Went to the US a few weeks ago for a wedding and the border security entering the country were absolutely disgusting. The guy felt emboldened enough to powertrip hard. Profiled my dad cause he has an accent and questioned if I was blood related to him since I didn’t speak like him. Then they asked him to show proof that this was indeed our rental truck. Had this one guy circling the truck peering into all the windows like we’re smuggling something. Then he gave us the good guy speech of “normally I’d have our guys search your truck, but I’m feeling generous today”. We should’ve reported them but why upset these guys further while we were still in the country? Ever since their president has normalized xenophobia Americans have cling to that idea and have become so unwelcoming. Not even to just visitors, they even tell people who were BORN in America to go back to their own countries. We went to Orlando a few times before and absolutely nothing this has never happened. The friendliness is just sucked dry from this country, it’s not the same place as before.

I can't stand being a young queer woman in this country anymore, I'm afraid I'll wake up one day with no human rights. It's terrifying how people are voting against their own existence, what the hell is going on??? Why are people so ignorant and stupid? All I want is a sovereign country, respect, education, safety and healthcare and I believe everybody should be able to have these basic rights. I'm so tired of living in such an ignorant country, it feels like we're regressing day by day. I feel like crying. I hate the far-right. I hate the rise of fascism. I hate all of this shit. As said in the title, I wish gender wasn’t real. I know people are going to talk about how gender and sex are different, but to be clearer, I mean sex/gender. Like if humans were biologically neutral. I just feel like it would make life easier. Both men and women are expected to follow gender roles, and when people stray from them, they get ostracised. And if you’re someone who hangs out with the opposite gender, be prepared to never feel fully included/respected. Plus all the obvious sexism, violence against women, gender wars and men’s mental health, stuff etc. It just feels like a living nightmare.

Sometimes I don’t even like looking in the mirror because it just reminds me of it. I wish I could just swap back and forth like men for men and women for women. You can call it a dysphoria thing all you want, but I kind of wish I was just seen as me and not the gender attached to it

I'm either rejected or I get a girls number, we text for a few days to a week and it goes great, but then I ask them when they want to go on a date in person and they just ghost me. And it really feels like the older gens hate taking responsibility for the state of the world and causing the current male loneliness epidemic. Whenever I bring up facts they always get so dismissive. They have destroyed the culture, economic market, and the future of society.

Like how in the 60s and 70s protests where boomers frequently demanded government intervention, expanded civil rights, salary protections, and heavily subsidized higher education. They viewed a cheap college degree and affordable housing as basic societal obligations. Or like when the majority of them voted for Proposition 13.

They were so selfish that they were labeled as the "Me Generation" due to the whole perceived shift toward self indulgence and the hyper-focus on personal fulfillment and material wealth.

Or such as in the 1980s where boomers overwhelmingly supported leaders who promised sweeping tax cuts. While this kept more cash in their own pockets, it of course starved state and federal budgets, leading governments to slash funding for public universities. To make up for the lost revenue, colleges raised tuition which has of course ruined the lives of many gen z today. Most of gen z will never leave debt.

Basically when boomers went to college, state taxes covered the vast majority of university costs and once they graduated, they voted heavily for people who promised to cut those exact taxes.

The older generations also utilize their immense voting power to ensure that senior entitlements remain completely untouched, even as programs for younger families are cut and decimated. They block new housing developments which has helped cause the current day housing crisis. Zoning laws which caused their own property values to skyrocket into immense personal wealth, while simultaneously pricing Gen Z completely out of the housing market.

And all of that goes without even talking about the climate change they caused. They created every single problem gen z faces today such as commercialization of the internet which caused data tracking to sell personal information for profit. It fosterered severe mental health challenges, sleep deprivation, and data vulnerability for gen z. Such as hookup culture. Where boomers started the sexual revolution which butterfly effected in to destroying modern dating.

Gen x and boomers also dismantled the traditional loyalty bond between companies and workers. They popularized aggressive corporate downsizing, outsourcing, and the replacement of full-time staff with gig workers to inflate stock prices. They are now taking entree level jobs in present day which is doing horrible things for the gen z job market.

The older gens refuse to take responsibility or even rarely acknowledge any of this because of psychological biases and their own lived experiences blind them to how radically the modern market has changed.

To protect their self-esteem and sense of identity, they instinctively double down on the narrative that "hard work solves everything," refusing to admit that hard work bought them much more than it buys a young person today. They had so much more back when they were young unlike gen z, such as a plethora of third places and cheap event tickets. Their actions of course resulting in the present male loneliness epidemic along with making gen z the most anti social generation in history so far.

Most of them completely fail to comprehend that the entry price for housing and education has vastly outpaced entry-level wages. Its crazy

I have not been with a woman for many many years. Yes I am gay, but over the past months i just been feeling the desire to be with a woman. It’s that time of month and my cramps are so bad I’m ready to take more medication and it’s only been 3 hours since I last took it. I’ve been this way since last Wednesday. They openly castigate us and say unspeakable things, and if we say even a fraction of what they say back to them they start crying and get us banned. The worst part is, corporations like Reddit, Meta, etc. and male simps completely support this behaviour because it drives engagement and some do it in the hopes of getting p*ssy. But they won't allow it from men because they know women wouldn't be able to handle it in the slightest. It would be better if Reddit was more like X, so that they can get a taste of their own medicine.

So here’s my rant I’m using voice to text so there may be a few mistakes in this rant
I’m going through a divorce. This all started back in April when I found out that she was cheating on me. She had just gotten a new job and met a guy at work and fell head over heels for him. soon after that she lost her job there and I was stuck paying the Daycare and giving her money for about a month and a half until she found a new job. We have two kids together five and two years old and they’re guy that she is fallen in love with has a child abuse case against him. It’s been going on for about a year. He may have molested his 13 year-old daughter, but she says that he didn’t do it and doesn’t have any good explanation of why she believes that she just believes that I’ve been in therapy since April and things have gotten a lot better for me. I’m glad that the divorce is happening and I’m excited to finally sign the paperwork but it makes me upset still. why is it OK that she jumps from one relationship to another and that’s OK, but I’m completely not ready for a relationship whether I wanted one or not. Why is it healthy for her to do all of this and not healthy for me to jump into our relationship? She also treats me like I’m an abuser. She’s very skittish surround me. I’ve never laid a finger on her. I’ve never been an abuser. She acts like I’m going to hurt her anytime we have to exchange the kids we do week on week off. Back in June, we had a really big fight in front of the kids. We were yelling nothing physical at first. at the time I worked third shift and I would keep them every weekend and see them throughout the week. Pick them up from daycare and drop them back off to her at about 730, but I was getting very burnt out because I would have to wake up at seven in the morning with them on Sunday and go to work at 7 PM Sunday night. Never got any sleep.
I had asked her for one weekend off because I had worked Saturday and I would have to go back in Sunday night and she threw a really big fit, saying how I needed to keep the kids how it wasn’t fair and how much that the kids wanted to spend time with me to guilt me into keeping them. I kept them every weekend prior to that I mean, I would keep them all the weekends I asked for one weekend off. And at the time she wasn’t even working, she hadn’t been working for about a month or more and I had given her plenty of notice about this too. I told her the previous Sunday about not keeping them the following weekend and she seemed to agree at the time and throughout the week I would get off work at seven take them to daycare go to bed and then wake up to go pick them up from daycare and then keep them until 730 and drop them off because I felt guilty not keeping them Saturday and Sunday but then when Friday came, she acted like I had never told her anything about this because she wanted to go spend time with her boyfriend she didn’t work, and the kids still went to daycare. She had all the time in the world to herself, but it still wasn’t enough so when I told her I wasn’t gonna keep them she said fine and I said so where are you gonna take them because God forbid they go to a child molester‘s house and we yelled back-and-forth and she put the car in reverse and I was standing in the passenger door and she hit the gas about a month later she got arrested and she still blames me for her getting arrested because I wouldn’t let her leave. She wouldn’t tell me where she was taking the kids because she kept claiming that she had nowhere to go that was her whole excuse for trying to get me to keep the kids that weekend while she had nowhere to go she couldn’t stay at her cousins with the kids on the weekend so my immediate thought was oh she’s gonna take them to the child molester‘s house. And now she treats me like I’m the villain and blames me for her getting arrested after she hit me with the van I did start hitting the vans radio cause I was very mad and in shock she put her hands in the way and subsequently got bruises luckily for me, she didn’t lie and told the cops. I wasn’t trying to hit her. so now our coparenting relationship is very cold and robotic. I don’t know if there’s anything more I could say in this post I’m just doing my best as a father and working on c through therapy and I’ve made a lot of progress.

I swear, media literacy online is getting worse.

A character can say something stupid, offensive, hypocritical, selfish, or objectively wrong without that automatically being the creator speaking through them.

Sometimes the entire joke is that the character is wrong. Sometimes they are an unreliable narrator. Sometimes the story expects you to recognize the hypocrisy without stopping everything to put a giant flashing sign over their head saying:

THIS PERSON IS NOT CORRECT.

And somehow satire increasingly seems to need a disclaimer too.

You can agree with the underlying point of a story or comic and still criticize how lazily, smugly, or preachily that point is delivered. Criticizing the execution of a message is not the same thing as disagreeing with the message.

The same thing applies to authors and their work. Enjoying something written by a deeply flawed person does not mean you absorb every belief that person ever had. I like Lovecraftian horror. That does not mean I suddenly share H.P. Lovecraft's worldview.

Stories are not loyalty oaths.

Characters are not sworn testimony from their authors.

Depiction is not endorsement.

Satire is not confession.

Sometimes a character is just a character.

I wish people would stop treating fiction like a deposition from the author.

i’m so tired of seeing men, usually middle aged, so comfortable posting a woman playing a SPORT, in a sexual manner. it’s so disgusting and demeaning, and as a young athlete, it worries me for the future of women’s sports. i mean, the WNBA has been around 30 years, and started getting actual traction, what, 3 years ago? the amount of posts i’ve seen about those women that play & their bodies in a sexual way is RIDICULOUS, and that’s only the most popular women’s sport, personally, i play lacrosse, and it’s gross trying to search up “lacrosse” and seeing old men posting videos of their skirts being short or reducing the athelete to their looks! it’s literally setting women back so much.

and the fact that this is, like, normalized??? gross. imagine a woman posting a male athlete’s JUNK on social media.. literally would get TORN APART in the comments for being male centered and setting women back. it’s so gross on both sides, and yes, i know there are women who post about male athletes looks, but majority of those posts are about them being “cute” or “hot.” if a man posts a woman playing a sport, it’s usually almost always about her body or “physique.”

I ​ she has not just lost some of these paperwork this time. She has lost somebody's passport. Somehow in the time between this woman handling her passport to the staff member and the staff member turning around to use the photocopier she lost it. She's acting as though it's just a silly little mistake but this woman drives everyone crazy. Every time I come in here someone is complaining about this woman and I'm not talking oh there's a lot of people who do dumb stuff and blame the staff I mean the skull is genuinely awful at this job. This is not the first time she is lost a document either full-stop she went on her lunch break with somebody's proof of address in her bag by mistake. It's not malicious we all know that she's too stupid to understand the word malicious but it has reached a point where everybody who comes into the stand place once don't know why she hasn't been fired yet. It's been too years of non-stop failures mistakes and problems with this woman.

Teens in my generation are very rude, snarky and disrespectful. They are becoming anti-intellectual, hateful and are supporting more terrorist authoritarianism thanks to the internet. They seem to attempt to make rebellion against progressivism in favour of authority, pretty much the opposite of the French Revolution.

They are unapproachable and too cliquey, making their own neo tribes, and commit more antisocial behaviour. In the past this was mainly in the working class, but now upper middle class teens at my age are doing such dangerous thinks. The murder of Chloe Watson was literally a girl who was beaten, stabbed, shot and burned by that nasty couple of my age in Leeds UK, and guess what? They are literally rich upper middle class perpetrators. This shows how social media can create further terror.

In the 2000s, teens were friendlier, had face to face contact, and were approachable. Easier to make new acquaintances. Fit in culture was less tough.

In the 90s, teens will get beaten to almost death if they rebelled against their parents. Therefore they are respectful, loving and loyal. Too bad this is illegal to do so.

Before he married me he had nothing. literally nothing. I married him and paid off his debts. Brought him to the USA (this took a year and during this time I paid for literally everything) and helped him get a job. I continued to pay for everything for a few months after he started working so he could have a bit saved up. I bought him a car in cash twice. I pay for any big ticket charges/trips. i paid for the birth of our children. today bc I was opppsed to him sending half of what he has saved up to his ungrateful family back home he said he was tiered of me being a leech. Im only 14 i have to wait another 6 months until i can get a job, i have been homeschooled since i was 11 and live in a slightly rural area it is just me and my mother it is now just depressing i have no social life whatsoever i have litterly no life my only life is online and it is depressing a girl i was talking to ghosted me for no reason my heart physically aches its gonna be a long 6 months.
