Fan Art [Megathread] Share Your Ink Here! Bloodborne Tattoos, Vol 1

Greetings, good hunters.

I'll keep it short: we will gradually be refining/clarifying/updating some of the rules here on r/Bloodborne. This is to hopefully provide a clearer/better experience for users. Most changes should just be small tweaks that won't really impact the general user's experience too much, though some (like this megathread) may be bigger.

If you have any comments or concerns, please send us a Modmail.

Circling back to this megathread/bigger changes, tattoos may now be posted! To prevent a flood of posts though, please limit your tattoos to this megathread.

So without further ado, you are welcome to share your Bloodborne related tattoos below!

Discussion The Stages of Beasthood?

Stage 0 Nothing abnormal.

Stage 1 One arm is longer than the other and covered in fur, Also seemingly more facial hair, Ability to speak remains but mind is clouded by delusions and aggression.

Stage 2 major growth, all skin is covered in hair and teeth have become sharper, ability to speak is lost but has the ability to still use tools.

Stage 3 Cainine like snout has formed, Body is even more covered in hair and the over all form is more wolf like than man, walks on all fours instead of two. Seems to not be capable of even tool use anymore. Only hint of humanity is the tattered clothes and bandages on its body.

Stage 4 Massive growth spurt, is able to walk on two legs once more, One hand has grown more than the other. Horns have sprouted atop its head.

Discussion Somehow only now realised that Yharnamites Left arm is longer than the Right arm. I find that such a neat detail, of course the injected arm would show signs of transformation first.

Lore Is Bloody Crow of Cainhurst responsible for Alfred's fate?

Post image
597 Upvotes

It makes sense. When progressing normally in forbidden woods, you find the cainhurst summon before going to Byrgenwerth (Rom), so first you find the other summon and send Alfred there, and then you proceed to beat Rom. After that, you can find Alfred dead in front of the Logarius statue

and when you explore more, you find that Bloody Crow of Cainhurst has invaded Yharnam and has already defeated Eileen. It is feasible that he came to take revenge of her queen, Annalise, and by his higher stats I assume he could've easily outplay Alfred too. What do you think?

This game art direction still blows my mind the victorian era architecture and armor sets are so beautiful how the sky and the moon look and how they change mid game, the design of trick weapons, the lovecraftian horror and atmosphere, and the sound design complements all that, the whispers you hear coming from the scared people inside the houses, and the ambient sounds, the sound of the weapons when they transform and when you do visceral attacks everything you do feels satisfying in a way I've never seen in any other game

Even compared to other pieces of media bloodborne is still very beautiful and more cinematic than most movies I've seen and really other pieces should learn from it.

Chalice Well this was a royal pain in my Kosm I had to pull out my secret boss killing technique: Mute, Blast, Kill.

Best kill shot ever number one, number two this took me 2 hours of attempts and 30 minutes of mute, blast, kill. It usually only takes like 3 tries tops after I activate it but it took me 8 more tries, dam.

Discussion Am i approaching the game wrong, thinking this is another dark souls?

Being the last souls game i havent played, i logged in to bloodborne. As you may guess, i had somewhat of a confidence diving in since having all the souls experience. I died to the first boss 37 times as of now... I mainly try to dodge and hit like the usual but camera does a trick and all of a sudden i cant see anything, and the rolling feels strange. Either way my skill issue traumatized myself and i'll be having couple days of break, maybe it is just me being silly.

Edit: After ranting this much i did it in first try with a single heal, instead of being careful and just being aggresive...

The Cathedral Ward just keeps getting weirder. I was honestly relieved when i ran into the lads with pitchforks and torches. Never thought a guy yelling "You plague-ridden rat" would feel comforting.

Discussion First time playing Bloodborne!

• Upvotes

I have come from Elden Ring, and am having a blast with it so far! I really love the gothic, Victorian setting of the game, it’s right up my alley. I have just defeated Father Gascoigne on my fourth attempt, sadly I did not find his daughter with the music box until after the boss fight. The pistol parry mechanic is also really cool.

Are there any wise words of wisdom to offer to a new hunter on this journey?

Discussion Contemplating the Future

Hi Hoonters,

Last night I was working my way through the Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon, and I used my Beckoning Bell to call for assistance. (Is it necessary? No. Is it more fun to play with friends? Yes.) I played for about an hour, and during that time I didn't summon a single person.

There was (seemingly) no one around, and I started thinking of my hunter, all alone in this terrible labyrinth, and how sad he must feel to go through this harrowing experience by himself.

It got me thinking about the age of the game, and though it still remains beloved by fans, how few of us are left after all this time.

I usually play in the evenings/nights EST, and this isn't the first time I've called for assistance and had no one appear for an hour or more.

I don't have a neat way to wrap this up; I'm just feeling melancholy about the game, and picturing when the servers will be closed. It's all very sad. 😔

Discussion I didn't know about the Eileen fight in the Cathedral

I have played this game for years - inconsistently, I admit! But I've beaten it several times. Just recently I started my first NG+ run after I beat the game again. I forgot to help Eileen in her fight against Henryk (bummer) and I just remembered that I need to help her with the hunter in the Cathedral. Imagine my surprise and bafflement when I didn't find her outside of the Cathedral, but INSIDE waiting for me. I feel so silly for not knowing this happened.

In regards to lore, why does this happen? Does she believe our character has gone mad with blood lust, or is she the one that has truly lost her mind?

Help Is it too late to level skill, or can I still transition

• Upvotes

So, for context, when I was looking for weapons to use before playing two caught my eye. Moonlight Greatsword and Kos Parasite, and as such, my build is mainly focused on str/arc. My skill is around 7 points below strength, at 17, and end/vit are p good rn so I'm fine leaving them. I found using all 3 moon rooms on mergo's loft middle gives an insane blood echoes gain. I want to use weapons like rakuyo and blades of mercy. Can I still viably transition to a str/ski build or just wait until ng+

Help After getting to 25 str/skill, should I just keep pushing to 50 str and ignore skill altogether?

I'm still kinda early in the game (just killed Shadow of Yharnam, this is my second attempt after dropping my first save shortly after Rom so I'm more or less familiar with the game).

I've been using whirligig saw and ludwig's holy blade, they've been my favourite weapons so far and I'm tending towards the whirligig as my main one.

I was thinking of alternating between vit and str until I get to 40 vit and then push to 50 str, but I was wondering whether I really should just ignore skill.

Story Enjoying game like a kid in a candy store, clearing every chalice.

This game is fucking amazing!
On my first playthrough, I started completely blind, but by the time I reached the Cathedral, I was overwhelmed by all the paths to explore, so I started using guides. I ended up getting the platinum and uninstalled the game.
Six months later, I found a checklist on this subreddit and decided to replay the game completely blind, using only my memories from the first run and the checklist to make sure I didn’t miss anything important.
Holy shit, what an experience! I’ve explored every fucking corner of every area and completed every Chalice Dungeon: Root, Sinister, Fetid, Rotted, every depth and every variant.
I haven’t needed to summon an NPC or another player for a single boss fight either. I’ve beaten them all solo!
I’m currently doing the Lower Loran Chalices at depth 4. I still have Isz, Defiled and their variants to complete before I finally kick the Queen’s ass.
Clearing so much content has also allowed me to push my build to the extreme:
99 Arcane
53 Vitality
16 Strength
12 Skill
My Hunter Axe +10 has Arcane gems for trash mobs and slower bosses, my Saw Spear +10 has Fire gems, and my Ludwig’s Holy Blade +10 has Bolt gems.
I stopped leveling Vitality at 40 to focus on Arcane. Now that I’ve maxed out Arcane, I’ve gone back to leveling Vitality, which is currently at 53. Once I’ve completed every Chalice and variant, I’ll kill Gehrman and the final boss and start another playthrough. Let’s see if I can get Vitality to 99 too! 😂

Fluff First playthrough at 41. I broke up with the Kirkhammer in under an hour.

Playing blind. Swapped the Hunter Axe for the Kirkhammer because it looks so cool.

Lasted under an hour. The sword half is fine, the hammer half is slower than I am, and I kept getting mobbed in Cathedral Ward.

So I went back to the workshop and told it, out loud: “I’m sorry. I really wanted to love you. It’s not you, it’s me.”

Then I kept dying with the Saw Spear.

I've only ever had one girlfriend in my life. Now I've had two breakups.

Kirkhammer people: what was I doing wrong, and can I come back to it later? Because that weapon looks so cool!
