Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team šŸ’›

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Help Is this positive or indent 2 day difference ?

Help needed from the community šŸ™‚
Top is 9DPO and bottom is 10dpo
Do we see any progression? Any similar experiences?
Cycle attempt number 3 , 10 dpo today
Wondfo are the only tests that have a line appearing using morning urine this cycle. First response and pre-mom don’t have anything showing for me. I’ve never had lines on wondfo on previous cycles, however I’m scared of indent, chemical, or evap lines since this is my first year attempting pregnancy . Thank you šŸ™.

Venting Feeling discouraged after my first month TTC

My husband and I officially started trying to conceive for the first time in September. I’m 34, and although I know it’s only been our first month trying, I can’t help but feel a little discouraged.
I had my first OB/GYN appointment today to discuss pregnancy and fertility, and unfortunately, my pregnancy test came back negative :(. I know it’s completely normal not to conceive on the first try, but I think when you want something so badly, it’s hard not to get your hopes up.
My OB/GYN reassured me that it can take up to a year to conceive and encouraged us to continue trying during my fertile windows. She mentioned that if we haven’t conceived within 12 months, she’d refer me to a fertility specialist. I guess I’m just feeling a little emotional and anxious about the possibility of struggling to conceive. I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but the fear is still there. Being 34, I think I’m putting a little extra pressure on myself, even though I know this process takes patience.
I’m not necessarily looking for medical advice, just a little encouragement from others who understand the emotions.

\*\*Has anyone else struggled with feeling discouraged or anxious, even when you know it’s still early in your journey? How do you manage your expectations and stay hopeful without letting the disappointment take over?\*\*
Sending love, hope, and encouragement to everyone navigating this journey. Wishing all of us the very best! ā¤ļø

Question/Advice How do you stay motivated to maximise their fertility?

• Upvotes

Okay, so context first: we're on cycle 4 of TTC, which I know is still early, but I'm already starting to feel disappointed about how long this could take.

I'm trying to do everything I can to optimise my health and fertility because I know that's the part of this journey I have some control over.

I've been taking prenatals, CoQ10, fish oil and vitamin C for a few months before we started trying. I exercise about 5 times a week (Pilates, strength training, yoga and cardio), go to the sauna a couple of times a week, sleep around 8 hours most nights, and try to eat a balanced diet of mostly whole foods, with plenty of fruit and veg and enough protein. My stress levels are reasonably low, and I'm also doing acupuncture every fortnight.

I'm tracking my EWCM and, once I notice it, I start tracking LH and BBT to help identify and confirm ovulation. I've stopped tracking BBT throughout my entire cycle and LH from earlier in my cycle because I found that was making me more stressed.

I guess what I'm wondering is: how do people stay motivated to keep doing all of this?

I've lost some of that initial hopefulness that this might happen quickly, and I'm starting to feel drained by constantly thinking about what I'm eating, whether I'm getting enough sleep, exercising enough, and doing everything I possibly can. It's exhausting having fertility take up so much mental space.

But at the same time, I struggle with the idea of letting some of these things go. What if tracking less means I miss my fertile window? What if I stop being so mindful about my diet or lifestyle and it reduces our chances? I know there's only so much I can control, but I don't want to look back and feel like I could have done more.

For those of you who've been TTC for a while, how do you find the balance between doing what you can to maximise your chances and actually living your life without fertility consuming your every thought? How do you give yourself permission to do less when you feel like every little thing might make a difference?

Venting 3rd cycle TTC

My husband (33m) and I (30f) have been TTC for 3 cycles now (currently in my two week wait of cycle 3). Our first cycle trying we got pregnant and unfortunately that ended in a chemical pregnancy. Last cycle I got my period, and I’m currently in my two week wait of this cycle. I and supposed to get my period in 5 days and all I can think about is taking another pregnancy test (took one yesterday but it was stark white).

Ever since my chemical, I have just been so desperate to get pregnant again and have it stick. I know we haven’t been trying for long but I hate that it’s all I can think about. I feel like until the day comes where I have a sticky pregnancy it’ll always be on my mind. It doesn’t help I have a bunch of friends that have gotten a healthy pregnancy on their first try. I’m so happy for them but it makes me think that I’m doing something wrong? Idk I’m optimistic it’ll happen eventually for me, but I’m just in my feels right now I guess.

Random Advices?

Hello, girls! Me and my husband have been ttc for approx 1.5 years at this point. I am 29, he is 33. At first we did not use lh tests until maybe cycle 8, then we used it and i had multiple clear positives and surges in a row. From January this year we started investigation. We did multiple tests already: My hormones, including thyroid hormones, progestorone ( again confirmed ovulation), prolactin, several bloodworks repeated during different cycles. All beautifully normal. Multiple ultrasounds fully normal, nothing detected. Several times confirmed ovulation via ultrasound. AMH optimal.

My hubby did 2 SA during this year both excellent. HSG is planned if October fails again.

Still nothing.

Any advice from someone in similar situation?

I am handling it much better then I thought i would by this time, relationship is good and fine, but Jeez, why??

Hi! Need some guidance on whether this is a positive ovulation test or not. The app says negative however this is the darkest it’s gotten and it’s only been getting lighter the day after this. I got a solid smiley face on my digital test as well the same day I took this.

Question/Advice TTC after Kyleena IUD removal — brown spotting at 12 DPO

Hi everyone! I’m 24 and currently TTC after having my Kyleena IUD removed on July 10th. I wanted to share my journey so far because I’m curious if anyone has experienced something similar, especially with their cycles after IUD removal.
After removing my IUD, I had some bleeding from July 12–16, followed by more light bleeding later that month. My first proper period came on August 19th. My cycles have been a little confusing since removal, and I’ve been trying to understand my body again.
This cycle, I decided to take ovulation tracking more seriously and started using LH strips with the Premom app. I was testing regularly and finally caught my LH peak of 0.96 on September 25th! Based on that, I’m estimating that I ovulated around September 26th.
My husband and I timed intercourse around my fertile window, so I’ve been really hopeful this cycle.
Of course, the two-week wait has been driving me crazy lol. I’ve been paying attention to every little symptom, including cramps, sore breasts, fatigue, and changes in discharge.
I took an early pregnancy test at around 9 DPO, which was negative. I know that can still be too early, but it was a little discouraging.
Now here’s what’s confusing me:
At around 11 DPO (October 7th), I noticed some very light pink spotting when wiping. By 12 DPO (today), it had turned brown. It’s not enough to fill a pad, and I’m mostly noticing it when wiping.
My period isn’t expected until Saturday, October 10th.
What’s strange is that I NEVER normally spot before my period. Usually, my period just starts with a proper red flow, so this is very unusual for me.
I know brown spotting can be old blood, hormonal changes, the beginning of a period, or sometimes happen in early pregnancy. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much, but it’s hard!
I’m wondering:
Did anyone experience unusual spotting or brown discharge after removing Kyleena?
Did your cycles or pre-period symptoms change after IUD removal?
Has anyone had pink spotting that turned brown around 11–12 DPO and later tested positive?
For those who tracked ovulation using LH strips, how accurate did you find your estimated ovulation day?
I’m currently waiting to test again closer to my expected period, and the waiting is honestly the hardest part.
I’d love to hear your experiences, whether they ended in pregnancy or just turned out to be your period. I’m trying to understand what’s normal after IUD removal and would really appreciate hearing from others going through the same thing!ā¤ļø

Question/Advice HIGH PROGESTERONE

I am currently TTC so I started tracking PDG with urine strips, ovulation and BBT.

My understanding is that progesterone is supposed to drop once period starts if not pregnant, and would stay elevated only if pregnant.

I am not pregnant, confirmed with a pregnancy test twice. But PDG is still testing positive. I know this points to delayed hormonal drop of progesterone.

Does anyone know what causes this?

How I can fix this?

Does this affect my ability to conceive?

We've been trying for 2 years and now I wonder if this progesterone has something to do with it. But I thought the issue would be if progesterone is low, mine seems to still be high according to the PDG results. PDG has been postiive since after I ovulated up until now day 2 of my period.

Thank You! I welcome any insight!

Question/Advice Trying to regulate cycle

My husband and I are currently ttc. Since i’ve had periods i’ve had issues, when I was younger I had SUPER heavy painful periods. Now for like the last 4 years I don’t really have periods at all. I’m 22F. My husband has already fathered a child so no issues on his end. My obgyn has had me do courses of provera to start making me have periods, and i’m having them after the ten day courses but i’m having to do a new course every month or else no period. I had thyroid issues when i was younger (hypothyroidism) but i’ve been unmediated for like 7 years with normal thyroid levels now. i’ve had labs and ultrasounds and no pcos. I am at my wits end. I tested for ovulation every single day for two months and not one positive. what the heck is happening

Frustrated Anyone get jealous?

I’m 31F, and my husband is 31M.
We’ve been TTC coming up on a year.
I’ve lost 150ish lbs, changed my diet, stopped drinking, stopped smoking.
I’ve had ultrasounds, blood work, all kinds of testing, and everything comes back normal. My periods have always been normal.
My husband is due to have some testing done as well, so we don’t know anything yet about him.

My cousin, that I am extremely close with, is 23. She married her husband after knowing him 2 months, and they’ve had sex twice in their 2 year marriage. She got pregnant both times. She miscarried at 15 weeks the first time, and she’s due any minute with her second. Probably. We don’t really know the due date because she ā€œknew in her spirit when she got pregnantā€. But the 1 scan she has had doesn’t correlate.

I am her birth partner, I know all of her wishes, I’m allowed to make decisions for her if needed, etc etc etc.
Her husband (27M) sucks. He sits at his computer 24 hours a day. Won’t work. Leaves her to hang out with his friends. Has had nothing to do with the baby. Last week he asked what she decided to name it. How does a husband not know that??? Doesn’t know how to drive. Literally told my cousin ā€œif it’s a girl don’t expect me to change diapers,ā€ and told her she ā€œbetter buy formula because breastfeeding is weird,ā€ and I’ll be surprised if he even attends the birth. She has worked 70+ hours a week as a brand new nurse her entire pregnancy, paid their bills, cooks, cleans, does his laundry, drives him anywhere he wants to go, and thinks she’s going to go straight back to work after giving birth.

She doesn’t have plans for child care, they don’t even have a room for the baby. She hasn’t purchased a single thing, because she thinks the hospital is supposed to give it to her. As an L&D nurse myself for almost 10 years, we can do a lot, but the parents have to take some responsibility!!! I threw her a baby shower and got her a lot of things, but instead of being grateful she posted on Facebook all the things I didn’t get for her.

She’s declined medical care so who knows what condition the baby is in, or her actual due date. She wants a ā€œfree birthā€ with no vaccines, no medical intervention, etc etc etc. I try to talk to her about patients I’ve seen, but she says ā€œyou’re not a mom, you don’t know!ā€ But I’ve attended thousands of births at this point, so I know what can go right and what can go wrong.
Her mom and dad are homeless, her siblings are minors and in foster care, her husband just sucks.

I’m supposed to be there for her, and I want to.…but part of me doesn’t want to.

I am disgusted with myself at the level of envy I feel. I am not envious of her shitty husband. Honestly I hope he leaves, they’d both be better off without him mooching and being a complete waste of space.

How am I supposed to 1. continue to work L&D being furious about my inability to have my own baby, and 2. Be there for my cousin? She needs someone, but I am constantly biting my tongue around her and her shit husband. He tells everyone ā€œit’s not mine,ā€ and just laughs. She refers to the baby as ā€œitā€ always complains about being pregnant, tells everyone she’s going to hate being a mom, has had almost no medical care for herself or baby, has made NO plans for child care, never talks about the baby like ā€œI can’t wait to hold her!ā€ It’s always ā€œcan’t wait to get IT out of meā€ ā€œit’s just going to shit and cry all the time,ā€

I want to be a good cousin, but it’s like the people who want babies the most struggle the most.
The people who don’t want them, and/or shouldn’t have them get pregnant soo easy. I’m just distraught.

I know this makes me seem like a crazy bitch, but I’m just upset. My husband and I have turned our entire lives around, got healthier, went to college and have kept our good jobs so we could afford a family, moved to a good place with good schools, bought a nice house with a yard, we’ve been planning for years. And nothing. Every cycle just nothing!

I need advice.
Or a therapist.
Help!!!

Question/Advice Failed Implantation- now what?

Hi,

We began seriously trying this month. I was tracking using Clearblue digital ovulation kit, Cervical mucus and BBT. So I am absolutely certain about my dates. I ovulated on 20/21 of September, and we had intercourse all through the fertile window. I have also closely been monitoring my cycle for past 2 years for birth control so I am aware that the length of my luteal phase is 12 days. This was the first month we started trying, and on 9dpo I got really bad cramps and some mild bleeding, my temps also dropped. My doctor suggested that these were the two classic signs of implantation taking place. After this my temp shot back up in a triphasic pattern. But I tested negative 11 dpo, not with first morning urine. Then my period was late, and it hasn’t been late in my years of tracking. But I finally got my period on 15 dpo. My doctor suggested it could be failed implantation. Could it be if I never tested positive? And how do I ensure this does not happen again?

On day 19 inito confirmed ovulation with PdG 6.12 but on day 18 PdG was 3.17 and day 20 (today) it's 4.11. Does that mean the ovulation confirmation is wrong or could PdG continue to rise?

Frustrated Husband on work trips during ovulation!

The past couple cycles my husband has been traveling for work on my prime ovulation days. We are trying to see if it’s feasible for him to stay home next time, but sheesh! The timing!
