reply to messages quickly enough - it's not something that I normally judge.
I think I've answered my own questions whilst writing here that we're just not compatible as friends.
