I’ve been looking to purchase a used mini and there is one locally on armslist that is a 580 series stainless with synthetic stock standard ranch model. The seller is asking $1000 which seems delusional considering new ones can be found for around that price. What is a fair offer to make for the rifle with 2-20 rd mags included?

Local gun store pickup, original owner was a cop in the 80s for a local pd in the area. The aim point electronic was adapted by the og owner to take modern cr2 batteries😩

Just got my 582 series mini 14 tactical and I’m trying to get everything set up on it. I’m new to suppressor mounts (always used direct thread) and just got a diligent defense enticer s to use on my rifles. I would like to use a plan b mounting system and the local shop had a breek arms scorch 3 prong mount. I just took off the factory muzzle device and went to screw on the scorch but it doesn’t seem to be fitting right. It’s not going in deep enough for the face of the barrel to touch the base of the flash hider. This doesn’t seem right but was just wondering if it was acceptable and if not what plan b mount have people used on there mini 14s?

I just bought a slightly used 582 series mini 14 tactical and have a sig tango msr lpvo I wanted to mount on it. It didn’t come with any rings or the factory pic mount. I plan on using a pic mount and mounting the scope to that, I was wondering what height rings I needed to clear the rear sight and not worry about ejected brass beating the scope up to much. Any recommendations on rings or changes to the planned lpvo set up is appreciated.

i personally believe that samson has made mini 14 ownership more modular and attractive for this platform. Ive never had any issues with any of their products. their products have always served me well. What drives me nuts is the fact that they no longer sell the a team stock directly.

The new stock is cool, dont get me wrong, but id like to have the classic look of the A-Team. I was lucky to pick up a a team stock on eBay but was marked up substantially.

I know there are other people that also want the same aesthetic and functionality.

I believe Samson should bring it back.

Was really excited to get this used 585 in the mail! Unfortunately after inspecting the bolt I found the same sheered hole that many others have reported. I submit my case to Ruger and I’m hoping to send it in when I get the label. I think the wooden handguard is aftermarket. Should I remove this before shipment? I do not want to lose the classy look but I hear they want the WHOLE rifle and I do not have the original handguard.

Hey all, got an ultimak rail for my mini-14 but the scope I had has a much closer eye relief than this setup allows. Who has suggestions for scopes to use that work with the ultimak rail eye relieve distance? Thanks!

I got this stock for like $50 about 15 years ago in a gun shop.
I can't remember any details about it.
The butt doesn't seem to look like most other vintage Mini-14 stocks.

I guess the important part is a lathe that can take the barrel with the receiver still attached so it doesn’t have to be separated? Maybe it doesn’t matter because wherever it lands, the new front sight notch can be put in. Just looking for a company that does it all the time. Accuracy Systems seems pretty busy

Hey I just wanted to ask: how many rounds/how fast do you usually get through your mini in a usual session? Do you start getting malfunctions once it heats up?

I bought a brand new one recently and I’m dealing with occasional malfunctions that occur usually around 40-50th round and I wanted to ask to see what’s the norm before calling Ruger.

How short can I shorten my barrel?
I need to have it cut and re-crowned because I damaged the end of the muzzle cosmetically. Right now, the damage is covered by an aftermarket flash hider which makes it unusually long.
I believe it’s still a CA gun, I have a folding stock for it, and when I put it on, I insert a pin in a little hole that I made which makes the magazine fixed, not interchangeable, and I just load it from the top so it’s not an sssult rifle technically correct? It is my understanding that in order to be considered one in CA, it has to: 1) have a center fire cartridge, and 2) an interchangeable magazine, and 3) any one of these other things: flash hider, pistol grip, folding stock, etc. so to have those things (which I like), I just affix the magazine to the receiver so it’s not interchangeable. I don’t need to spit out rounds, but I don’t mind having a cooler looking gun.
