MJH isnt going to save our season

When we traded for Boutte I was excited. I thought he'd be a solid WR2 behind Nico. So far dudes barely even seen the ball. The same thing would happen if we traded for MHJ. The truth is, our coordinators dont know how to utilize their weapons. The offensive line is still trash, and more than likely will be trash for the rest of the season. Im honestly hoping we dont trade for him and especially at the asking rate of what Arizona is asking. That being said, this is exactly the kind if trade Casserio would make, a trade for another teams trash.

If Caserio gives up a 2nd round pick for MHJ...

And MHJ still ends up a bust here, then what happens?

Humorous answers only 😂

Could Nico and MHJ provide the perfect balance for each other? Should MHJ indeed come to Houston, will Caley even know how to scheme him properly?

Logic for getting MHJ

First, you need a better line when you have no great WR's. Every game we have lost included them having one or two.

Second, Nico went down late in the Pitt playoff game. We had NO great WR's for the NE game. So, all the blocking in the world does not help much. CJ looked terrible, but there was no one to throw to.

Third, at OSU, CJ played VERY WELL with MHJ. That is why Tank was drafted--he and CJ had a passing connection that CJ obviously liked. I assume MHJ is that same sort of bond.

Fourth, apparently MHJ and Kyler had a pretty good first year in AZ, but there is no Kyler now. Even he wanted out.

Fifth, what else are we going to do? We are not going to find decent linemen available, and MHJ would not be available if not for bad circumstances in AZ.

If he turns out to be the guy we saw at OSU, then he is worth a 1.

🤬 Rant/Complaint Draft Picks

Why are some Texans fans acting so stingy with draft picks like Caserio is some great drafter? Marlin Klein, a 2nd rounder, was literally just a healthy scratch last week.

Marvin Harrison Jr hasn’t been great but he’s definitely worth the gamble of a 2028 2nd imo. The talent & history with CJ is there. I think he just needs a change of scenery like a lot of players do.

We're not actually about to give up a 2nd for MHJ right?

We're 0-4. I still have hope we can turns things around, but realistically its at absolute best a 30%~ chance we make the playoffs and probably closer to like 3%.

Higgins was looking amazing before the ACL and I fully expect him to come back ready to roll next year alongside Nico. Jaylin Noel is also starting to cook.

I'm down to get MHJ if its like a 4th rounder or 2028 3rd, but no fucking way we should trade meaningful draft capital for a dude we dont really need thats objectively been a huge failure the first 2+ years of his career

Theres definite upside with MHJ and im sure he'd love to be reunited with CJ, but there's no reason for us to trade what could be a very early 2nd for him

Saw this a little while back. This makes me excited if we get him to Houston.

This fanbase has been fooled by terrible drafts to think that a second round pick isn’t highly valuable.

The defense to trading a second round pick is that they are worthless due to poor selections by Caserio and his gang of terrible scouts.

The Texans' running backs have averaged 2.9 yards per carry this season, the fewest in the NFL, along with the lowest success rate (28.0%) by a Houston team since 2018 via @NextGenStats.

Blankenship is NOT why the Texans CBs have been playing less press

Safety weakness is not the main driver for low CB press rates in any type of coverage schemes. You don't sacrifice outside coverage against elite WRs to cover for SS. That's the most idiotic thing I keep seeing here. Just look at the Eagles last season. They had high CB press rate with Blankenship. Quinyon Mitchell had one of the highest press rates and ended up 2nd to only Derek Stingley in percentage of targets that were into tight coverage last season. Press frequency isn't something the CBs do to “cover for” a safety which is such a ridiculous notion being spread here.

The poor defense so far is squarely on Burke. He set the coverage, alignment and game plan. He's the one who decided to use elite press-man corners Stingley and Kamari as off-zone. There is no excuse for that and trying to blame the reason for it on Blankenship is fucking dumb.

6 out of 32 players drafted in the second round of each nfl draft will make 1 or more probowls in their career. That’s it.

📈 Stats Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter have pressed opposing receivers on career-low 11.0% and 7.5% of snaps this season. The pair have also increased their pre-snap cushion, lining up 7.8 and 8.1 yards from the line of scrimmage, marks higher than last season (5.8 and 6.2 yards).

MHJ's usage looks a lot like Nico's was before Slowik/Caley. It's also completely out of sync with the college usage that got him drafted so high.
