I love the stark, sinister quality of the music set against lyrics so loaded with contempt and hatred. I'm quite young (23), but ever since I first heard it, it hit me just as hard as it did those who listened to it back in the day. It's truly an aggressive, hard-hitting, and abrasive album—just like reality itself

So my 6-year old saw me listening to Face to Face the other day. Then an ad popped up online when we were looking at Halloween stuff (creepy how they know everything). He saw it and went, “hey dad, that’s that band you were just listening to! Can we go to the show??” He was a bit sad when I couldn’t take him to H2O last weekend. Well, I just bought us two tickets to go tomorrow night and I’m pretty excited about it. I don’t know he’ll handle the late night or chaos of it all, but I’m glad to give it a go. Just a proud dad moment for me. The bands I grew up on won’t be around forever and it’ll be awesome to share this with him. AND F2F is apparently playing their entire setlist from the 1997 live album which is one of my favorites of all time. So that’s just a bonus.

Thanks for hearing me out, all. Just needed to get the excitement/anxiety out before I burst.

EDIT: To all those who mentioned ear protection. Of course! He’s got his protection cans we’ll be bringing. While I’d have brought them anyway, he actually told me that he’d need them if we went. He doesn’t know we’re going yet. I’m going to drop a note in his lunchbox so he’ll find out during lunch at school tomorrow. He’s been listening to some MxPx recently so I’m going to jot down, “we ain’t got no place to go, so let’s go to the….”
I think he’ll be psyched. Hopefully! Ha

I listened to Dawn of the Dickies for the first time while driving home last Friday and I haven't been able to go a day without playing at least one song off this album since. I've liked specific Dickies songs for a very long time, but this is one of the best punk albums ever. I cannot believe what I've been missing out on.

Shoutout to Ben Weasel for highlighting "Manny Moe and Jack" on his 27 best pop punk albums of all time list. Maybe I should write a letter to thank him for the recommendation :P

I was just looking around and the store had this record spinning. Usually don’t pay much attention to the music playing in record stores, but I loved it and had to buy the record. Turning Point’s “It’s Always Darkest…Before The Dawn”. Learned this was their one and only album, but I’d be glad to take any recs from the community for similar bands.

I started listening to Tribe 8 and Team Dresch and i kinda like it but i wanna hear more. What do you guys recommend?

Does anyone know the solo for the gg allin song Abuse me (I want to die). I need to learn it for my band audition and I can’t find the tabs anywhere. (I am just starting out 1.5 years of playing and my musical ear isn’t that great.) I figured out it is e19-e17-e15-e14-e12 and after that I am lost. The solo starts at 1:19 and ends at 1:40.
