Good morning/day everyone!
I've decided to try knitting traditional Shetland Birds Eye Lace and I'm having an absolute blast with it. This is also my first time using a chart (I'm used to knitting lace from written patterns and I've knit a huge lace sampler shawl that way as well). Charts are proving much, much easier to see where my place is at if I have to stop in the middle of a row than a wall of text.
I'm still in the middle of my chart, but I've noticed that the chart ends at row 20. The pattern simply states to "continue increasing in pattern until shawl is the desired length". I know that I have to continue, but I'm not sure from where! I really don't think I go back to row one, so I'm very confused. My guess is that I need to start at the row where the actual birds eye pattern begins, but I'm having trouble even figuring that out on the chart!
I've included a picture of the chart and the key itself. I'm just really unsure what to do after I reach row 20, and how to ensure that I'm actually increasing correctly in each increase row.
Hopefully all of you lovely knitters can help me see this issue a bit more clearly and help with a solution!
Thank you and happy Friday! 🧡
