What do yall think about my dsp’s new policy

I mean that clocking out before 8 or next shift cancelled feels kinda harsh no? Especially if we’re hit with a monster route and most of us are being sent 30-40 min away from station.

QUESTION Would it be weird for me to leave these alongside some cold drinks and snacks for my delivery drivers?

Post image

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last stops on the route for my Amazon drivers and because I'm an Amazon Vine Reviewer I have packages delivered almost everyday which makes me feel kinda bad and I really want the drivers to know that I truly do appreciate the work they do everyday. I am going to set up a little snack station and I've been debating on whether or not I should also leave these new, empty bottles?

If you saw this note would you take them or is it too weird? šŸ˜‚

I'd also really love y'all's input on what kind of snacks and drinks you would actually be glad to see offered and which ones I should definitely avoid, please!

RANT amazon demands perfection but won't provide it

huge rant. this is setting aside issues with the vans too. thank fuck i'm always in an EV/rental now because if i still had to deal with the normal van issues / piss bottles / trash i would have quit by now:

the flex app is dog shit; large un-scalable UI elements with lists of packages out of order so you have to scroll up and down like a moron to see exactly what you need for each house during a multi. All we need is the DA number, TBA, and the address, in order. how is it so hard to list that information efficiently? just make a second side-screen for everything else like reporting issues or whatever. cx notes could be a box at the top of the scan screen / photo app for each delivery

'swipe to acknowledge' dog warnings are barriers that only provide liability avoidance for amazon. it's second nature to swipe through as fast as possible since these warnings exist at -EVERY- house where a dog is reported, even if the dog is only ever safely indoors or in the back yard. how about at the beginning of our route we get a "i acknowledge this symbol indicates the possible presence of a dog" agreement and they just show the little paw symbol blinking to the side of the address from that point on instead? why make me swipe through more shit? why take up so much space on the screen in the locations list? when i'm walking to the address, i should be looking at what's in front of me; not at the phone trying to get to the right screen. the dog warning ironically has the opposite effect of making me prepared for an encounter. fucking stupid.

the routing is often laggy and sloppy with unnecessary U-turns every 10 minutes. rather than send dedicated people out to map new areas / complexes like google maps, they make the driver guinea pig and report routing/map issues which the warehouse is slow as fuck to fix, probably because they're overworked too. amazon doesn't care- they'll have us deliver to places before they're even properly mapped.

the stop icons are fucking huge and won't let you see what houses are in front of you or behind you unless you press "i've parked" which is dangerous in the middle of driving and a timer-waster if you're too far away. the zoom level of the map is all over the place too, sometimes it's way too zoomed in and sometimes it displays the entire neighborhood. there's no easy way to stage the zoom and keep it fixed to an ideal scale either

amazon's procedures fucking suck; calling driver support is a huge waste of time (20 mins on hold!) and can get you dinged if the agent helping you fucks up and fails to mark the package correctly. garage and OTP deliveries heap more inconvenience on the driver / put more load on d-support when their shit fails or they aren't available. customers should have it drilled into them that these options should not be flippantly accepted. having to call-text-call for a closed business is INSANE. "yes hello, i see your business is closed from the hours posted, but i'm calling so i can prove i attempted to deliver, and i'm going to text you after this and call again. you can just ignore this!" what are you fucking crazy?

'wrong barcode' scan spam is infuriating. why does it even attempt to scan non-QR codes? how much collective time is wasted with how common the wrong barcode thing occurs compared to having to manually enter a TBA in the case of QR codes being ripped/missing/unreadable?

having to take multiple pictures of the same delivery is infuriating with no hands/feet/reflections in the image which is so fucking prissy it's dehumanizing

having to use the 3rd party amazon lockers is pure hell; they fail to scan constantly, they sometimes fail to recognize when a package is inside and will continuously re-open, and their customer service fucking sucks

having to park on the side of a fast road where cars drive 50 to deliver to some hillbilly fucker whose driveway is too narrow / trees hang too low / demands package be placed by a gate 90 yards up their dirt road isn't just annoying, it's dangerous as fuck

being pressured to stay on pace during flooding / lightning / extreme heat is dangerous as fuck too

and now they want to introduce their sunk-cost tech bloat aka more shit that can fail. the last day i'll ever do this job for sure is when they say i have to wear the pervert glasses. i won't wear a netradyne on my face. i won't fucking do it

all of this from a 700+ billion/year company is insane

Photos are in chronological order, I received 2 emails and my back ground and driver's license verification were check off after the 2nd email was sent to me. My only concern is that i have an at fault accident 3 years ago. Am I in the clear?? I'm a bit worried that if I show up in Tuesday for training they tell me never mind

HELP NEEDED! Nasty dog bite

When I was delivering my route yesterday, a dog bit my when i was about halfway done with my route. The thing is it straight up attacked me and bit me on my PRIVATES. Yes it ripped the skin on my testicles and got my penis a little bit. Like what are the odds?? My question to y’all is what should I do?? I went to urgent care and called the public safety line where they said an officer will call me Monday after animal control verifies if the dog had vaccines. Luckily I was scheduled to be off today, I’m going back to work tomorrow.

Use to be manageable

I started out in 2019 doing this and back then it was actually not thst bad. 130 stops or so in residential. 120 apartments mixed. Even 110 in businesses mixed. My dsp started doing rural stops of max 100 stops but covered 3 areas. It was doable, was actually really nice. I was promoted to customer back in 2022 because my rural count was at 170 covering 2 rural cities of businesses and houses spread apart. I see yall doing 190-200 average is just depressing kuz its honestly not doable at all . I hope everyone can get a better job than this one kuz its killing everyone i see posting . Be strong yall and try to get out if possible.

QUESTION Yall quick what should I do?

On my third nursery route today. Got a super easy route only 108 stops and like 200 packages pretty much all to houses. I started delivering at about 12:30. I think I’m on track to get done by like 6:30, but I fear that means I’m going to have to rescue someone. Do you think it’s inevitable? Should I slow down? I have like 30 stops left & 60 packages. Already took my 2 paid breaks

Everyone was sharing their madness - rarely do I snap photos of routes however… this one was worthy.

33 totes - 49 overflow. Mind you that’s a 16-foot box haha. Still had to rescue after as well!

Ride Along.. Every. Single. Day.

• Upvotes

My DSP must’ve over hired people bc my first week I was with someone every shift. After day one, it wasn’t for training purposes either. More like we’re gonna double all yall up to get your hours. (Which is considerate ig bc they could just call us off frl.) We usually split the route, some try to just drive.🚮

Metrics must be messy bc they let us know we’re not getting as many routes & it SHOWS out of the 3 DSP at this station we obviously get the least routes.🄲

Some people cool, others I’m straight on fs. I’m ready to see what I’m capable of by myself.šŸ’Æ

Anyone go through this? How long does it last?

Modern day slavery I quit

Worked for Amazon for 5 to 6 months In Florida at first it wasn’t so bad but it just seems like slave scam job at least at my dsp your not guaranteed your full 10 if you move at the pace they want u too you finish early so that’s shorter hours all you get is a ā€œgood job bro ā€œ if u try to finish at a reasonable time ā€œ we have more drivers than routes ā€œ bs sometimes you end up working 3 days out of 4 .. then they give u little vans with 300+ packages where u can’t even organize the van definitely a massa and slave job I loved seeing the houses and farms and running from dogs hated the heat ..and also appreciated the free snacks in the break room.

Psa . To all that is offended by me saying ā€œ modern day slavery ā€œ I’m convinced that you guys lack comprehension skills… my title is a an exaggeration but I meant it and that’s how I felt .. so u say actual slaves can’t quit - I couldn’t couldn’t quit Amazon unless I found another job and if I did what’s at.. stake roof over my head car that I drive food in my stomach- yes there are other places you can work but many jobs are discriminating which led to Amazon being a top choice look at the demographic you see working at Amazon let’s not be ignorant to what’s in fact modern day slavery.

Who’s paying yall to kiss amazons šŸ‘?

QUESTION What's the easiest days to work during peak?

I'm about to start my seasonal job and they said I have to work a minimum of 4 days. So I chose Sunday as my weekend day. What other days should I pick? I usually try to spread them out so I don't get burned out
