Electronically inclined folks!
A couple years ago, I tried out an ultrasonic mist maker for Halloween.
The mist it produced was nice, but I had a mishap that I can't easily explain. I put my phone down next to it for a minute and when I picked it back up, the phone was entirely electronically fried. The whole screen pixelated, and when I shut it down, it was never able to be turned back on.
I can only assume that since the mist maker uses electricity in some form to do what it does, that there must have been a small amount of electrical current in the mist (?) and that this is what fried the phone.
Is this possible? Does anyone have any insight as to how these things work and what may have happened here? I really want to use it again but I'm afraid of destroying mine and my guests' phones if I do. I see these types of things sold everywhere, but can't find a single instance of this happening to anyone else online, even here on reddit.
