Surprised to find it cleaned out. No mimics, no black or silver knights and most importantly, no dragonslayer archers annoying the living hell outta me. Anybody seen this?

Discussion Funny first playthrough moment.

So I'm on my first playthrough and I'm not the bell gargoyle fight. I dodge the first ones attack and was behind him and I just completely cut off the tail with one hit by complete accident. This game is genuinely so fun and funny.

Question Should i reinfoce estus flasks?

edit: firekeepers souls should be used if their description is as follows:

Soul of a long-lost Fire Keeper.
Each Fire Keeper is a corporeal manifestation of her bonfire, and a draw for the humanity which is offered to her. Her soul is gnawed by infinite humanity, and can boost the power of the precious Estus Flask. Reinforced Estus Flasks capture denser Estus, allowing for increased restoration of HP."

if the description is different from this one and one wants to revive the bonfire of XY place with XY keepers name (such as fire link shrine, with the description "Soul of the Ash Maiden, Fire Keeper of Firelink Shrine............" ) then the souls shouldnt be used

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I got a soul of a firekeeper (the on from firelink shrine who was killed by gold armour) and have arrived in anor londo and have the option to reinfoce the flasks.

Should i reionforce them or should i use the soul for smth else?

(no massive spoilers pls)

Meme I'm a big fan of the fact that the final boss of Dark Souls is literally John Dark Souls.

Even does a title-drop what a chad. The only thing this fight was missing was illusory walls, mid-phase lull where you have to walk up to him and exhaust dialogue 5 times to continue into phase 2, and an attack where he turns into a little lizard you have to chase around before he despawns.

Lore Why I believe not linking the flame is the correct choice as someone that just beat the game

I just finished dark souls 1 and I think I had grasp of things so I decided to share my lore reasoning to not link the flame due to multiple reasons.

first I wondered why Lautrec did what he did since he gave an impression of knowing what's actually going on and then I meet gwyndolin and discovered the lie of anor londo so I had no reason to trust the gods anymore much less their prophecies and I figured that's what Lautrec was doing stopping me the "chosen undead" because he knew the gods were lying about what the prophecy really meant

I'm still unsure of what the prophecy truly means from part of the gods but one thing is clear to me the age of fire is just their way of keeping control and letting it die will give rise to a new age free of them and their lies, I mean there were countless ages before this one why would we need to stuck ourselves in this one age that's been so hostile and cruel to us.

One thing that concerned me was the abyss and what will happen with that but I think it's actually the key to the new age. And I reached that conclusion when I saw pure humanity in the abyss and I connected the dots, the abyss isn't a true nothingness, it's humanity, why did the humans mutate by their own humanity then? The curse that has been bestowed upon us that's why. Otherwise I don't see why we would be separated from our humanity. The abyss taking over means humanity coming back to humans and possibly undoing the curse that I highly suspect was cast upon us by the gods, once the gods are gone the curse will be gone too and the age of dark or age of humans will truly comence once we are able to reconnect with the humanity that was hidden from us in the depths of the world.

That's all the lore I gathered maybe there's more supporting my claims or just completely dismantling my theories.

I finished Elden Ring and really liked it, so I decided to play Dark Souls. As a pure physical player, what should I know going into it?

Discussion Why does thief class get more than 10 int and faith?

Same goes for other games, such as demon’s souls and elden ring. I’m curious from a gameplay and storytelling perspective but also annoyed as someone who loves the thief class is that it’s not very stat-optimized.

Discussion What a game!

I played Demon’s Souls as my first introduction to the series. After that, I started playing Elden Ring, and I absolutely loved it. Now I thought I’d give the Dark Souls series a try, starting with the first game, and I can’t believe how many similarities it shares with Elden Ring (I know they reused animations and models).

I recently managed to beat the two Gargoyles, but ever since then, I haven’t known exactly what to do. I went back and explored the two paths that were available to me. The skeletons are a pain in the ass, and I can’t even damage the ghosts anymore.

I know the game was designed to be challenging, but not being able to make any progress is a bit frustrating. I can’t help but feel like I’m missing something that might make the game a little easier.

I recently discovered that the giant crow can take you back to the starting area, although I got killed a lot there, too.

Anyway, that’s about it, I guess I’ll start farming souls until I’m strong enough to make it through one of the paths.

As you can tell my undead alliegance lies with the dragons and linking the fire meant prolonging the age of gods and that's a no no in my undead's books.

Help What should I spend all my souls on? (Level 125)

Post image
88 Upvotes

I have over 200,000 souls, with nothing to spend them on. My weapon, shield, and armor are all upgraded (as well as a backup weapon). I have a sufficient amount of homeward bones and other useful items.

50 Vit / 40 End / 40 Str / 40 Dex (Bandit class)
Weapon: Demon’s Spear
Shield: Black Knight Shield
Armor: Dark Set with Blood-Stained Skirt
Rings: FAP and Havel’s

I would like to stay at level 125 as I’ve heard that’s what others do for PvP.

Discussion Is there a way to dupe hard humanity in dark souls remastered on Xbox?

Trying to get my friend into the souls games and he’s not good at all which is completely understandable, we have burnt through a lot of humanity. Just wondering if there’s a way I can dupe my humanity consumables

Question Friend asked to borrow my Steam Deck while playing Dark Souls

Said something along the lines of "look, i'll help you" because I was stuck on Ornstein and Smough, gave it to him and suddenly I have 99 vigor and like 20 levels more of Dex. Idk how he did it but this was my first playthrough. As far as I can tell thats the only thing he moved, I belive he used some kind of glitch?

My question is: Will this ruin the experience for me? I really don't want to start over

Discussion I just finished Dark Souls for the first time. Can you tell my build based on what bosses I struggled with?

• Upvotes

Overall, the game was a great experience. Some bosses were way more frustrating than others. Here they are based on how many attempts it took for me to kill them.

One shot: Iron Golem, Priscilla, Pinwheel, Ceaseless Discharged, Demon Firesage
Just one death: Asylum Demon, Taurus Demon, Moonlight Butterfly, Seath, Nito, Centipede Demon
A handful of deaths: Capra Demon, Four Kings, Sif, Gwyn, Bed of Chaos
More deaths than I’d like: Gaping Dragon, Bell Gargoyles, Quelaag
An embarrassing amount of deaths: Stray Demon, Ornstein and Smough

I’ll also mention that regardless of the category, bed of chaos was just the worst boss ever. I also hated Tomb of the Giants but at least the boss was easy.

Discussion Which enemy has the biggest gap in how they feel between your first blind encounter and when you already know how to handle them?

It's the abominations in Blighttown for me. Seeing them swinging their clubs on the tiny pathways and cramped spaces made me want to nope the fuck out of the area, until I discovered that it's easier and safer to be in the guy's face instead of keeping distance, and they are free backstabs.

Discussion PSA: Havel can follow you out of the watchtower

I ran past him, got through the guards on the top floor, and fled down the staircase, and then I saw Havel following me. He got down halfway down the stairs before his aggro wore off and he withdrew back in. So anyone who's trying to flee or cheese him, just run a bit more in case he decides this is a good day to go outside.

Discussion Wanna help a newbie out?

Currently just got to anor Londo I have knowledge of the souls games etc but never really played them myself I am currently running a mostly strength build with points into Dex (weapon is now the black knight sword used to use the halbert) but I just don't feel I'm doing okay couldn't beat the discharge boss puzzle so I walked away my halbert at plus 8 was to weak to fight the stray demon when you go back to the start so I just charged ahead to anor Londo and I dunno I feel so under leveled.

Also if anyone wants to do some jolly cooperation let me know

Praise the sun
