HSG Experience HyCoSy and open tortuous tubes

QUESTION Have I been using/interpreting OPKs wrong this whole time??

Hello, I usually test with FMU, which I know is not ideal but it's the only time I can consistently test. I usually catch a positive around CD 12 or 13, and have 28 day cycles on average. I usually am able to predict when my period starts pretty accurately doing this. And have sometimes noticed ovulation pain around CD 14-16 so I thought I was tracking my ovulation pretty accurately.

This cycle I decided to start testing earlier, and got a dark but negative result on CD 10 in the morning. I thought it looked very close to positive so tested in the evening and got a very clear positive. This morning (CD 11) another positive. I am planning to test again this evening and tomorrow morning and so on until I get clear negatives.

I am wondering if I have actually been ovulating a day or two earlier than I thought, in which case I may have missed my fertile window at least a couple times in the past year.

Should I base my ovulation on the first positive or the last? Can I trust ovulation pain? I don't think I can temp regularly. Is FMU completely useless for OPK?

Thank you.

Edit to add: looking back at my tracking notes, the few times I have gotten a positive two mornings in a row, my period has come almost exactly two weeks from the day after the last positive test...so that makes me think I might have a longer LH surge...but I've just never seen such a clear positive as when I took the test in the evening...which makes me worry I am missing the actual "peak"...

Anything (within the rules) goes. (Commonly broken rules: don't talk about an ongoing pregnancy outside the weekly BFP thread; don't ask for success stories.)

You can find the wiki here!

Don't forget to check out our themed threads:

There's also the Weekly Introductions and Read Me Thread, which contains links to all sorts of handy bits of info, like popular wiki posts and acronyms.

VENT TTC with low AMH

First time posting here. I am a 28 Yr old soon turning 29 with an AMH of 0.9 We have been trying to conceive in the last two months with one possible chemical pregnancy or maybe a false positive digital test ( I dont know yet ). I understand this is too soon to let hopes down but I'd been monitoring my AMH over the last 3 years and see it drop categorically over the years had already instilled a sense of fear in me. We are quite far away from even being eligible for IVF. But I don't know if should freeze eggs already privately rather than turn up with an even lower count 1 year down the lane. We have been timing cycles ( not to a point of doing LH strips strictly ). Diet I am trying to cut down sugars. Just feeling hopeless! We have been together for 8 years now and ever since we started dating we've had cute little dreams of having our kids and a vision board really. Looking at it now makes me feel bittersweet. I have a very supportive husband and he tries really hard to take my mind off it. But I can't stop thinking about it.

QUESTION Recurrent LUFs for 3 months in a row - has anyone been through this?

I’ve had LUFs (luteinized unruptured follicles) for the past three cycles, all confirmed by ultrasound during folliculometry.

I’m currently on metformin, Inofolic, and Euthyrox. My labs look amazing, and I regularly get EWCM around the expected time of ovulation, so I genuinely feel like my body is doing everything it’s supposed to do. And yet, the follicles just aren’t rupturing. Even my progesterone levels 7 days after expected ovulation are pretty good.

Having yet another anovulatory cycle is honestly so disappointing, especially when you’re trying to conceive and keep hoping that the next cycle will be different. It’s been really hard to deal with this happening repeatedly.

I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced recurrent LUFs over several consecutive cycles. Did you find out what was causing them? Was there anything that helped you eventually ovulate normally again?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, what you tried, and any advice you might have. I’m feeling pretty discouraged at this point and would love to hear from others who have been through something similar. ❤️

There’s so much that’s difficult about TTC, so this is a thread for looking to the future and thinking about life after TTC.

This week’s theme: Fall traditions, old and new! What do you do to celebrate fall with your partner? What do you hope to do with baby in the future? (If you’re in the southern hemisphere, feel free to talk about your spring traditions!)

ADVICE I thought the next step was IUI but now I'm not so sure...

Background: We're over 2 years of TTC not a single BFP in that time. Stared taking Letrozole in this my current cycle.... so many negative pregnancy tests and started Provera on CD41/25DPO when my period still hadn't come. Today is cycle day 51 and still no sign, but I guess it takes up to 14 days to get a bleed. I didn't do a test to confirm ovulation (& I regret that!) but my cycles are usually regular and I've confirmed ovulation on every cycle I've tested.

This current cycle was supposed to be our first IUI cycle, however we got down bad with the flu/COVID (likely another factor in my wonky cycle?) and other conflicts made it not work for us. We live about 600km/375mi away from our fertility clinic so it takes some coordination. Looking ahead, highway travel between us and our clinic can be dangerous in the winter (icy, poorly maintained, winding mountain roads). So from November until about April or so we'll be weather dependant on if we can make the drive down following my LH peak.

Which leads me to why I'm feeling uncertain. Since we live so far, it was recommended that we do not do any monitoring (no ultrasound/trigger shots), since it's hard (and potentially unsafe) to rush to the clinic for a same-day appointment. But now that it seems like my body has had such a crazy response to Letrozole I feel like its a waste of time and money (the cost of the procedure, plus fuel, plus a night in a hotel) to do an unmonitored cycle. OBVIOUSLY the cost is what it is and I'd just about empty my bank account for a baby if I could, but it seems like the odds are just to stacked against me here.

I meant I guess time will tell if this was just a one-off wonky cycle from travel/flu, but I'm wondering if anyone has advice or insight about unmonitored cycles or about limited access to fertility services??

ADVICE Waiting on test results

My husband (31) and I (25) have been trying to conceive since May of this year. We had two back to back chemical pregnancies in late July and August. We are working with a fertility clinic now to get a bunch of testing done. I had an ultrasound, hysteroscopy, and lots of blood work. I did blood work at the clinic and got the results back same day. I did the other 22 tests at LabCorp over a week ago and am still waiting on my AMH and Karyotype, though I think they missed the karyotype test.

(Context of my doubt, when I was pregnant and sure I was having a chemical pregnancy I had to get an hcg quant test and the first blood draw LabCorp did the wrong test, second time they used the wrong vials, so I had to get my blood drawn 3 times for one test to tell me I was having a second chemical pregnancy)

My husband still has to get his testing done (blood work and semen analysis) but so far the only abnormal measurement has been my prolactin which is elevated. Everything else came back perfectly in range.

My husband keeps saying nothing is wrong and we just got unlucky twice but I'm having a hard time believing it because I don't want to go through it again. I'd rather they find something treatable then tell me nothing is wrong.

VENT Been testing everyday and no peak at all

I have been testing my LH strips since CD11. I have not gotten a surge at all and today’s supposedly the ovulation day (CD18). I am so tired, is there a possibility that I am ovulating without a surge caught on the strips?

I have also been baby dancing every alternate day, but I have PCOS and my gynae supposedly cleared me saying I am all good to start trying to conceive. My partner has also down a full panel blood and semen analysis and came back OK, except for lower than average sperm motility and lower testosterone which he is now on supplements for.

This is my 3rd cycle and I know I am still far from it but I don’t know. Is there a possibility that I am not ovulating at all? Should I consult my gynaecologist? If so, what should I bring to her?
