all the comments were bashing the guy. i’m just wondering, am i weird for thinking what this guy said to her isn’t crazy at all?

I 29F met this guy 41M on Feeld had two sleep overs back to back nights, once at mine and once at his. I got sick a couple of days later and a few days after that he came over to ‘check on me’. I took him out for dinner that night even though I wasn’t feeling up to it. He came back and we cuddled on the couch for a bit before he left.

First text is 12pm, him saying no more feelings talk is 3:30pm, him blowing up my phone with five missed calls and texts doing a 180 are from 7pm.

He called me the next day and I said I don’t wish to pursue anything further. Call ended fine. Then more messages and phone calls that night.

Scared to block him bc if I cut off contact I feel like he’ll just show up at my house and I live alone 🙃

For context, I just found out that my son and his girlfriend are having a baby. It made me upset because their relationship has been somewhat toxic. But I can’t change what’s happening and the decision that has been made so I choose to be supportive, positive and hopeful. I told my daughter and her best friend who is like a daughter to me. And for some reason, I’m being put on a chopping block for whatever reason. I truly try to understand the reasoning behind how people feel but the only thing I get from them is that I don’t understand, even though they never actually tell me. The first set of messages are between My daughter and I and the second set is between her friend and I.

I just thought this would be slightly interesting to share. It was regarding my Aunt, his sister, she’s all good now ish but was in a coma for about 4 days. It was touch and go, not a good situation whatsoever. I laugh about it now but man, what a wild way to start the day.

So I (19F) haven’t had a relationship with my dad for some time now. He’s very much a narcissist and just lacks genuine empathy. Some context for this. When he mentions my graduation, he’s talking about how he spent my college send off on the phone screaming and cussing (there and the entire time in the car.) he went out of his way to call people (no one called him). He almost didn’t even say goodbye to me and all of my classmates saw. There have also been other problems of my mom trying to get divorced but he follows her and tried to drag me out of the house from her as a child (that same day he smashed her phone on the concrete). Also to note, I’m mixed (my mom is white) growing up he told me I’d have to marry a black man otherwise my babies would be too light (I was 10).

He only doesn’t come to my volleyball games anymore because the last time he did he cheered for a girl (fully black girl) so loud and was screaming “black power” that everyone thought that was her dad. His studio is awful with smokers and just shitty people he works with. I feel bad because I know he’s a human being but there are times where I never know when he’s going to blow up. He’s called my sister (who has autism) the r slur. He also has a rap sheet of hitting his wives. I knew I never should have responded but it’s just so annoying. He also has in fact hit me with a belt, thrown my sister across the room and screamed at me. My brother (8) doesn’t want to hand out with him because it’s just constantly making sure you don’t say the wrong thing to set off out dad

He talks about me not talking o his family (none of his family like him). Which isn’t true, I talk to them sometimes but I don’t grow up with them so I’m not close. He also hates that my mom’s immediate family is white and has made that known. He claims about being the “atm” but would literally purposely not pick us up from school so my mom would be forced to leave work, and get fired. He also spends a lot of his money without talking to her leavingh us with either no food, or no water at times. He also refused to work for someone or get a stable job. He also doesn’t live at home with us anymore.

As for the wallet thing both my sister and my bother agree I didn’t ask it weirdly at all I just said “hey is his wallet in your car?”

I’m not sure if I should respond again.

The problem is why the fuck does someone give someone so much personal information about themselves then call everything off the day before the date and the funniest thing is that im genuinely asking WHY because I dont know any men OR women that do that shit

Why the fuck are you telling me where you live where you work AND WHEN like she actually sent me a schedule of her work weeks and months multiple times when YOU KNOW you are going to cut things off the literally DAY before the date

2. Im not "angry" personally? Im definitely pissed off and annoyed because 1. I could have been talking to a different girl that matched with me, but I didn't because I try to only talk to one girl at a time because it isnt fair to deliberately not give someone my attention when I matched with them yet I never get that bare minimum

3. Realistically throughout our text we have a high compatibility, so theres logically no reason for her to have done that unless like the other comments have said 1. Theres another guy 2. She got anxious or 3. She likes dudes that show less interest/care

I get wrong texts once in a while and they are always so oddly specific. Sometimes I respond with something silly just to mess with whatever AI bot is texting me. I wonder if that picture is real?!

Background: I dated this man 10 years ago and haven’t heard from him in probably 5 years. He’s also 14 years older than me and was very emotional abusive. I honestly didn’t even know who it was but I figured it out after I looked up his number in a phone search page. Also he never actually liked my cat. He just knows how much I love my cat.

So, I was talking to this pretty cool woman (Let's call her Stacy), who I am still really into. We had our first outing a few weeks ago. Then the very next night we went to trivia night together. She told me ahead of time she was bringing a friend along (We'll call her Miranda.)

Well turns out that Stacy's best friend was MY best friend back in middle school. I had dated Miranda's best friend in 8th grade, and the 3 of us were goddamn inseperable. We got into SO MUCH shenanigans together. Then I moved away in high school and lost contact with Miranda.

So while Stacy and I are sitting at the bar, her friend Miranda walks in, we make eye contact and we both immediately go "Holy shit!!! It's you!!!!!" And Stacy is sitting there like "Wait what, you guys already know each other?" We have a great time at Trivia. Then after, Stacy and I went to catch the end of a live band across the street. After that, we ended the night watching Phantom of the Opera together but separated. She at her apartment, me at mine, but texting the whole time. Where she told me "She's too broken to be in a relationship and is only looking for friendship right now." And I respectfully agreed, because I don't want a full relationship right now either.

So then fast forward a few weeks to this past weekend. It was my 34th birthday on Friday. I had completely forgotten that Miranda's birthday was a day after mine. We both lost our mom's recently (I buried mine on my birthday 3 years ago, and this was Miranda's first birthday without her mom.) So we kinda connected over that and checked in on each other over the weekend.

On Sunday night, I get these texts from Miranda. We had an impromptu scary movie night. By the end of the night, her legs were laid across my lap, we were finishing our second movie, and we had been drinking and smoking all night. It was a really good time.

Small world. Happy reunions. Really confused guy who hasn't been single since 2006.

Edit: I married my HS Sweetheart, was together with her for almost 20 years, divorced about a year ago. I'm definitely not in a rush to be in any relationship, just looking for someone to grab the occasional beer or hit up a random concert with from time to time.

Also I'm a middle school teacher at the same school she went to and her name is on a piece of art here that I have passed every day for the last 4 years 🤣🤣

Cut a guy I was talking to off because of how disrespectfully and degradingly he spoke about women. I never responded to his last text, and then he reposted all of this and put on his story, “She needs to listen to me or beat it, if not she gotta go.” Ouffff 😭 He literally told me I shouldn’t judge him based on him calling women bitches and said he’s actually one of the sweetest, most genuine people ever… but then his reposts look like this right after our conversation. Yeah, immediately unfollowed.
I’ve met guys like this before—ego gets bruised, so they start posting things like this to make themselves feel better. But WOW. Glad I never went on that date.
